King's POV
We were holed up in the dim light of a quiet room, the tension of the battle still echoing in my mind. Max, ever the jokester even in the midst of chaos, tried to lighten the mood.
"Hey, don't worry, bro—you know how to handle this battle. After all, she's just a girl," Max teased.
I sighed, shaking my head with a small, wry smile. "I know what you mean, but she's strong. I'm not too worried about that part because I know how to fight." I said to him
* I mean, I once played a soldier in a movie—so I learned a thing or two about winning sword battles.*
Max chuckled, then his tone shifted to curiosity. "Oh—hey, why are they calling me Commander Xavier?" he ask
I glanced at him, amused. "I have no idea, man. But listen up, here's the plan: when me and Y/N in fight while I'm keeping her busy, you need to talk with the Princess." I said
"Aha!" Max grinned. "I'd be happy to do that."
I looked at him, a mix of amusement and slight suspect in my eyes. "Just remember—the idea is to tire them out. Once they're exhausted, they'll fall asleep, and that's when we make our move through the pond to get back to our own world." I said
Max's face fell slightly as he replied, "Okay, I understand. But what if they don't get tired enough? You know how unpredictable this can be."he said
I leaned forward, my eyes gleaming with determination. "Don't worry, Max. We'll make sure they do. Trust me—I know how to make them tired after all we are the winners ." I paused, walking to the bed and sit. "This is our chance to escape." I said
Max laughed softly, shaking his head in disbelief. "I like that " he said to me
"And one more thing.....make the Princess laugh gain her trust"
Max: don't warry about that "
I nodded firmly. "Exactly. Stay sharp and be ready, Commander Xavier. Tonight, everything hinges on our chance to way out from this" I said to him
Max's grin widened, a spark of mischief flickering in his eyes. "I wouldn't have it any other way, King Charles," he said with a playful salute.
I let out a tired sigh as I sank onto the bed. "Alright... I need some rest now," I mumbled, already feeling the weight of exhaustion pulling me down. "Oh, and one more thing — bring my lunch here. I'll eat in my room."
Max chuckled again, his footsteps fading as he walked away. I closed my eyes, knowing that tonight's mission could change everything.
After some time, I closed my eyes, my mind drifting back to the countless thoughts that refused to quiet down. I kept wondering — how would she fight? What should I make her do?
I told myself I didn't care about the Princess… but her.
A smile tugged at my lips as her face flashed in my mind — warm, bright, and impossible to forget.
I'm going to make sure I get as close to her as possible... no matter what it takes.
After what feels like only a few minutes of rest, I hear a familiar voice cutting through my sleep.
Max: "Hey bro, get up!" His voice is loud and persistent, making my head throb.
I groan, barely lifting my head from the pillow. "What the fuck do you want, Max?" My voice is hoarse, and my eyes are still shut.
Max: "You've been knocked out for almost three hours! Get up already — I brought your lunch."
"Three hours?" I mumble, still half-asleep. "It feels like I just closed my eyes... I need more sleep." I bury my face deeper into the pillow, hoping Max will get the hint and leave me alone.
But of course, Max being Max, that doesn't happen.
Max: "Well, that's your loss," he says in a teasing tone. "Y/N made this new sweet thing, and I gotta say... it's really good. Probably one of the best things they've made."
I still don't react, determined to stay in my comfort zone.
Max: "Mmm..." I hear him hum dramatically, like he's savoring something. "It's soft, sweet, and just melts in your mouth... Damn, I should probably grab another one before it's all gone."
My eyes snap open.
"Wait... Y/N made something new?" My voice is still groggy, but the thought of Y/N's cooking is enough to wake me up a little.
Max: "Yup. But hey, if you're too tired, no worries. I'll just finish yours too," he says with a smug grin.
"Like hell you will!" I toss the blanket off me and sit up, still half-dazed but now motivated.
Max laughs. "Knew that would work."
I finally drag myself out of bed, still feeling groggy. Without a word, I walk over to the table and take a bite of the dessert Y/N made.
The moment it hits my tongue, I can't help but moan. "Umm... delicious," I mumble between bites, barely able to stop myself from devouring it all in one go.
Max: "Yeah, right? She's seriously talented," he says with a grin, watching me like he knew this would happen.
I nod, still too focused on the sweet treat to reply properly. "Yeah..."
For a moment, there's nothing but the sound of me eating, but then Max breaks the silence.
Max: "Hey, by the way... they're asking why we're still here and when we're leaving."
His words make me pause, spoon halfway to my mouth. "Wh-what did you tell them?" I ask, suddenly more alert.
Max: "Told them they'd have to ask our king about it," he says with a casual shrug.
I let out a heavy sigh, setting my spoon down. "Good... but we're gonna need an excuse before we actually go."
Max: "Hmm... actually, I have an idea."
I turn to him, curious. "Spill it."
His grin widens, and I already know whatever's coming next is going to be either brilliant... or completely reckless.
Max: "Look, I've got an idea. We write a letter to them, then we leave."
I pause, thinking it over. "Hmm... that could work, but we still need a solid reason for staying here in the first place."
Max: "Yeah... good point."** He scratches the back of his head, clearly trying to brainstorm. After a moment, his face lights up. "Oh! I watched some old movies once, and they had this thing where the king goes out to check on his kingdom's progress."
I raise an eyebrow. "And...?"
Max: "Well, you know... the king sometimes pretends to be a regular person so he can see how things are really going. Or... sometimes it's because he's trying to find an intruder. Oh! And sometimes it's to search for someone special — like a girl who's honest and genuine. You know, the type he'd want to marry."**
I stare at him for a second, blinking slowly. "So... your grand idea is that I pretend to be a king wandering around to find a wife or catch an intruder?"
Max: "I mean... yeah, pretty much."** He grins proudly, as if he'd just solved world peace.
I chuckle dryly. "That's ridiculous."
Max: "But is it ridiculous enough to work?"**
I sigh, shaking my head. "You know what? It just might be."
I sit back down, rubbing my temples as I try to piece the idea together. "Hmm... we can't just make up some random excuse... but wait — maybe we can."
Max tilts his head. "What do you mean?"
"I mean... what if we say I'm here to find the right girl for me?" I pause, letting the idea sink in. "And... some people might've mistaken us for thieves, which is why we sneaked in."
Max's eyes widen. "Wait... that actually makes sense!"
I nod, feeling a bit more confident now. "Yeah... if we tell them that, they might believe us. It's just believable enough to sound real."
Max: "Right! And if they ask too many questions, we can just say it's part of some royal tradition or something."
I chuckle. "Exactly. Now we just need to talk to them and hope they don't suspect anything."
Max: "Sounds like a plan."** He claps his hands together, looking way too excited for something that's barely holding together.
"Alright... let's do this."
I can't help but feel nervous, but hey — when you're out of options, a ridiculous plan might just be your best shot.
