Blood Swing

Dr. José finally calmed down. "Alright, cheater, I'm listening. What exactly is your bright idea to save my career?"

Alexandre said, "Open my door and call your superiors. I'll take responsibility for all this and say it was me who killed the three infected."

Dr. José raised a skeptical eyebrow. "I suppose that might possibly lead to the conclusion that I couldn't be held responsible for anything that happened here. Hmm. But tell me, why would you be taking responsibility for this?"

Alexandre replied, "Well, you'll obviously owe me a favor."

José thought for a long second, then said, "I suppose I don't have much of a choice. Okay, if you can make this work, then we have a deal!"

Edward, the security guard said, "Sounds brilliant to me, if you can save my job too. Except you forgot about the cameras." He pointed up at one of the lenses on the ceiling pointing directly at them.

Dr. José coughed awkwardly. "Well… Actually, the cameras are fake in sensitive areas like the hospital. Too much risk of outside hackers, you see."

Alexandre rolled his eyes. "It certainly would be terrible if everyone learned you've been lying to them about allergic reactions causing deaths."

José shrugged. "Think whatever you wish. We have to work this way. We've already received enough criticism because of the brutality of the Hunter Exam. Enough talk about that! Come on, we need to put your idea into action before anyone else happens to walk by!" The professor raised his walkie-talkie to his mouth and said, "Control room, Dr. José speaking! Send a supervisor to level -1 Row 32 immediately! There's been a horrible incident!"

Then José took his card and opened Alexandre's cell. He said, "Well, if you want it to look realistic, get some of this blood on you!"

Alexandre did as he was told, entering the cell opposite his own. The floor was literally flooded with the blood of three corpses, so there was plenty to use. He cupped his hands and scooped up some of the red liquid, then poured it over his head.

Both José and Edward stared on in fascinated disgust, transfixed with how easy it was for Alexandre to drench himself in the blood of innocent victims. Most people would be nauseous just by seeing or smelling the scene, but Alexandre was practically rolling around in the blood without a care in the world.

Edward said, "Easy, bud, don't want to summon a demon or something."

The sound of more urgent footsteps came from down the hall, and Alexandre said, "Security's already on the way!"

Dr. José said, "Go on, you still have a few moments!" Then he added with a frown, "Something's not right. They should've had to take much more time to get here."

Alexandre stripped off his clothes and, this time, literally did roll in the blood on the ground.

Meanwhile, Edward got up and stood next to Professor José, just in time for all three of them to see an unexpected woman appear, a woman all three of them recognized: the Co-Director, Professor Hart!
