Meeting his father

"You're always trying to choose for me but not this time. This was the reason I took this long to bring her here. I was afraid of your judgemental attitude towards her" Eric said.

His father sighed, "She is a nice girl but just not for you. You may have tried to hide her but you were delaying the inevitable. I will never allow her in this family"

Eric gritted his teeth, "You can say what you want father but am not leaving Patricia no matter what you say" he walked out.

Patrica was chatting with Eric's mother when her husband walked over to them.

"Honey, have you met, Patricia. She is Eric's girlfriend and also our designer". She said.

"Good evening sir" Patricia smiled.

He smiled back at her, "You're the one who made her dress" he asked.

"Yes and am glad she liked it"

"You are creative, I loved it too. It made her look like a blooming flower" he said.

"Thank you," Patrica said.

Ella and Ericka walked up to them grabbing their mother, "Come on mother time to get ready for the cutting the cake" they dragged her off.

Patrica remained behind with Eric's father who looked down at her.

She got up with a smile, "I think it's time for us to go sing the birthday song" she said.

Before she could go he held her hand.

"Don't you feel ashamed?" he said.

"Am sorry?" she said

"Don't you feel ashamed of leeching off my family? Getting free money from my wife and daughter and manipulating my son too"

Patrica gently pulled her hand from his aggressive hold, "I think you have it confused father. I have not got any free money from any of your family members. The money I get is from my hard-earned work".

He laughed, "Work? that rubbish your design can be made by even a homeless person but you delude yourself into that its fit to be sold. My family maybe be blind to see it but am not".

She felt something sting in her eyes, she wanted to retort back at him but he was her boyfriend's father.

"My son is just taking pity on you to even consider giving you a job or even dating you for this long. He just passing time until I decided for him who to marry. So save yourself some face and go away. Even your friends are better than you, they don't need any man's support to live"

Finally, the tears fell, and she moved back, "Thank you for telling me, I hope we don't see each other again too" and ran off.
