Chapter 770 "Young Professor X"

A younger version of Professor X stood at the table, looking about thirty years old, impeccably dressed in extraordinary attire. He gracefully held a long wine glass, tipping it back with the intent to drain its contents in one swift motion—a feat far beyond the reach of ordinary individuals.

"So, a youthful Professor X," Jerry mused, quickly deducing the universe he had stumbled into based on contextual clues from his memory. It seemed to be 1962, a time when mutants had yet to emerge into the public consciousness, and the X-Men were still unknown to Charles Xavier.

"It appears we'll need to bide our time in this universe," Jerry remarked, his fingers grazing his chin as he contemplated the situation. According to his recollection, Jean Grey wouldn't be born until 1963, making it necessary to await her arrival before enacting their plan to harness the Phoenix Force and fortify the ring universe.

With his decision made, Jerry approached Professor X.

Even with Jean Grey's birth looming in the next year, Jerry knew he wouldn't be able to employ the owl's name locating method to track her due to the potent influence of the Phoenix Force within her.

However, Professor X possessed the means to do so. Jean Grey, besides harboring the Phoenix Force, was also a mutant with abilities akin to Professor X's own.

If Jean Grey were a mutant, Professor X could utilize a device to amplify his brain waves, enabling him to locate her.

Hence, for Jerry to swiftly locate Jean Grey upon her birth next year, he'd require Professor X's assistance, necessitating the cultivation of a favorable relationship with him. Fortunately, this presented no significant challenge.

As Jerry mulled over his strategy, Professor Moira made her way to see Professor Charles Xavier. She had been unable to reach her superior, Colonel Henry, as he was engaged in a meeting.

Seeking validation for her findings from Charles, a renowned expert in mutated genes at Oxford University in England, she began to explain her purpose.

However, before she could utter a word, Charles employed his telepathic abilities to glean all of Agent Moira's memories in an instant.

Charles Xavier had dedicated himself to fostering peaceful coexistence between mutants and humans, actively seeking out mutants like himself and the Transformers.

Thus, he readily agreed to Moira's request without hesitation. However, as they prepared to depart the bar to discuss matters further, a figure suddenly blocked their path.

"Good evening, you two!" It was Jerry, emerging from the bar's entrance.

"Hello, classmate. We're in the midst of something important now. If you have any inquiries, we can address them tomorrow," Charles responded politely, assuming Jerry to be a student at Oxford University. With that, he motioned for Mystique and Moira to continue on their way.

Situated adjacent to Oxford University, the bar primarily attracted professors and students from the institution.

"The leading mutant goes by the name Black King. His ability lies in energy absorption and release, which also sustains his youth. The individual capable of transforming into diamonds is known as the White Queen, while the teleporter is dubbed the Red Devil. Lastly, there's Riptide, who commands the power of whirlwinds," Jerry didn't delve into further details; he simply outlined the monikers and abilities of the mutants Moira had observed abducting Colonel Henry.

Upon hearing Jerry's response, Charles and the others halted in their tracks, swiveling back to regard Jerry with astonishment.

"Professor Charles, your mind-reading ability doesn't seem to faze me," Jerry remarked, observing Charles gently place his hand upon his temple, attempting to engage his telepathic abilities with a faint smile on his lips.

Upon realizing that his telepathy had no sway over Jerry, Charles's initial shock transformed into a subtle intrigue. His telepathic skills had never faltered before, and encountering another mutant who could withstand his mind probes was a rare occurrence indeed.

Discovering a new mutant with telepathic capabilities akin to his own was a source of delight for Charles, particularly when the individual exhibited no malicious intent.

"Well, your observation isn't entirely off the mark," Jerry admitted after a brief pause, neither confirming nor denying Charles's assumption.

While Jerry did possess the ability to manipulate minds, it wasn't due to mutant genes but rather rooted in the realm of magic.

He could utilize magic for mind-reading and memory probing, akin to Legilimency.

However, explaining the intricacies of magic to the trio would likely prove futile, so Jerry chose to remain silent, deeming it inconsequential.

"You seem well-acquainted with these mutants. Could you provide us with more details?" inquired the competent CIA agent, Ms. Moira.

"It's a shame I came here for another purpose," Jerry replied with a smug look on his face.

Ms. Moira looked at Jerry with a perturbed expression for a while, "If you came in here after telling that much, then I believe you indeed have another purpose for meeting us."

Jerry's visit to Professor Charles had been a mere experiment, yet it unexpectedly bore fruit beyond his expectations.

"This isn't the ideal place for a thorough discussion. Let's relocate," proposed Charles, eyeing the bustling bar before leading the group outside to Moira's private car.

With transparency, Jerry divulged the insights he had gathered about the Black King.

"Coincidentally, I stumbled upon this intel through my own psychic abilities. When I overheard your conversation, I realized it might be of use to you," he explained candidly.

Amidst the conversation, Jerry unveiled further details about the enigmatic figure known as the Black Emperor.

Originally a Nazi scientist named Klaus Schmidt during World War II, his true identity was Sebastian Shaw.

Leveraging the Nazi regime's power, he orchestrated the recruitment and training of mutant allies to bolster his cause.

His ambition was nothing short of audacious: to incite a nuclear conflict among global superpowers, exploiting the ensuing radiation to expedite the emergence of mutants.

Through this chaos, he aimed to unite all mutants under his banner and establish a dominion solely for their kind.
