CHAPTER ONE(1)

...The sky was gloomy that evening due to the rain that just finished pouring itself in the City of Hong Kong. The slanting rays of the setting sun gave a warm orange tinge to the sky.

In the streets of Hanzou, A young lady in black pants and a black-sleeved shirt walked past the stores located there. Her black hair which was let down rested on her waist as she clutched the purse in her hand. In the eyes of everyone whom she passed, she came off endearing and docile though she paid no one attention. Since it was close to the time of night, most vendors had retired to bed, and so as did the people around.

The young lady sauntered and seemed to not be impacted by the effect she had on the burgher who stared at her like they have found a treasure.

One bold enough, blocked her promenade and her green doe eye coldly stared at the man. Her face held a blank expression and she clutched the purse even more.

"Hello there, how do you do?" the man who had short brown wavy hair asked her.

Without speaking, the lady tried walking past him by force when he severely took hold of her hand. "Wasn't I making a speech to you? Respect your elders and answer me"

The lady sent him a glare.

Her assignment that evening was pending and she had to be at the mall before 8:00 pm else the target would be out of there making things harder. Checking the black watch wrapped around her arm, the time was 7:48 pm. Her eyes went back to the man who was blocking her way.

Foolish thing, she cursed within.

"Do I know you?" her sweet velvety voice asked the man who seemed much more smitten by her.

"We won't know if we don't sit and talk. How about-"

"I'm in no mood for this if you haven't noticed. Get your hands off my wrist," her eyes met with the man's brown eyes. "Else..," she drawled.

The man smirked in return and his grip on her hand constricted.

"And if I don't?"He dared her, tilting his head.

Her eyes took in the man's appearance until they fell on his left finger where a small golden band rested on his third finger. He was married.

"If you want your wife widowed, keep holding on," she coldly rolled the words out of her mouth.

The man kept on holding her hand and he let out a bitter chuckle.

"That slut of a wife? She keeps bitching herself out. So why can't I? Don't even remind me of the whore"

The lady smiled for the first time that evening. In a split second, her free hand reached for her purse and brought out a pocket knife.

Without wasting a second, she slit his throat and pierced the knife into his eyes which made the man let go of her hand immediately.

She had slit his throat in a way that he would survive but enough to teach him to be a loyal husband.

"If I let you, you would rape me? Pathetic fellow! I'm sorry for hurting you, but I have somewhere to be"

Without speaking another word, she slipped out of the area. The man called for help and the few people who witnessed it couldn't help but open their mouths in awe. The man's throat and eyes bled profusely as he cried out.

The lady walked a far distance and turned to look at the man with a smirk. Shrugging her shoulders, she kept on walking and in a few minutes, she reached the front of a mall.

Looking for a free car, she relaxed her back on it and closed her eyes, letting the evening wind scatter her hair.

After resting for a little while, she opened her eyes to check the time which was 7:58 pm.

Two minutes to go, she thought. Her hand reached for her pocket and she pulled out an image of a man.

The target.

She aimed to give him a quick kill and leave the area so that none would see her. Since it was evening and most people had retired to bed, things would go smoothly. Or so she thought.

She brought out a balaclava from her purse and fixed it on her head. Checking the time again, it was 7:59 pm. A smile adorned her face, one that could not be seen by any due to the way the balaclava covered it.

The door to the mall opened and the lady became alert immediately. If it was her target, then she had to be quick.

Unfortunately, it was a middle-aged woman with short wavy black hair. The woman dressed in a sophisticated manner and no one needed to be told the woman was affluent.

The woman checked her phone which she held in her hand alongside what she bought from the mall.

Making her way to a limited edition Rolls-Royce phantom flanked by bodyguards, she was cornered by four men who were dressed the same way. Blue pants, blue shirts, and a matching blue face cap looking like ordinary citizens .

Before the body guards could react, these "citizens" had surrounded the woman and with a gun to her head, she was led into a pick up truck with tainted windows.

During this time, the woman's bodyguards had been outnumbered and some even killed in the scuffle.

****

An Lixia who had been waiting for her target saw something more interesting unveil right before her. The men carried the woman and swiftly put her into the truck.

"Quick, we have to be smart, remember we can't fail," one of the men ordered the rest and they all climbed into the car.

The one who took the role of driving swiftly jumped into the vehicle and fished out the key.

He had only inserted it when the window next to the driver broke and crashed.

"Fuck," the driver cursed. The last thing he felt was a hand grabbing and hitting his head on the uneven edge of the car that had shattered. His head was hit continuously until a glass piece pierced him deep and he fell on the car seat, lifeless.

A slow grunt was heard in the car as the woman they had kidnapped became awake. The other men in the car started shaking in fear. Everything had happened so godly fast that they had nothing to think about apart from their dead partner.

A gunshot echoed in the air, followed by others until everyone in the car dropped dead, except the woman who quickly grabbed her phone to call the police.

She had only woken up to the sounds of glass and gunshots and her brain could not think properly. She attempted to run away from that environment in fear for her life when her legs stepped on the broken shards of glass and she shrieked.

"Easy there, ma'am. I'm calling the ambulance already, for your own good, stay put," a soft feminine voice ordered and the woman turned to the person who just spoke and frowned.

An Lixia had given up on her target that night to help this woman who she believed to be the victim of circumstances.

"Who..who..who are you?" the woman asked in a shaky voice, apparently scared.

From what she guessed, the lady in front of her was the one who killed the other men in the car and it worried her if she was next.

As if sensing her worries, she calmly replied,"I am An Lixia, and I proudly say I've saved your life. I repeat, stay put, the ambulance would be hear anything soon".

Her gaze softened seeing the woman shake in fear and she sighed. "Worry not ma'am I am not after your life. You were almost kidnapped and I..."

An Lixia's words were cut short on hearing the sound of the ambulance.

"They are here...faster than I expected," as she stared distantly at the coming ambulance.
