  Mona's heart pumped faster than usual as the carriage made its return to the packhouse. Her wolf appears more eager than she was. If Dylan didn't have any intimate moment with his concubine that day, then it means he had been saying the truth to her all this while.

  She had been too blindsided by his past attitude towards her; it made her feel doubtful about everything else he told her. Guilt gnawed at her thoughts as she remembered the awful things Mona had said to him to hurt him just like he had done to her. Mona felt like a beast on a revenge rampage; it made her feel dirty knowing she wasn't such a spiteful person.

  Upon reaching the packhouse, she walked further towards the study, where one of the guards had informed her he would be. Mona held up her head, trying not to look defeated. Knocking on the door slightly, she opened it to usher herself in. Dylan and Foden were seated together, looking quite busy.
