CHAPTER 27 – Mark

“I want to go see Jenny!” Casper stomps his foot and pouts as he glares at me. After a few seconds, he then turns his efforts to my mother, who is standing beside me and appears unphased.

Our son has got my talent for making the cutest little faces to get his way. But he is forgetting I’m the king of it and my mom is immune to it, after dealing with me for years.

I smile at him and gently put my hands on his shoulders. “Cass, you will only be allowed to visit Jenny if you behave. I’m not sure about grandma, but in my book, whining to get your way is not called behaving. Now stop whining, pouting, or whatever you think you can do to get your way.”

My mom presses her lips together and shuffles Casper off. “Should we make something to take to your mommy? Maybe an afternoon snack she can eat?”

Casper reluctantly agrees as he is trying to fight back a smile, trying to pop out.
