#Chapter28
Ava's POV
/"No,/" I repeated for the hundredth time.
/"Sweetheart, I'm fine. See,/" to emphasize his point. He lifted a two hundred pound weight with a finger.
While lowering the weight to the gym floor, I could see him grimace, to which he played it off with a smile. I knew that he was still in pain because I could feel it.
/"You're going to hurt yourself,/" I exclaimed, grabbing ahold of the weight and putting it on the floor. I looked up at him with displeasure and worried etched across my face.
/"I don't need your help,/" he snapped, turning away from me.
I knew why he was acting like this. He was the all mighty alpha, feared by all. He was used to doing everything for himself. So I guessed he didn't want anyone to see him in pain or think that he was weak. But he had to understand that I would be there for him every step of the way, no matter what.
Plus, this was kind of my fault. No, it was entirely my fault.
