feelings messed up

King's POV

I sat near the pond, smiling to myself.

Who would believe we're in a place like this... Y/N... What a beautiful girl. I've never met anyone like her. She's amazing — the way she smiles... well, not for me, but still, I like that smile. Her eyes... the way she looks at me — those eyes are mesmerizing. I could stare into them forever.

"Aahhaa..." I sighed deeply.

*Why do I feel this way? I... I think I like her.*

I gazed at the sparkling water, then up at the beautiful stars in the sky. I closed my eyes.

"No, this isn't right," I muttered to myself.

I know this is happening... this can't be a dream. I think we're in the past...but this impossible

I sighed and opened my eyes.

"King, you have to go back to your place as soon as possible," I told myself, taking a deep breath.

Think... think...

I started to put the pieces together.

First, this is a palace, and everything is green and old-fashioned — so we're in the past, right? Second, they're being kind to us, and the princess somehow knows who we are... but why? Yes... that princess... she called me King Charles. How is that possible? I need to get out of here.

I looked up at the sky.

"Mom..." I whispered.

I miss her. She must be worried about me... waiting for me to come home.

"I need to figure this out," I said, turning back to the pond.

I remembered how that dumb Max fell into the water and dragged me in with him.

"Wait... yeah... that could be it!" I said to myself

If we fell into this pond and ended up here... maybe falling in again will take us back — back to our time. It makes sense

I touched the water, watching it sparkle against my fingers.

Finally... we need to find out soon.

I was about to stand up when I noticed someone on the balcony.

Y/N.

She was sitting on the edge, staring at the sky. Tears were falling from her beautiful eyes. My heart ached — I wanted to hold her close, to comfort her.

* I think... I think I love her. No... no, this is wrong, King... you have to control yourself.*

Taking a deep breath, I walked back to my room. When I opened the door, I saw Max sleeping peacefully on the bed.

Idiot...

"I need to sleep on this," I muttered, lying down on the couch across from him.

I tried to close my eyes, but Y/N's face wouldn't leave my mind.

I don't know when I finally drifted off to sleep.

The Next Morning

"Hey, King... King, wake up!" Max voice banging against my ears

I groaned at the sound of Max's annoying voice.

I squinted at him — he was already dressed in neat, clean clothes.

"When did you wake up?" I asked, my voice groggy.

"Oh, I always wake up at 6:00 a.m.," he said proudly.

"Wh—"

"Wake up and get ready. We have to find a way out of here." He said quickly

His words clicked in my mind, and I shot up from the couch. Max stepped back, startled.

"Hey... y-you can go back to sleep if you want..."he was scared by my sudden act

"No... We need to go to the pond." I said

"The pond? What are you talking about?" he asked, clueless.

I motioned to him, recalling how we fell in.

"You... you mean...?"he said

"Yes! Yes, it has to be possible, right?" I nodded

He nodded.

"Let's go then!" I said

We quickly got up to leave.

"Hey... don't you want to shower?" Max asked.

I paused and looked at him.

"No, I'll take a bath in that pond," I joked.

"Okay…" he muttered.

We hurried to the pond.

"Are you ready, Max?" I said

Max: yeah, let's do it!" He said

We were just about to jump when a voice called out behind us.

???: What are you doing here?"

We turned to see... Y/N.

"Nothing," I stammered. "We were just checking how deep it was." I said

"Don't go near it," she warned. "It can be dangerous." She said

"Dangerous? How?" Max asked, confused. so do I

"Two years ago... during the rainy season, a thunderstorm struck that pond," Y/N explained.

"So... it was back then?" I muttered to myself.

"No... not just that," Y/N continued. "Whenever we put fish in the pond, they never come back. Since that night... no one dares go near it." She confirmed

???: And one day," another voice added, "a soldier went in... and never came back either."

We turned to see the princess standing nearby. Max and I exchanged glances.

*I think I know where they went,* I thought.

"My king," the princess said gently, "let's get ready. Breakfast is waiting."

I nodded, reluctantly walking back to my room.

Max: did you hear what they said " I nodded to him

Max turned to me with a serious expression. "Did you hear what they said?" He said

I gave him a small nod. "Yeah, I did."

He sighed, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "That makes sense... The soldiers and those fish must have traveled into the future."

I frowned, trying to piece everything together. "Yeah, it sounds like it. We should check it out tonight."

Max nodded in agreement but hesitated. "Yeah... but that girl—"

"I know," I cut in, my voice firm. "We'll figure something out. We'll find a way."

Max: "Okay, now get ready. They must be waiting for us."

"Alright," I replied with a nod. "You go ahead and check on them — I'll be there in a minute"

Here's a revised and expanded version of that part:

Max shot me a playful glare.

Max: "Don't take an hour this time, or I'll send that crazy girl to come get you." He said

I chuckled at his comment, shaking my head. * He must be talking about Y/N — no doubt about it *
