Chapter 85

"You said his death would mean nothing," she argued.

"But you are wrong. I don't love him, I don't have feelings for him anymore, but that doesn't mean I don't care about him. He has been my friend since we were children, Kelly. My best friend, who has always been there for me. I'm not going to lie and say that there wasn't a time when I thought he would make a good husband, but that was only because that was as good as I thought it could get. That was before I met you."

"His death would mean nothing to me," Kelly snarled.

"I would kill him myself if I knew it wouldn't hurt you. I have never felt like this before, but the thought of another male holding any place in your heart makes me want to hunt him down and kill him slowly, all while he knew that you were mine, and no one else's."

Isla glared up at him.

"I'm not a piece of property for you to stake claim to."

"Try telling that to my wolf," he countered.
