'Good morning, kitten.'

Lana's heart lit up at his text. It was the first time in a long time that he'd texted her his usual good morning message and that familiar feeling made her stomach sink into the butterflies that surrounded it.

Brushing her teeth and making her way downstairs, she didn't expect to find Blade sitting with her dad, playing chess. When his eyes fell on her, there was something dark lurking inside them and Lana was nothing but happy to see that familiar flint of hunger blazing through the brown in his orbs.

'Good morning.' She smiled, catching the attention of her father who seemed deeply flustered over the game that he was close to losing, to Blade. When he set his eyes on his daughter, a smile approached his features.

'Now that you're here, make us some coffee, will you?' Her dad smirked, taking advantage of her presence.
