BETRAYAL

Lesley and Felicity enjoyed Rex’s company, who seemed to be a psychopath, especially Felicity who in the past few days had been spending her days around Rex, after all, they were on a holiday hence no school.

“ Now that I’m worn out and I can’t play anymore, why don’t you guys tell me what makes each one of you special? I’m still in the process of getting to know you better, “Rex said gobbling down a piece of sandwich.

“ My sister goes first! “ Lesley declared.

“ Well, “Felicity started tingling Rex’s hair around her finger,” Well, a pretty face is what makes me special, don’t you think so? “She asked smiling at Rex.

“ Mmmmmh, what of Lesley? “

“My birthmark, it’s so special,” Lesley muttered as she unbuttoned her dress, exposing a black birthmark that was in the shape of a piece of a broken heart.

Rex seemed to be taken aback that he was unable to converse distinctly.

“How come we share such a birthmark? I also have it and I thought of it to be too exceptional for someone else to have it,” Rex claimed.

“It’s just a mere coincidence,” Felicity said shrugging her shoulders, “I mean, are you gonna imply that you two are soulmates or something?”

“That’s ridiculous Glenda!” Lesley said buttoning her dress with Rex’s help.

“It’s Felicity!” She shouted holding her fists, “You know what, I’m going to my room.”

Felicity flashed outside angrily.

“I’ll go see what’s wrong with her,” Lesley suggested.

“I think you should give her some space. Seems she is in a huff and who knows, she might vent out her anger on you.”

“She has been acting quite peculiar since you came,” Lesley whispered.

“ Did you say something, Lesley?”

“ No, forget about it. I guess I’ll go now. How about we play later?”

“ Okay then.”

Rex watched Lesley amble away and shut the door.

Lesley spotted Felicity sobbing on the patio and wearily advanced toward her.

“Felicity, are you okay?” she sullenly asked her, being well aware of her short temper.

“I hate you, Lesley!” Felicity yelled wiping her tears away.

“What have I done Felicity? Please, make me understand.”

“Everyone loves you, Lesley! They all choose you over me!”

“What are saying, Felicity? Mom, grandma, uncle, and Rex love us equally. And papa, although he is not fond of us, he doesn’t treat me any better than he treats you, does he?”

“You’re wrong. I have noticed it for some time now!” she replied lividly.

“Look Felicity, I know you are acting this way because of Rex. I have been noticing your odd behavior towards him for quite some time now but I would advise you to back off. We’re teens now and you very well know this is wrong.”

Felicity shrugged off her shoulders and faced the opposite side.

Out of the blue, came their mother, Daphne.

They both jovially ran towards her.

“Mommy!” They hugged her.

“Yes, my angels.”

On the spur of the moment, a furious roar was heard from Mrs. Salvador's compartment.

“Wait here,” Daphne said and flitted to Mrs. Salvador’s chic enclosure where Hugo and Bruce too were.

“Mom, are you okay?”

Mrs. Salvador seemed to be so enraged that her face had turned crimson.

“How can I be okay when that daughter of a bitch Bruce invited to my house stole and ran away with my money!”

“Lady Charm,” Daphne mumbled and fixed her gaze on Bruce, who in turn gave her a dirty look.

“Bruce, you have to bring back my money no matter what or be ready to pay it back! I warned you from the start that that woman is a snake but you thought I was stupid! Why do you even think Leo Panthera never wanted her in the organization?!” Mrs. Salvador argued angrily, frowning at Bruce.

“What organization? So you all know Charm?” Daphne queried in a miasma of bewilderment.

Mrs. Salvador, Hugo, and Bruce exchanged weird stares as Daphne looked at Mrs. Salvador, demanding an answer.

“Ummm, never mind whatever mom said. It’s nothing important after all,” Hugo explained smiling at Daphne, who didn’t seem to be convinced at all.

“But I deserve to know about it, don’t I?” she insisted.

“Daphne! Stop! You’re not making the situation any better with your endless questions for Chris sake! Just do us some good and leave for Chris’s Sake bellowed, raising his hand, almost slapping Daphne.

Hurt and terrified by Bruce’s behavior, Daphne ran outside, leaving the door wide open.

“ Arrggh! “ Bruce roared and he too left the room, slamming the door behind him.

He dashed outside to the car parking basement, where he drove away in his Lamborghini.

Along the way to Charm’s home, he made countless calls to her, with none of them being answered.

“Fuck it!” He shrieked and angrily threw his phone on the passenger’s seat beside him.

In due time, he was at Charm’s place, where he found her busy packing her stuff in her car.

“Charm!” he yelled running towards her but was suddenly stopped by a group of about five muscular men, who were elegantly dressed in black suits.

“Charm, how could you do this? Where is that briefcase you took on the night I invited you for dinner at our home?!”

“I’m not that cheap Bruce!” Charm harshly lashed out.

“But the cameras spotted you and now I have to pay for your mistake! How could you betray me!”

“Sorry Bruce, I have to go. I’ll miss your bulge lover boy.”

Charm winked and waved at Bruce then documented into her car before it was driven off, leaving a thick cloud of dust behind.

Bruce was helpless as the men laid their firm grips on his arms.

All he could do was shout, even though it didn’t even help save the situation.

Later that day, he went back home so sloshed that he could not even steadily stand on his feet.

Mrs. Salvador was so disappointed that she hit him hard with his stick.

“You’re such a disappointment, Bruce. I curse the day I gave birth to you! Bruce, you have to get back on your feet!”

“M-m-moth,” he stammered.

“If you don’t rise, Hugo will be the one to head the organization after Leo! “
