Chapter 5: Ace's Weird Behavior

I stared at the door where Ace came out. What the hell is going on him, earlier he was looking at Louis with such a bad look that if it was just a deadly glare, his friend was probably buried where he was standing right now.

That man is so moody sometimes…

“Are you okay?” I was brought back to reality when Louis spoke.

I sighed and resumed eating, “What do you think is happening at him? He's not like that, I never saw him like that until today that he act on it,” I said and sighed again while looking at the food in front of me.

He laughed softly because of what I pointed out, “Get used to that one, maybe he's just scared,” he said and took some food.

I frowned because of what he said, “What and where is he afraid of?” I asked, but he only answered my question with a smile.

I sighed again before finishing the food on my plate. Ace and I have been friends for a few years now, but I've only seen him act like that, especially in front of food.

When I finished what I ate, I stood up and took what I ate to the sink to wash. I lost my appetite because of what happened, I still can't stand him acting like that…

“Are you okay, Ash?” asked Louis, I didn't notice that he was already standing by my side, “You're thinking so deeply,” he added.

I raised an eyebrow at him, “Did you dive it?” I asked as he frowned.

“Huh? What?” he asked, confused.

“I'm asking if you do dive what I'm thinking for you to say it's deep,” I said and looked at him. He laughed because of that and put the plate he used in the sink.

There was only a little space between the two of us which I didn't pay attention to, instead I also soaped the plate he used.

“You're also a sarcastic person, Ash. huh?” I raised an eyebrow at what he said. He has been calling me Ash for a while now.

“Call me Scar or Scarlet and not Ash,” I said.

“Hmm,” he looked up while holding his chin as if he was thinking, “I don't want to, I'll call you Ash and that's final.”

“Scarlet!” I insisted.

“Ash!” he said teasingly.

“It's Scarlet,” I said, annoyed. I accidentally drop the plate I was holding because of shock when suddenly someone pulled him away.

“Get out!” Ace shouted at Louis, who was holding his jaw.

“Don't be like that to him!” I sat, picking up the pieces of broken glass.

“Don't pick it up, you might get hurt!” Ace reprimanded and tried to take the glass pieces I was holding, while he also tried to move my hand so that I wouldn't be able to pick them up again.

“Ace is right. You may get hurt, let me be the one that will clean that,” Louis replied. My eyes widened when Ace suddenly pulled me away and took the shattered glass from my hand and put them on the sink before pulling me out of the kitchen.

“So protective, bud, I won't do anything silly.” Louis shouted with laughter from the kitchen.

I just looked behind Ace as he held my hand and was still pulling me up the stairs. I can't do anything but to follow him if I don't want to be dragged and tripped.

“Slow down, human, you're walking so fast,” I said, so he slowed down a bit.

“What happened to you?” I asked that makes Ace frown. “Your aura was dark earlier, as if you were cursing Louis to death,” I added.

He remained silent and chose not to answer me. I just held my breath until we got to the other room with all glass walls. You can also saw what happenings even if you're inside this house.

I was holding my wrist when he finally let go of my hand. I winced when I saw that it was red, he was holding my hand quite tightly. I gazed at him for a minute before approaching the wall and watching the rain fall outside.

“D-Does your wrist hurt?” Ace stuttered and grabbed my hand to look at my red wrist.

I just nodded to him and took my hand from his grip. “I'm sorry,” he said and stood next to me.

“What happened to you?” I ask, yet

he didn't say anything to me and kept looking outside.

“Whoy!” I screamed, “I'm asking you,” I added.

He just sighed and shook his head. I sighed and looked at him closely, “Are you sure? You can tell me.” He looked me in the eye for a long time before looking away.

“Don't mind me,” he said.

I rolled my eyes at him, “You're a mess, you're not like that.” I got up and walked away.

“Scar!” he called, making me stop walking. I looked at him for a long time while raising one eyebrow, “Stay here,” he said.

“I'm pissed with you,” I sat down on the sofa and looked at him evilly, “It's obvious that you're thinking about something, and he has a reason for doing it, but you're not saying it,” I was disappointed.

He sighed and sat in front of me, “That's okay, stay here… okay?” he asked, but instead of answering I just made him suffer.

“Are you mad?” he asked, but I remained silent.

It's annoying, I look like a fortuneteller to know what is the reason for his actions.

“Scar,” he said softly, but I just looked at him and raised an eyebrow. “Don't be angry.”

“Why are you acting like that? Are you angry with your friend?” I asked.

He sighed, “The truth is I don't know why I'm upset,” he said.

“He's not doing anything bad, he's just talking to me and offers friendship,” I promised and tormented him.

“TSS,” he said, “I guess you're changing me.” He said sulkily and squinted. I laughed softly because of what he said, you thought you could replace that one as your best friend.

“Be honest with me, Ace…Are you jealous?” I asked while looking at him.
