In 2025, the mysterious “Virus Z” appeared in the Russian city of Sevastopol, transforming citizens into ravenous zombies. What was first thought to be a simple epidemic quickly revealed itself to be the most threatening pandemic in human history.

Confident at first that they could stop this new pandemic, the world's governments failed to grasp the scale of the threat. As a result, China and Korea were among the first to fall. Then India, then Russia, until the whole Asian continent had collapsed. With no army able to stop the zombie tide, all of Afro-Eurasia succumbed and became a massive uninhabitable zone. In the end, only nature's impassable borders—the oceans—halted the spread of Virus Z.

Ten years later, the world is divided into two zones: the forbidden Black Zone, where the infection is still present, and the White Zone, home to the world's survivors and refugees. The White Zone survives only due to Dr. Goldberg's “Genesis Project”—the creation of living biological weapons immune to Virus Z. These people, whose DNA has been modified to make them super-powerful, are known to the world as “Hunters."

Follow the story of Alexandre, a young American of modest origins and appearance, who becomes a novice Hunter and joins the most brutal and mysterious training ground imaginable—Hunter Academy!

William fell into line, but Marlon and Alexandre were genuinely astonished; it's true that he'd breezed through breakfast having mastered this technique, but seeing him practice it with so little difficulty disconcerted the two men, who guessed that mastering hunter's energy to this level in such a short time was a sure sign of incredible talent.

On his side, Alexandre was obviously the target of suspicion from all the students and teachers, but also from his two classmates, chambret. Alexandre interrupted him and said, "Tell me, William, what a nice baguette you've bought! Is it to master your lightning?"

William replies: "Yes, it's a sort of metal convector, as I'm developing my lightning skill at the moment, so a metal object seemed sensible to me, so yesterday, at the end of class, I went to the market to buy it. It's second-hand, of course, and it's a common item with few statistics, but it will enable me to pass this test!

Alexandre himself was very impressed by William's performance, as he was a man with absolutely nothing, no money and a miserable physique, but his superior intellect seemed to make up for it, Alexander had taken several months to completely master his hunter's energy. Of course, he didn't have any time constraints or clear objectives at the time, but that doesn't take away from the feat of those who had managed to partially master their energy in such a short time.

Suddenly Alexandre remembered this woman! She was an exam candidate who had attacked him at night during the second test! He'd succeeded in overpowering her and stolen a photo of her. Alexandre didn't know she'd passed the entrance exam...

When Claire got back into line, she gave Alexandre a hard look, as if she still had a certain resentment for what had happened during the second test...

Professor Jack Blade looks at his tablet and says, "59 students passed? Not bad." then he says loudly "You really are a bunch of incompetents! I'm sick and tired of seeing you always fail! It's time to put an end to this and get rid of the weak and incompetent members of this worthless group. We're going to start a new exercise! Follow me!"
