Chapter 13: A Doll In The Sea

Somewhere far away from Arkvem City.

In the ocean of the North Sea lies the Whale Islands, a particular group of islands that was always surrounded by whales of all kinds, these whales were said to protect these islands, hence its name. Many had though that these group of islands have a treasure hidden deep within and in the past, many had come here to find such a treasure only to find that it was tightly guarded by whales that were 14 meters long and 3.5 meters tall. Quite large for a whale.

Many had died before even shipping ashore on the islands and some had managed to enter the islands, only to not be seen forever again.

This was why many in the past had steered clear of the islands as they knew that it was a danger zone with hidden dangers everywhere. But this was just in the past.

A man was rowing a boat towards such islands.

He wore a long robe and had a lantern on his hand, the lantern shone in a blue light, which was odd considering only fire with hotter temperature would be able to produce such blue colored flame. He looked at the group of islands infront of him, then shone the lantern towards it, the whales that were protecting the islands saw that light and came up from the deep.

First it was one, then two, then four….

Until there were hundreds of them with the smallest being atleast 20 meters long and 5 meters tall.

The whales looked at him and uttered a small cry or a melody that sounded out through the sea. Suddenly, the sea suddenly shook as if an earthquake happened.

The whales sang a lullaby that was eerie yet calming and soothing, as if they were a mother gently caring for their child. The song lasted for a few minutes before the sea shook once again, then large hands the size of a building shot up from the deepest depths of the ocean and opened its closed palms.

The man shone his lantern towards the palm and looked at the figure infront of him.

The light from the lantern shown a few key traits of his face, but because it was always cloudy since the beginning of the epidemic, it was as if there was no sunlight, forcing the people of this era to use candles or to resort into using fire wood for light.

His red eyes shone even when shone under the light of the blue lantern.

He looked at the figure in the palms of the giant hands and let out a depressing smile. "I can't believe that the Doll of the Sea is literally a doll IN the sea…"

Yes, what he saw was a doll between the gaps of the gigantic palms.

Long white hair that seemed to stretch to eternity, pale white porcelain skin that almost looked like marbles, she mostly had human like body with bipedal limbs but what gave him the knowledge of it not being human due to how it looked like. It was far too heavenly for a human appearance, it also had joints that he could physically see.

It mostly looked like a female but due to the lack of breast on its Doll like appearance, he thought that it was male but then he saw no member between its thighs so he couldn't be sure of its gender. There was a possibility that it was genderless but it went against human understanding at this point, and he didn't dare ask to confirm less the being infront of him decides that he was a pervert and kills him before sending another person to replace him.

The doll looked at him and opened its mouth to speak, but just hearing its voice almost made the man go insane.

He was barely even conscious at this point. Hell, he doesn't even know why he didn't go mad already and turned into a beast.

[Human Representative. Have you come with what I asked or have you come to report something which my eyes cannot see?]

The man immediately shivered when he heard her voice, his ears started bleeding, he fell down on the boat and kneeled, he then took out a white finger bone of someone and presented it towards the doll. The doll looked at it before one of the palms softly pushed it towards the center of the other palm and gently raised the doll in the air and infront of the finger bone that the man presented it. All the while the huge hand was using its long hair to grab it.

It used its pale white hand and grabbed the finger bone with just the fore finger and the thumb and raised it to its eye level before nodding her head.

"A-Are you satisfied with out findings, oh Doll of the Sea?"

The doll looked at the finger bone with affection and nodded its head, then it turned its head towards the man and softly placed its palm on top of his head.

[I am satisfied.]

Then the palm suddenly tossed the doll into the air and clapped it between its two hands before sinking back into the deep. Water flew everywhere as the whales also dived down and started patrolling around like usual.

Only the man was left on the boat, dead still.

Then, slowly, a smile formed on his face.

Tears of blood started flowing from his eyes, his ears started vomiting out worms, his mouth started growing arms, his nose started growing flowers and soon, his body fell into the deep darkness of the ocean, forever remaining there until the ends of time.

Along with his many comrades who went to this place. Along with the many cultists that worshipped the Doll of the Sea.

Those who sunk here, never to return either dead or alive and forever drowning into the depths of unending dreams, never hoping to wake up to reality. They were beings trapped and drowned until water(Dreams) filled their lungs to the brim.

An escapable fate to those who worship a "GOD"
