CHAPTER 23

  Darian watched as the couples stepped out, holding each other's hands tightly, with a glimpse of hope in their eyes.

  "What exactly do you intend to do to help get their daughter back?" He inquired, glancing over at a blank-looking Simba.

  "I want to believe you heard me clearly when I said I would try to figure something out, but now I tell you I have nothing to do about it this minute."

  "Take a deep breath," Darian advised. "Why do you look so blue?"

  Simba huffed a tired breath, "the last thing I want is to be in a brawl with Dylan."

  "Oh please, you are also an alpha of your own. It's your duty to look out for your pack members. Something would have to be done whether you like it or not."

  "I can't go back to that pack. My self-respect matters a whole lot to me."
