Having risen to unimaginable heights through battling many gates over the years, his glory was renowned throughout the world and was said to be one of the few hunters that would pave the path to a brighter future for their generation.

Yet, that was all thrown out of the window.

Almost a decade after The Great Awakening which shook the entirety of Terra, the Hunter "Ace" stood before many people as he announced something that no one could've ever imagined.

"Today, I will be announcing my retirement."

Yes. That day marked the end of one Hunter's journey.

Though, it was not out of his own free will.

Levelling by the Sidelines

Passing through the blue portal, the scene around Jace gradually changed into that of a dark underground cavern. At the sight before him, his eyes twitched, letting out a long sigh in the next second.

"...seriously? A dark cavern?" Scanning around the cave in disbelief, his expression slowly turned sour. "God... Of all gates... It just had to be an insect cave..." Pinching the bridge of his nose, he took another look around his environment, making sure of his assessment. "Sigh. Just my luck."

With just one quick glance around the cavern, Jace could already gauge the dungeon's rank, which was around E-Rank. But, although its rating paled in comparison to that of an S-Ranked Gate, he wasn't happy with the circumstance.
