27. I can't stop staring

Yufeng then turns to the rabbit, looking serious.

"Zhen Yi, why was Wang Yi even there with teacher Xiao in the first place? Didn't they swear that he wouldn't participate the night mission, so how come...!?? It's weird, I can't help but feel that someone must have on purpose let him, otherwise he wouldn't be able to have done it by himself and pass by without the guards noticing."

"Hey, why are you saying as if you don't know?"

"Don't know what?"

"Wait, you serious? Didn't you see that   last night before going to the mission, Wang Yi confronted General Xie? I assume it must have been to get the location map of where the mission will take place. Didn't you know that? The General definitely knew about it and must've helped him-!!"

"What!?? Is he crazy!??? Oh my God, Why didn't you tell me sooner, Zhen Yi!!??"

Not letting him finish talking, Yufeng burst out.

"I thought you knew about it! Didn't he discuss it with you first?"

"No, he didn't !! "

Then on the back corner of his eyes, Yufeng noticed Xie Hun walking back to enter the training ground. Not wanting to lose him, he runs after the man.

"Damn it, I'll go first!"

"Hey! Go where, brother?"

" I have to go talk to the General!"

"About what I said!?? Hey, don't get me killed, will you!??"

"I won't, don't worry!!"

Just when Xie Hun was  reaching to the entrance of the building, Yufeng calls out for him from far,

"General!! Wait up!!"

Forcing the wolf to turn to look with a "huh?" as he stops.

Once he arrived with a short of breath, he says,

"W-wait up, I have something to ask the General..."

"Oh? Go ahead. just be quick I don't have time."

"General knew about brother Wang Yi sneaking up to the night mission, didn't he?"

"What's with the sudden question-"

The werewolf titles his head, confused.

"TELL ME!!"

The younger screams in rage, forcing the older to jolt in surprise, not expecting.

"...Wow, hold on, so is this the way you're going to talk to the General, huh!??"

"If it's not you then why else would general dissapear after teacher Xiao brought him to the infirmary!?? Isn't it because of guilt!??"

Ignoring the now angry man, Yufeng continues stubbornly.

"That-"

" Gosh, what in the world  even happened to his face and body!? How did he get hurt that badly nor end up becoming not human!?? Don't tell me it's because of the mission he went to which you led him to!!"

Xie Hun let out a sigh,

"Look, the boy insisted himself."

"Insisted himself? Ha, you must be kidding me..."

In a mocking tone he repeats,

"Well then aren't you a very responsible man? How funny. Our mighty General  seriously feels that there's no fault in what he did, huh!?"

"Listen up, kiddo, I don't have time for this nonsense that you're spouting. I have better things to do."

Xie Hun tries to be patient at the offense that was thrown at him.

Just as he was about to leave the disciple, Yufeng managed to spat out,

"You think I don't know that the one you wanted was Wang Yi's parent!?"

Once he heard the mention of his nightmare, Xie Hun's eyes flew open, turning to stare at the younger in horror.

"How do you-"

" it was Wang Jian, wasn't it- hmph!!"

Xie Hun shoved his palm into the snake's mouth in panic, as he then looks left to right, worrying if anyone heard them.

Noticing that one boy was staring at them in curiosity, whom Xie Hun recognizes as  one of the disciples, he  forces out a reassuring smile at him.

Then he drags Yufeng away to a corner where no one would be able to see them.

"Are you freaking crazy!?? How can you say that out loud- or do you want to get me in trouble!?? I swear, with what you've done to me and about your filth fantasy of your teacher, believe me I'm not letting you off easily!"

Xie Hun grabs the younger by the collar, growling in anger as his eyes turns red.

Completely unaffected by the threat that was thrown at him , he gives the older a look, reminding of a mad person,

"Oh? Then I was right, wasn't I? So you are a cut sleeve after all."

"Y-you...How can a disciple say that to a mighty General!! Are you seeking for death!? Just what do you have up your sleeves?"

His hands starts shaking letting go of the snake as his disguised anger turns into mild fear.

Pushing the older off from himself,

"What do i have up my sleeves!?? Hah, you seriously...I am the one that should be asking you that!! You knew very well that Wang Yi was only putting himself in danger yet you still wanted him to harm himself delibarately, didn't you? I don't know what Uncle Jian actually did to you to make you hurt his son but didn't you want him to die because you hate him and his father??!!"

Xie Hun tries to understand where this snake is coming from that he's suddenly attacking him out of nowhere but found it hard to do so.

"Enough . The way you're acting is so childish, Yufeng. How can you assume so much nonsense? Do you think that just because you had your way with me earlier that night that now you've become all brave and lost respect towards me? Have you forgotten who you're talking to?"

"Yes, I lost respect towards you and I am very disgusted at myself for having to do anything with you."

Before the General could leave, the snake doesn't hesitate to throw out his last offense at the werewolf.

"And don't ever mention the immoral thing that happened between us. It makes me sick to the throat knowing you're into that."

Xie Hun's breath hitches, becoming speechless whatever in anger or if he was offended. Though he knew the half what he said was wrong, his insides still began curling up painfully at the hurtful words, yet he only stood frozen in shock as he watches Yufeng leave him on his own.

He wasn't able to stand up for himself and prove the younger wrong.

Meanwhile in the infirmary...

"Good, there's no one in here... Wang Yi should be in coma still."

Jade rabbit Xiao Xiao took the opportunity to sneak away in order to secretly check up on Wang Yi's condition while the meeting was still going on with no one finding out nor disturbing her.

"I think his situation is stable."

Standing beside the bed where the still unconscious merman laid, Xiao Xiao puts aside the blanket that was covering his body.

"No one should know that you and I are here, disciple."

She was gonna thoroughly study the changes that happened to the teen, not being able to do so earlier with how busy she was with little to no chances.

The woman places her hand on his leg, curiously searching up for any differences while also trying to undress him.

"Since he's not human anymore will his legs also be covered in scales? I have got to see it with my own eyes..."

While at the same time the teenager was battling inside, being in the state of a reality as well a dream,  somewhere in between.

"....Ah, am I awake? I can't open my eyes, too tired... Ugh! Why do I feel so powerless...?? Or is this another hallucination? I can't hear anything..."

As he innerly spoke his body  remains unloving, no matter how hard he tries to even lift finger.

"Huh? Why does it feel like someone is touching me below..."

He frowns,

"Strange, I haven't had a spring dream in a very long time...I vaguely remember the last time was only about little Mom and that was when I just turned 13, ah Mother Xiao Xiao was very sweet at that time, now that I've grown up that woman has become so grumpy... "

Wang Yi was daydreaming about the past of when Xiao Xiao used to gently teach him how to write and read as well as how to hold a weapon. The child that he was back then was genuinely in love with the Teacher's sincere kindness and softness, but it all came crushing down once she started becoming indifferent to him aging up.

"Uhh, why do I feel cold, what happened to the blanket...I need to cover myself- ughgh, but why can't I move!? Crap, I feel so naked..!!"

The teenager was already supposed to wake up anytime soon with the venom within him dying out thanks to medication, yet Xiao Xiao knew of it not so she still goes on with feeling up his body for any injuries or new changes.

She gasps, getting excited from seeing merman scales up her student's ankle up to his thigh,

"He does have scales now!! It's only very few but it still looks interesting..."

"Okay, it goes up till here and here...and-"

The jade rabbit then took notice on the fishy scales on her merman student's body that was hiding themselves with the cloth he had on.

She lines the cloth to thes side, revealing more skin.

"-there are scales on his arms too!?? I thought It would be only on his legs!"

Once the woman goes up to feel his biceps, almost hovering above him, she gently brushes with her fingertips through the fish scales. Although in the outside she looked proper and elegant she actually had inner amazement.

That's when the teenager opens his eyes.

Still motionless, his droopy eyes blinks  several times in order to adjust to the surrounding areas.

Wang Yi didn't expect his vision to be blocked, faintly making out what he is  seeing , which appears to be what he recognizes as a woman's figure. That stood very close to him. Too close.

The teenager gulps, wanting to cover his eyes. He was getting embarassed at being right below the woman's torso he doesn't know whose, who on top of that was sweetly caressing his arm muscules, giving him the tingles.

"Oh, my Gosh, am I seriously having a spring dream right now...? Crap, what is wrong with me!? I almost died and this is the first thing I see!?? And who is this person!?"

This dream was  making his mind go wild despite truthfully he was highly against it.

"I've only ever had spring dreams of little Mom... Could this be about her again? That's right, no doubt in it. After what we've been through together, I must've started to like her again!"

But after a moment  Xiao Xiao's eyes brights up when she follows up the scales that went from his arms up to his neck , now with her index finger the jade rabbit gently rubs them,

" it appears to be even on his neck!"

She didn't realize at that time that her student was actually awake as well as that her bosom being right in front of his face.

That's when Wang Yi becomes happy as he accepts this spring dream to be about his teacher Xiao Xiao. So now less disgusted, he didn't stop himself from staring and imagining her lovely face full of scars whisper sweet nothings to him as she plays with his body by touching parts of it.
