Five cups of drinks were placed before the Five Emperor Dragon.
From left to right, they were: Pisco Punch, Estate Punch, Van Punch, California Punch, and Rum Punch.
"Punch," also translated as "panchu," is a unique style of cocktail that originated in India in the 17th century.
The word "punch," in the sanskrit of the fire ritual in India, represents the number five, symbolizing the five different elements that make up this type of drink:
Spirit, water, citrus, sugar, and tea or spices.
A crude mixture born atop the high seas aboard 17th-century long voyages.
Later, sailors of the East India Company brought it back to Britain, from where it spread across Europe, evolving along the way and becoming very different from its original form, but the name was preserved, becoming a popular series of cocktails.
The Five Emperor Dragon first picked up the drink in the middle, the Van Punch, and brought it before the central head—the Chief of Darkness, and took a sip.
