CHAPTER 56

Diane looked dazed at the entrance hoping her brother would walk back in. Sitting rigidly on the bed, she folded into herself, her eyes laced with tears. This was the first time she would have such a closed-up conversation with her twin brother in a long time. Dylan had always acted so cold one would think he had no heart inside of him.

For years she had hated her brother, thinking he was the main reason behind her not ending up with her supposed one true love. What she couldn't understand was why Douglas would play such a game till the end. He had acted so hurt and shattered when he heard about her betrothal to Ralph. After she wrote to him, he sent a heart-wrenching letter expressing how much he wished to kill himself. In her blinded love for him, Diane kept the letter as a reminder of how much she had been loved. To make matters worse, and why it's so hard for her to let go of Douglas's memory, she had brought the letter along with her.
