EP 92 - FORGOTTEN.

Things were going great with Blaire. She was a really great girl. Not only was she smart , funny and unresistably cute She also had the heart of an angel. She worked in a community centre that catered for homeless people as Blaire did everything with a smile. Sometimes she would even ask Obi to go along too to help out.

Obi and Blaire had gone out a few times keeping their relationship simply as just friendship but one night came and all that changed. They had gone to the movies to see the new release of a scary Horror Movie called "Silence : Will you dare to Speak?""

It was an r-rated movie and viewers discretion was strongly advised but teenagers never do listen ...

Am I right?

Obi. and Blaire got tickets to the movie and sat down when the film started. It was some zany film about a serial Killer and Blaire was scared throughout the entire movie while Obi laughed at various intervals during the first scenes.

Blaire rested her head on Obi's shoulder but in the middle of the movie when Obi wanted to comment on the film, She angled her head to meet him and their lips touched.

It was electrifying and neither of them made any move to pull back. Blaire's head went wonky for a second but then she broke the kiss leaving both of them breathless. Obi looked deep into her eyes and She felt something pull inside her that she wanted so badly to express.

"Tobi I ..."

Obi said nothing but stood up and raised her up with him. They went behind the theatre as they stood in the cold air. Frisking his hands together , Obi said in a low tone.

"I'm sorry."

Blaire was startled. "For what?"

"That Kiss. It was a mistake and we are just friends." He said all at once feeling embarrassed. "It won't happen again."

Blaire smiled sweetly and held his hand. "Tobi ... I want it to happen again and again."

She connected her mouth with his and gave Obi a satisfying kiss as he pressed her against the wall. Blaire put her hands around his neck and he placed his above her waist as they osculated right there in the darkened alley lit up only by a single streetlight behind the theatre.

"Stop." She muttered against his lips as he took his mouth of hers.

"What's wrong? Is my mouth smelling?..."Obi asked passionately.

"No." Blaire replied. "The kissing was great but I think we're moving too fast. Tobi , If you want to be my boyfriend , We'll go on a few more dates , Get to know each other better and this can come after."

The word 'Boyfriend' hit Obi hard. He had never had a real girlfriend before..

All his other girlfriends were usually imaginary.

Bottom line was that It had never even crossed his mind to have one.

Obi gulped and pointed to himself. "Me? You want me to be your boyfriend?"

Blaire gave him a dangerous smile . "It won't hurt to give it a try." She kissed him again and then they headed home.

And that's how they had started dating.

Whatever way you said it , it made sense.

They went out on a lot of dates and when you say a lot ... I mean a lot , getting closer and knowing more about each other.

On an eventful day , before leaving the house in the morning, Tasha called out to Obi as she packed up Ada's lunch. There was no school that day for Obi so he had the whole day to goof off. "Obi , I need to talk to you."

Obi quickly responded as he held his phone texting Blaire. "Yes mom."

Tasha zipped up Ada'a lunch pack and called her down to get it. "Today I'm going to be closing late from work so I need you to pick up Ada from school."

"Uh huh.Okay." Obi said obviously not listening.

"You need to get her by 3:00pm , do you hear me Obi?"

"Of course he isn't. He's busy texting Blaire." Ada mimicked as she made smooching noises.

"You rascal..." Obi made to grab her.

"Alright Ada." Tasha smiled as she took her younger daughter's hand half dragging her to the car. "Stop teasing your brother and let's go ."

Relieved to hear the old engine of their vehicle leaving the driveway. Obi continued texting Blaire. When she told him that she has just finished her work in the community centre , he picked her up and they went to the arcade to have fun.

Time was passing by as Ada sat alone on a seat. School had closed hours ago but Obi wasn't there to pick her up. Had she done something wrong without her knowledge and this was his way of getting back at her ?

A cold wind blew through the window of the classroom as she shivered using her arms to warm herself. Coming up to her and handing her his sweater was her classmate, Will. They rarely spoke in class but always gave each other a distant 'Hello'. It seems his parents had also been late in picking him up and that was very surprising since he was always the first to go home.

"Thanks." She smiled as he wrapped it over her shoulder . It had already begun raining as it was falling more heavily now.

"Your mom didn't pick you?" Will asked.

"No. She's very busy. My brother was supposed to. What of your dad?" Ada deflected any further questions."He went to a business meeting and told my brother to pick me up but he's running late." Will answered truthfully as he took a seat beside her. "Brothers, huh?"

"My brother isn't like that." Ada defended Obi. "I'm sure he's just occupied but he's coming to pick me up right now."

"Alright." Will grinned.

Time kept on passing as Will's brother came to pick him up to go home. Handing over his Sweater, Ada waved to him and he waved back. She had totally misjudged Will and was going to start warming up to him. His brother was apologising profusely to their home room teacher , Miss Beth, that couldn't leave until all the students left.

Taking his little brother by the hand , they got into his car and left. Ada was still waiting for Obi to come but the day was getting darker.

But he didn't come.

Miss Beth looked at the time.

It was already 5:30pm .

She glanced sympathetically at Little Ada. She also wondered why Mrs Tasha hadn't come to pick up her child.

Deciding to take matters into her own hands, she went to Ada who was how shivering with cold.

"Dear , do you know where you live? Could you go home by yourself ?"

Ada nodded .

Miss Beth then took her hand and led her out of the classroom. Taking her small umbrella that was meant only for one, Miss Beth managed to adjust it to cover Ada...barely.

And with that both walked under the heavy rain.

Obi was smiling as he came home. The air was sweeter and melodies clearer as he stepped on his porch. Opening the door, he shocked by what he saw. He saw Miss Beth Bumblebee speaking to his mother who also had a shocked expression on her face. Someone was sitting on a barstool near the counter soaking wet. Wait ...he recognised the purple bag.

Ada!!!!

F*** he had forgot all about her . He was having so much fun at the arcade with Blaire and her friends, that he totally spaced on picking his little sister. If it were John and the others they would have surely reminded him.

Tasha took in a deep breath. "Well thank you very much Miss Beth. I really appreciate it and such a thing won't happen again." She said.

Miss Beth smiled politely and left the house heading towards her home.

Tasha hugged her daughter and told her to run a hot shower and go rest in bed. Ada turned to look at Obi. She seemed disappointed in him.

He'd failed her.

She slowly started up the stairs shaking, wheezing and coughing all the way. Tasha continued her cooking , humming a fast beat as she set out the plates.

That meant she was really pissed.

She carefully omitted his plate and dished out only her and Ada's food . She had made her famous recipe of Grandma's Chicken Soup which made Obi's mouth water.

"Mom...." He said as he went closer to her.

Tasha made no move to reply.

"I'm sorry..."

"Why are you sorry Tobi Brown ? You're sorry? For abandoning your sister for three good hours and you're doing what?" Tasha yelled at him.

Obi couldn't bring himself to say that he was out with Blaire. That would spell the ultimate end of their relationship.

"Mom I'm really sorry..."

Now your sister is sick in bed from a cold because of you."Tasha yelled at him and Obi stood there and took it because he deserved even worse "I was so worried about the both of you that I almost had hyper..." She stopped herself and continued. "It isn't me you need to apologise to." She pointed upstairs.

Obi ran upstairs to his sister's room. She was dressed in her favourite anime pyjamas as she covered herself with a blanket , shaking like a leaf. He knelt down by her side and touched her burning forehead.

"Hey Ada. What's up?

She said nothing.

'So you are giving me the silent treatment too huh?' he thought silently.

"I got you some sweet headphones!" He lied just to make her excited.

Ada just turned away from him.

"I'm sorry Okay. Please forgive me."

Ada then spoke. "Just tell me Obi , Did you forget about me?"

Obi felt guilty and could say nothing. Ada said no more.

Just then Tasha came in holding a bowl of Soup and sat Ada up to feed her. Obi couldn't take it anymore. He went downstairs and saw his food on the table but didn't have any appetite. He unlocked the door and sat on the porch looking up at the starless night with tears in his eyes.

How could he have forgotten Ada , his beloved little sister that took him as a father figure , his baby Sister he had been with for years with...

For Just half a day with Blaire?

Ever since he started dating her , he felt different from who he used to be. But it didn't matter. It was love ...

Wasn't it?

These days he had even began to doubt that himself.
