Special chapter 1 – Red, everything is red.

[Third POV]

9 years, little Kai has been alive on this earth for nine years, he is turning ten soon but even nine years is a lot, so why does his parents not allow him to go out?

"Ugh… come on Wayne," Kai grumbles to his cousin, they have been sneaking out of the mansion to go to the park lately.

Kai is thankful his big brother and sister were not snitches or they would have been grounded by now.

Kia was what most call a problem child, he enjoyed skating in the park and though his mother would take him every once in a while, she had a mega-million art company to run.

So, he had to go out to the park since they were 'celebrities' and they needed to keep a low profile, he had to do it behind his parents' back.

Wayne was just a perfect partner in crime, they were the same age, and they liked causing trouble.

He tried convincing Kaiden, but Kaiden was much more focused on his studies and stuff. He tried convincing Zoey once, but she chose to stay at home with great-grandmother to paint their nails.

"If we get caught, I am blaming you for all this," Kai says once Wayne was finally out, having a cousin sure came in handy for Kai.

"Are you joining the challenge today," Wayne asked, they had been sneaking out to the skate park for months now and they have learned enough tricks.

Though the challenges were mainly made for those struggling with money, Kai just wanted to join just one challenge, so he can show his improved skills.

"Yes, of course I am, I have been training for days for this challenge," Kai says, happily.

His first day at the skate park was quite embarrassing, and he would like to forget the day he fell on his face, and he would like to redeem himself to his fellow skaters.

And today is the day he will show them how good he is at skating, and he will gain more friends.

And to redeem himself he did, he had got into the competition and made it to the top ten, though many simply supported him because of his looks.

His long hair slicked back, and his brown eyes were always the highlight, he had used them to get out of trouble many times.

But most admired his skating skills, Wayne liked skating as well, but he didn't want to enter the challenge since he didn't learn enough.

But he was happy his cousin was making it big; Kai can be a bit too obsessive if he can't do something right, he would repeat it until he does it right and this was one of it.

Wayne had feared that if he had failed this time, he would have to sneak out even more to get better and they would have eventually got caught, Wayne was never ready to get grounded.

"Thank you everyone for coming, we will continue the competition for the top ten tomorrow," the commentator says.

Kai was happy, even though he hadn't won first place he had already met new friends and that felt enough for him.

"Kai, come on let go before we get caught," Wayne yells at his cousin who was busy talking to his 'fans.'

Kai had just checked his watch before he quickly said goodbyes to his 'fans', he ran towards Wayne, picking up his skateboard.

"Come on, let's go, my mom will be home soon," Kai says.

They would take a taxi to get home early, but today they had chosen to skate home instead.

In the meantime, Kai was texting his big brother to cover for him if their mother got home before them.

Though it was a bit rebellious and a bit disobedient, it was still thrilling, he enjoyed it, "we are almost home," Kai says happily, "we are never going to get caught."

"Don't jinx us you fool," Wayne grumbles.

Just as they were skating home, they saw a little girl being dragged by some old man. The boys immediately stopped as it was quite suspicious, the girl wore dirty clothes and had bruises.

They were always taught to protect the women around them by their fathers, they both had their mothers Kaleah and Taryn, aunt Cyan, great grandma Melisa, Adrienne, and Zoey to protect.

The way that man was treating that girl was too suspicious for them, so they in their small age of nine decided to intervene.

"Go home and get Uncle Conan or father," Kai says to Wayne.

"What are you going to do?" Wayne asked, he didn't want to leave Kai in danger or he wanted to know what he planned to do while he called elders.

"I will just stall until someone comes to help," Kai says, Wayne felt a doubtful pang in his stomach, but he still complied.

As Wayne was running him, Kai decided to confront the man. "Hey, what are you doing?" Kai says, in the calmest voice.

"Leave me alone you brat," the man says angrily.

"What I am just curious why you are dragging this poor girl?" Kai asked, looking at the girl being held by the man, she was cute, past the filthy clothes and face.

Her beautiful brown hair flowed well, but needed washing, the chubby cheeks could have been cute only they didn't look starved, and her hazel eyes.

She could easily be the prettiest girl he knew, past his sister and cousin and his mother. His aunts are quite beautiful as well.

"This is my daughter, why should you care about my family business," the man says, he didn't look he was lying, the girl didn't object, but if he was really her father, then why was he being violent?

"Try again, I will not fall for you lies," Kai says boldly, "leave her alone or I will call the police."

The man laughs arrogantly, "call them, see if they would do anything, because she is my daughter, and I am going to punish her for breaking my beer bottles."

"It… it was a mistake father," the little girl finally spoke. Confirming the man was really her father.

But Kai still felt she needed saving, which parent beat a child like this for a mistake, maybe he is seeing this from a privileged eye since his parents was so loving to him and his siblings, but to him each child deserves such privileges.

"Hmph…." Kai scoffed, he then sticks his hand in his pockets taking out some powder before splashing it in the man's face before taking the girl's hand and running.

But his calculations had ben mad wrong because the man didn't fall for the trick.

While he tried taking the girl's hand the man violently held Kai's hand, "stop interfering in family business," the man says angrily before slapping Kai in the face.

Kai had angrily defended himself by hitting the man with his skateboard, the man had stumbled a little.

And he was trying to maintain his balance in all the drunkenness, but he tripped on the tree root, Kai had seen the long pole that had come out of the railing.

He had tried to catch the man before he fell on his back, he tried, but he couldn't the man felt back first on the pole piercing him until it was visible on his stomach.

Blood, there was blood everywhere, the little girl had started crying as her father was now hurt, he tried to help him up, he tried to cover the wound, he tried everything.

But all he saw was red, blood everywhere, the man was unresponsive, he checked the pulse many times, to find there wasn't a pulse. He just killed someone, it dawned on him, blood on his hands, the little girl crying for her father, he killed a man, a father.
