MASKED

"Plan number one,” Lesley began as she dressed her wound,” I need you to call Rex as an anonymous person. Tell him to bring you 50, million Euros for you to release me.”

“That's a huge amount, “Clark asserted.

“An amount that he can afford to convey. And then we'll double cross him afterwards.”

“What do you plan to do with it ?”

“If only you trained your mind to think a little bit faster, then you’d comprehend. His contact number is written there,” Lesley said pointing at a tattered sheet of paper in the table,” Direct him to the Mullienos woods.”

Lesley walked Clark outside where she conducted her daily combat training with Clark.

Rex was on his daily activities for Lesley's search when he received a call that scared him out of his wits.

He swiftly rushed back home whereby he Bruce swimming at the pool in the company of some girl.

“I found Lesley!” He exclaimed as he huffed and bent to support himself on his knees.

“Go wait for me in my room babe,” he whispered to the lass and spanked her ass.

"What do you mean you found her?!”He then questioned Rex in disbelief.

“I mean we're close to finding her uncle. Some guy called me just a while ago and said he has her,” Rex explained.

“What now?” Bruce asked harshly.

“He wants cash and I've been trying to contact Aunt Daphne but she's not responding! Where did you say she went again?”

“How I'm I supposed to know?” Bruce asked as he shrugged of his shoulders and gobbled down the last sip of his drink," Ciao."

“He's losing it,” Rex muttered in bummer and surged inside.

He hastily shuffled to Hugo, his father's chamber and locked himself inside.

He proceeded to his closet, where he took a briefcase that was supplied with a huge number of notes.

Ascertaining no one had spotted him, he carried it to his car and drove off.

"I'll save you Lesley, “he whispered under his breath as he drove to the specified location.

Being dog obedient, he took a halt a few meters from the exact place and proceeded on foot towards the rather quiet and thick…forest.

As soon as he reached the periphery of the grove, he felt a sharp pain at the back of his head, his vision became blurred and he passed out.

Lesley took the briefcase Rex had brought along and kissed his hand before she disappeared into the woods.

By the time he came about, it was all too late. The cash was gone.

“Fuck it!” He shrieked as he hopelessly trudged to his automobile. He knew he couldn't dare say a word to the authorities regarding the issue as it would lead to the illumination that he was the one who stole go father's cash, which would in turn bear a bigger problem than what he was already facing.

He drove straight to bar where he intoxicated himself with some shots.

At around midnight was when security phoned Hugo to take him as he was completely out of his wits.

On arrival, Hugo gave Rex several punches on the face out of rage, before he drove him home.

"I don't wanna imagine that it's my own cash you have used in furnishing this family's name in the pubs! “Hugo shouted attracting everyone's attention to the living room.

“Hugo!” Mrs. Salvador exclaimed, “What’s going on here that I can't have peace of my d in my own house?!”

"Why don't you direct that question to your worthless grandson?!" Hugo shot back.

“Rex,” Mrs. Salvador muttered as she verged on to Rex who lay on the sofa,” What happened to you son?"

“Go on! Tell her you stole my money and got yourself drank!"

“Hugo, stop! Can’t you see he ain't okay?! Nanny, summon the doctor right away!”

"Okay. Defend him all you want! I'm not done with you dumb ass!” Hugo pointed his finger at Rex and prodded up the spiral flight of stairs.

Lesley contemptuously calculated the money in the briefcase with Clark’s assistance.

“I'm changing my identity,” Lesley bubbled.

“What do you mean?”

On the spur of the moment, there was a knock at the door.

Lesley responded to it, whereby to a rather pudgy man with fizzy blonde hair joined them.

“Dr. Fernandez, I suppose?”

“Yes, you're right,” the man talked grinning at Lesley,” you've really grown since the last time I saw you when you were still a young girl.”

“I’d appreciate it if we went straight to business Dr. Fernandez.”

"Well, I have no intentions of wasting your time Mrs. Derdwood. I'll start by examining your face first and then we can settle on the reconstructions later.”

"What's this all about?” Clark questioned as he narrowed his eyes at the medic.

“How 'bout you conduct your questioning later babe. Doctor, let's go on.”

Lesley lay on the couch as the medic browsed her face.

“I think everything is good miss. Have you made up your mind already? This is a risky step I must say.”

“Only those who play win. Only those who risk win. History favors risk-takers. Forgets the timid, ”Lesley vocalized.

Without further ado, the doctor fished an EML cream tube, which he carefully rubbed all over Lesley’s face, after which he took out the injections too.

“Bethany, what is this? You are adding fillers?” Clark interrupted.

“I know what I'm doing. You got nothing to worry about.”

“You should have at least consulted me first, “Clark grumbled raising his voice a bit.

“I don't need your permission for whatever I do in my life. You're wasting my time!”

Clark dashed outside after rudely slamming the fragile wooden door.

The doctor proceeded with injecting the fillers in Lesley's cheeks and her nasal area.

“Don't worry. The reddening and itchiness is typical and will go away in a few days. The results can become noticeable after 24-48 hours. The do’s and don'ts for now are well indicated and illustrated in this booklet. Any queries?”

"No. I can handle myself. Here's the payment,” Lesley uttered handing over an envelope to him.

“Thank you. If you have any questions or complaints, I’m just a call away. I’ll take my leave now.”

Lesley watches the man amble outside and shuffled to their bedroom where she stood in front of the mirror that was adjacent to the closet.

She clenched her jaws to avoid shedding tears as she gazed at the unknown shade of herself she never even dreamt of.

However, she could hold the heartbreak no longer and she fell to the floor in a disheveled heap as her grief poured out in a flood of uncontrollable tears.

“Bethany!”

She got a hold of herself and rubbed her palms against her cheeks in an attempt to wipe away her tears, on hearing Clark's voice.
