Special chapter 5 – Identity crisis.

Kaiden Beckett alre4ady known as the next CEO of Beckett Inc, and still with all the pressure the media and everyone has been putting on him since Zoey left for Italy instead of preparing to take over the company.

It was clear who was going to be the CEO now, he was going to start an internship at his father's company after the end of this year, before going to business school.

Kai in the other hand was in the school basketball team, he was doing great, one would say he was the star of the team.

He graduated high school valedictorian and his parents had been proud, Zoey couldn't make it to the graduation, but she sent him a gift to commemorate his graduation.

He started with the internship later that week, it was a bit challenging than he had hoped but he enjoyed every new lesson he learned.

He decided to take a year working for his father before he goes to business school.

One day he got a call from an anonymous number, he ignored the call many times but it just kept calling to a point where he got annoyed.

"what?" he angrily says answering the call, he had a few tests to get ready for and he hated how annoying the call has been.

Italy, so needed to visit home as Zoey was coming to visit soon, after two years in Italy she decided to visit home, he sure is going to give her a piece of his mind.

"I would like to meet you, please, come at the coffee shop near your dorm," a feminine voice echoes, he snorts, at this, he was curious of what this person wanted, but he was also suspicious.

Many women had tried to get him on a date so that they can get the bour of being Mrs. Beckett, and he hated this new way of getting his attention.

He angrily hung up the phone, he put on a white hoodie along with his black jeans and black sneakers before running to the coffee shop.

Whoever this woman was he is going to set the record straight, he arrived at the empty coffee shop considering it was late, to sit and wait at an empty table.

He waited for a few minutes until the door opened and two ladies came in, one was old and the other looked just his mother's age, the two women had walked to where he was sitting.

"Hi," the old lady says with tears in her eyes, "I finally get to meet you, you mother has been so cruel to keep you away from us."

The lady said to him, it made him very confused, this lady was clearly not his grandmother, he had been to all his grandparents' graves apart from his grandfather from his mother's side because he was a jerk.

"What? What are you taking about?" he says bewildered, "what did you call me here for."

"My name is Crystal Mule, I am your grandmother," the woman says still crying.

Kaiden had never felt so confused and angry at the same time, what was this woman even saying, "oh this is your step mother Layla," she says pointing at the other lady next to her.

"Are you out of your mind, you have the wrong guy," Kaiden says angrily, Clayton Beckett was his father and no one else.

He stood to walk away but the old lady stopped him, "no, please don't go, listen first, we can take a DNA test if you want, Clayton Beckett is not your father."

The lady says reaching to her purse to pull out a picture, "this man, is my son, Ellen Mule, which is your father. He is in a Psychiatric facility, only you can save him from what your evil mother did to him."

He could believe his ears, but he was sure he was Clayton's son, "hmph, I will do that DNA test and prove to you I am not your grandson," he replied angrily.

He had prepared to take the two women to get the DNA test after his semester exam.

He called his little brother to accompany him, for emotional support, after the exams he met up with the two ladies.

"So, where is this Ellen guy?" Kai asked, though Kaiden was the oldest Kai looked very buff and was taller than Kaiden which made him more intimidating.

"Why is he here?" the old lady says in fear.

"He is my brother, he can go anywhere he wants," Kaiden says.

"Now where is the Ellen guy, we are going to take the sample ourselves," Kai says in a command.

The old lady snorts at him, "I already have the sample," she replied.

"Well, we need to take the sample ourselves," Kaiden says.

"He is a psychiatric…."

"Then take us there," Kai says angrily, "like I said previously, we want to take the sample ourselves."

The ladies were hesitant, but they got into the car before Kaiden drove them to the center, it was a high security facility and they had to go through many check-ups to enter.

If he sure was an innocent man, why would they go through all this to keep him incarcerated?

They boys met Ellen Mule, who seemed to be out of it, "oh, you are the son mother talked about, you are as beautiful as your mother," Ellen says, his gaze sent shiver down Kaiden's spine, there was something wrong with all this.

"I need a hair sample," Kaiden says, trying to be polite, but his little brother was already ripping a strand of hair from the man who hissed in pain.

"You fool, get your hands off me, or I will make you pay for your father's sins," Ellen angrily growls but is restrained by the chains.

"Excuse me?" Kai asked, it was a confusion, the old lady had told them their father didn't know about Ellen, but now Ellen is acting like Clayton knew him.

"It is nothing, he is a bit angry he is arrested for nothing," the old lady says, "you have the sample let us go get the DNA test and you can rescue your father."

The lady looked at them with pleading eyes, they didn't pursue it any further as they needed to get the DNA test over and done with.

"Fine," Kaiden says, they left the center to go to the hospital to have a quick DNA test.

It took a few days until the shocking results, "what is going on?" Kaiden says in shock.

"See, I told you your mother lied," the old lady says, "now please let us go rescue your father and we also need a place to stay."

"Shut up," Kai yells, "there must be an explanation."

They hated going around their parents' back but they felt like they needed to clear up any misunderstandings now and forever. But now the misunderstanding has gotten out of control.

"What explanation? He is my grandson," the lady says boldly pointing at the paper with the results.

"Let us talk to mom and dad first before we do anything stupid Kaiden," Kai says.

"Oh, shut up you, just because your mother told you before that he is not your father's son you are acting like this," Crystal says, she had finally found a way out of poverty, and she couldn't help but be smug about it.

"What? I am just as surprised as everyone else," Kai explained.

"Hmph, surprised? You were just waiting until you are old enough so you can take over your father's company using him as a steppingstone," Layla says boldly.

"Shut up all of you," Kaiden roared.

Get his biological father out or talk to his parents first, he was unsure which one to choose, he wasn't sure what to feel either, his father had given him all the love h needed, well the man he thought was his father.

"How much do you need?" Kaiden says in a low tone, "Kaiden don't do anything harsh this…..."

"Stop it Kai, this lady is my grandmother and she said she was trouble, and I am going to help her," he said, he still felt uneasy, but the lady was clearly struggling financially, and she was his grandmother he would stand to see her struggle.

He cursed his luck this was his mother's fault; she was the one who hid this from everyone. The lady smirked before giving him an amount, Kai looked troubled, rightfully so, their family was about to be in chaos, how will their father react when he meets Ellen Mule the man his wife cheated with.
