Being one of the few hunters at the top, the S-ranked Marksman Hunter "Ace" had it all. A strong sense of combat, wealth, fame, and a bright future ahead of him. Yet, despite it all, he felt nothing at all to his feats. He was just content with his life, not wanting anything else.

Having risen to unimaginable heights through battling many gates over the years, his glory was renowned throughout the world and was said to be one of the few hunters that would pave the path to a brighter future for their generation.

Yet, that was all thrown out of the window.

Almost a decade after The Great Awakening which shook the entirety of Terra, the Hunter "Ace" stood before many people as he announced something that no one could've ever imagined.

"Today, I will be announcing my retirement."

Yes. That day marked the end of one Hunter's journey.

Though, it was not out of his own free will.

Levelling by the Sidelines

"Hahh!" Rushing through the grassy fields of a plains-type dungeon, a brown-haired man could be seen with a spear in his hand, charging straight towards a sheep-like monster in the distance. "Take this...!"

Right as the man reached his target, he immediately pierced the body of the monster.

"Bahhh!" At that second, the sheep-like beast screamed, attempting to shake off his attack.

"U-Ugh..." Following its attempt to break free from Derek's weapon, the man in turn gritted his teeth, soon tightening his grip around his spear. In the next moment, he pushed it deep into the sheep's flesh. "Heyy! Penelope, Landon! A little help over here?!"

"I'm on it!" From behind the brown-haired man, Landon cried out, pointing his dual pistols at the monster before him.

"Hey, Derek, move out of the way!" Shortly after the blonde-haired man's arrival, Penelope followed up by pointing her staff at the beast. "I'm casting Fireball!"
