Vanessa noticed Dimitri narrowing his eyes, but he swiftly fixed his expression upon catching her gaze. Without hesitation, she approached her husband and planted a gentle kiss on his cheeks, dispelling any hint of doubt he might have had.

"I was about to surprise you but I heard some noise earlier so I didn't go in, and peeked through that door when it turned silent. I figured you were already done with the conversation and that's when your guard saw me and ruined my surprise," Vanessa pouted pretending to be disappointed and Dimitri smiled at her.

"And what is the surprise?" He asked before sitting on his office chair and pulling Vanessa gently to sit on his lap.
