"What the F*** are you talking about?! Killed who?" Conrad answered startled as he resisted Percival's assault. "One time I'm not with you guys and Percival has gone crazy."
"You shot them! Murdered them in cold blood!"
"But You know , even if he killed them he still saved our lives so..." Avyanna shrugged. "Works for me."
"I didn't kill anybody . I'm telling you guys." The brown haired man cut in as he dusted himself up.
"We have our bandits but the only problem is that they are dead and we don't know who killed them." Kyra placed a hand on Conrad's shoulder and smiled reassuringly. "But we trust you."
"Speak for yourself." Levi pushed his hands into his pocket as Avyanna shot him a menacing glare. "What? Don't look at me like I'm the one that did it."
"Levi is right!" The Paladin enjoined, accusing Conrad still handling his sword. "If he didn't do it , who did?"
Conrad did not say anything but looked towards Kyra . She tried to hide but she still had that doubtful glint in her eyes. She didn't believe him.
None of them did.
He lowered his head , squeezing his hands tightly and turned them into fists. "None of you believe me do you? You think I killed them."
"Conrad its not that we don't trust you , its just that..." Avyanna sighed as she opened her palms in a demonstrative manner. "The facts are just to exact to be displaced."
"No judgment here but come on..." The demoness wrapped a hand around his shoulders amicably . "No one could make perfect shots like that except you."
Conrad's countenance changed as his expression became gloomy. He slipped out of his friend's grip and turned away in the other direction. "Even you Kyra ..." He muttered under his breath. He took out his pistols and began walking away , determined to show them.
"Where are you Going?" Percival shouted out to him.
He turned back and grinned. "To prove all you suckers wrong."
"So you think he's ever going to come back?" Avyanna queried as she stood by Kyra's side watched the brave and valorous man , walk away slowly. His foot struck a stone and he lost his balance and fell flat in his face.
"Ouch!" She winced.
"My money is on, he gets trapped by a sphinx again." Levi retorted.
He gave them a thumbs up and got up and continued limping on one foot muttering 'Ow' constantly.
"He's gonna get eaten alive." Kyra sighed.

"Just give up now. The quicker you die , the sooner you'll get to join Robin.." Knox smiled sickly. 'Wherever she is."
He caught a ruffling movement in the bush in front of him and shook his head in disappointment. Knox carefully approached the hedge and pulled them apart , only to see a rabbit dart away into another coverage.
"Stop playing games Jayden. You can't hide forever."
The other man gave a sly grin from his hidden position ,as he took out his weapon.
"Who said anything about hiding?"
Swish!!!!
Knox didn't see it coming until it was too late. The sharp bladed metal flew through the air. He was not able to dodge on time as the boomerang races by him , tearing a cut in his forearm. Knox groaned but he was not going to get hit this time around. He had anticipated Jayden's only possible reaction and had been able to mark his location the instant he threw his boomerang.
He shifted his body to avoid the rebounding weapon and cocked his guns expertly , releasing two bullet from his gun. A thud was heard and he sighed satisfactorily to himself .
Jayden gurgled as he choked on his blood. He was dying. No more money . No more fantastic life in somewhere far away. His entire life flashed before his eyes and he saw that he had wasted half of it. Stealing for others, always being on the run. The only bright time in his miserable shotty life was when he met Robin.
"Seems we aren't going to get that house after all babe." Jayden groaned as blood filled up his entire chest cavity. "Maybe next time."
Knox strolled over and saw that his cartridge had caught him in arm and chest. He gave him a hard kick to the ribs but Jayden did not respond.
He was stone cold dead.
His plan was complete. He had finally taken care of all of them . All that was left was those pesky adventurers.
"Best to leave that lot alone." Knox said to himself as he made to move away. He was lucky enough to have been able to get rid of his mates but any man that depended on luck had better had a lot of it and Knox was not ready to take any more chances.
He returned his pistol to his pocket and went back to the cave where the gold lay untouched and began packing them into sack bags for his quick escape. He only stopped when he heard the cock of a firearm behind him .
"Hands up in the air and turn around slowly." Conrad said pointing the trigger at him.
Knox felt for his gun and was reassured when he felt the slight bulge in his waistcoat. It would be easy for him to reach if things with this unwanted problem went sideways.
Conrad face turned stern as he suddenly came on the realization of who he was looking at.
"You! You're that guard from the prison. So you're the evil mastermind."
Knox clapped his hands slowly and replied in exaggerated tone . "Bravo. You're so smart for figuring that out."
"Thank you."
"I didn't mean it as a compliment...Ugh." He dropped the sack of heavy gold he had heaped inside to the ground and folded his hands. "Its just me and you. How about you let me go and we'll share the loot 50/50."
"I've seen what happened to your other partners so no thanks." Conrad retorted sharply. "And by the way my conscience isn't for sale."
Knox hand wandered as he began reaching for his gun. 'So what are we going to do now?"
Conrad lowered his own weapon. A costly mistake on his part. "You are going to come with me back to the village to confess your crimes. You'll serve your time according to the law."
Knox grinned.
"
"You see boy..." He paused for a moment and lowered his head suspiciously. "That doesn't just sit right me..."
