The day passed steadily, the pair running fast in the forest drew closer to the Athena kingdom.
Her wolf enjoyed this view over isla's kingdom; it was the first time she was seeing it through her own eyes.
Isla, on the other hand, was growing more and more stressed with each passing mile. The closer they got to the castle, the knowledge that she was returning home became more real.
It was unsettling, mostly because she realized how much it no longer felt like home.
She didn't belong there, she never had, no matter how much she wanted to. And to face her parents and beg them to help her new family... that felt like it would be a slap in the face.
They were getting close enough to the castle that if they decided to turn to their human form any later there would be no hiding from prying eyes.
The last thing they needed was people getting worked up because there was a sighting of not one but two wolves approaching the castle.
