Between Two Worlds

King POV

I looked in the mirror, staring at my reflection. My mind was racing. *I have to go there.* I nodded slightly, determination settling in. *I have a plan.*

Without wasting any more time, I wrapped a towel around my waist and walked to my bedroom. My heart was pounding, a mix of nerves and urgency fueling my every move. I reached for my phone on the nightstand, my fingers trembling slightly as I scrolled through my contacts.

Max.

I didn't hesitate—I quickly tapped his name and pressed the call button, bringing the phone to my ear. The ringing felt like an eternity. *Pick up, Max. *

Max picked up almost immediately. "Yeah, King," he said casually.

"Listen carefully," I said, lowering my voice. "We're going tonight. And if this works... then this could be the connection between the two dimensions, right?"

There was a brief silence before Max spoke again. "Wow... bro, I have no idea what you're talking about."

I sighed, rubbing my forehead. "Idiot. If we go there again, then that means there's a way to travel back and forth between the past and present."

Max hummed in thought. "Yeah... I guess it could be possible?"

"Exactly!" I grinned. "Then that means we can go whenever we want!"

Max let out a short laugh. "Huh... I never thought about that," he admitted, sounding a little impressed.

Max hesitated for a moment before saying, "Then we'll tell them."

I frowned. "What? Why?"

Max sighed. "Hey, do you really want to lie to them? I mean… if they already know something, I can't take that risk."

I bit my lip, thinking it over. "Yeah, you're right… but telling them is risky too."

Max nodded. "If they care about us, they'll understand eventually."

"Yeah… I guess."

Max sighed. "And we've been going back and forth so many times—we could get caught."

I nodded slowly. "Hmm… I get your point. Fine, we'll tell them."

Max grinned. "And if they don't understand, we'll show them."

I raised an eyebrow. "Show them?"

"I mean, we could take them there," Max explained.

I thought about it for a moment before nodding. "Yeah, that makes sense. If we can go there, then they should be able to come here too."

Max snapped his fingers. "Exactly!"

"Okay then, come over tonight. We'll leave from my house… and yeah, if my mom asks, just tell her we're working on a new project."

Max chuckled. "Okay, okay… I just can't wait to see Diana."

I rolled my eyes. "Alright." With that, I ended the call.

I couldn't help but smile, feeling a rush of excitement. I was just as eager to meet her. Last night, I even dreamed about her—she hugged me, kissed me… It felt so real.

Still lost in my thoughts, I grinned and kissed my thumb. But before I could dwell on it any longer, a sudden knock on my door snapped me back to reality.

Mom: "Jerry, get ready fast! They're here!"

I frowned. "Who, Mom?"

She stepped into my room as I rummaged through my closet, trying to decide what to wear.

Mom: "Did you forget already? I told you yesterday—my friend and her daughter are coming over."

I sighed, running a hand through my hair. "Ahh… okay, okay. I'll be out in a minute."

Mom: "You better. And yeah, don't be rude, okay?" she warned, giving me a pointed look.

I rolled my eyes. "Fine."

Satisfied, she left the room, and I turned back to my closet with a groan. Great… just what I needed today.

After finally getting ready, I stepped out of my room and walked into the living room. A woman and a girl were sitting on the couch. The girl was wearing a short dress and smiling sweetly at my mother.

Ah… just a minute, right? I thought to myself, sighing internally.

I walked over and sat beside my mother.

Mom: "My son… let me introduce you to them."

I noticed the girl looking at me like a total fangirl, her eyes practically shining with excitement.

I smiled politely at them, already wondering how this was going to play out.

Mom: "This is Richelle, my friend," she said, gesturing toward the woman who looked to be about her age.

Mom: "And this is her daughter, Kristina."

Kristina extended her hand for a handshake, her smile bright. I got up and shook her hand briefly, pulling away as quickly as possible.

Mom: "And this is my so—"

Before she could finish, Richelle interrupted her.

Richelle: "Well, who doesn't know about the best actor, King?" she said with a grin.

I simply nodded. "Well… hello," I said, forcing a polite smile.

Richelle: "My daughter is also an actor."

"Oh… okay," I said, nodding politely.

Kristina kept looking at me, her eyes filled with admiration. I gave her a small smile, and she instantly blushed.

Mom: "King, isn't she beautiful?" my mother asked eagerly.

No, she's not—because I've already seen the most beautiful girl, and her name is Y/N.

I sighed. "Mom, I have to go somewhere… You guys can carry on." Without waiting for a response, I ignored them all and walked out.

I drove straight to my favorite place—my farmhouse. It was peaceful, surrounded by nature, and exactly what I needed to clear my mind. As I stepped inside, a sense of calm washed over me. Yeah… I love it here.

I wish Y/N was here with me… I closed my eyes and imagined it—the warmth of her presence beside me, my head resting on her lap as she gently ran her fingers through my hair. She would smile down at me, her touch soft and comforting, while I gazed up at her like a man completely obsessed.

I sighed, snapping out of my thoughts. "Well… it could be true if things go the way I want," I muttered to myself, leaning back on the couch.

To distract myself, I grabbed the remote and turned on the TV. I flipped through different channels—watched some news, then switched to music, letting the melodies fill the silence of the room. Nothing really held my attention, so I put on a random movie, hoping it would help me relax.

As the movie played, my mind kept drifting back to Y/N. Would she ever be here with me like that? Would she smile at me the way I imagine?

The thoughts mixed with the soft sounds of the TV, making my eyelids feel heavier. Eventually, exhaustion took over, and before I knew it, I had fallen asleep right there on the couch.
