Chapter 4 - A New Morning

Raymond yawns as he sits up on the bed, stretching. He looks around, noticingit's only been about seven and a half hours making it only 6:23 in the morning.

"Something tells me this is probably how I'm going to keep spending my days since mentally and soul wise, I've slept far longer than I ever had." He remarks as he turns to the side and sits there for about a minute deciding what he should do for his morning routine in this new world. After thinking about several options, he smiles as he comes to a conclusion. Ray gets out of the bed and grabs the clothes that Vivian dirtied yesterday when she shoved him into the ground. He cleans the Floral Sweats in about three minutes using magic. He lays them out on his bed and looks at them. "Seems like I still have some work to do on being able to use magic quickly, especially on some of the more complicated spells like the cleaning spell I just used." He says as he takes off the clothes he's wearing and puts them to the side for now. "But at least I now know that means I can still use very complex spells even if it just takes me longer to do it." Raymond says with a bright smile on his face as he teleports himself outside and begins looking around. After a little bit, he manages to find a nice spot that looks perfect for some training. He snaps his fingers, causing the top layer of the grass to be cut instantly from a gust of wind, making it short, almost like a baseball field. With that done Ray begins doing his routine morning training that he would do in his old world. He trains contently for the next hour, until Vivian exits the house. He stops his training as he looks over at her.

"Sorry about that, Did I accidentally disturb your training?" Vivian asks as she walks over to him in her floral sweats as well, matching him.

"Not really, I was just wondering if you needed something since you're up so early since it's only around 7:30?" Raymond asks as he moves closer to her as well.

"Well, I woke up to a strange energy I felt, and I saw you through the window while you were training so I figured it wouldn't hurt to join you for some morning training, how 'bout it?" Vivian says with a sly smile as she begins stretching.

"Well then, let's hope that you can keep up with it then!" Raymond says as he begins showing her how to do the training that he used to every morning and plans to keep doing. The two of them train until about 10:67, with Vivian kneeling on the ground out of breath.

"Damn…" She says with a heavy breath, "I wasn't expecting it to be so tough."

"Well that's part of what makes it so fun, does it not?" Raymond says as he looks over at her while wiping off his sweat.

"You really used to train like this every single morning in your old world?" Vivian questions as she struggles to keep all of her energy standing up.

"Well actually, today was rather longer than usual because the morning's in my old world are much shorter." Raymond says with a soft smile on his face as he snaps his fingers drying himself and Vivian off gently. "Though I did go on the light side today since this body isn't as physically strong as my old one.

"I hear you on that one, while I'm glad I'm still alive, I do miss the experience that my old body had!" Vivian says in agreement as Raymond walks over to her and lends his shoulder.

"Yeah, but we have plenty of time now to do things differently and train our bodies at a younger age now." Raymond says as Vivian puts her arm around him and the two of them head back inside Zuram Toran. "So I remember you mentioning during our chat that you had said something about heading to work today?" Ray asks as the two of them walk over to the living room sofa.

"Yeah, I start today right before the second quarter of the day at 13:15, and I work until halfway through the third quarter at 35:35 and then I have the rest of the day off." Vivian explains as Raymond helps her lay down on the sofa.

"I thought most jobs in this world worked on a rotation system, where one works for like 5-6 hours, takes a break for 1-2 hours then works again, with the cycle repeating a few times a day though?" Raymond questions as he walks over to the refrigerator. He grabs a glass, and begins filling it with ice, then with water

"Normally that's the case for most jobs, but since I work as a maid, that's a little bit different since we're able to negotiate our hours and how we work with the head maid or butler." Vivian says as Raymond hands her the glass of water. "Thanks." She says as she sits up and drinks some of the water.

"So you work as a maid? Is there a specific reason for that, other than just the fact that it probably pays a lot?" Raymond asks as he sits down on the sofa across from her.

"No, you're pretty much on the money as to why I enjoyed it when I first got it, but now I would actually like to work as a maid for them as long as they let me because when I first woke up from my coma, she stood by my side when I recovering, so I feel like if I stay with her now, it'll be a way of repaying her for something she doesn't even know she did." Vivian says with a soft smile on her face as she remembers what happened.

"Well then, how much would you say you roughly earn?" Raymond asks as he looks around, deciding what to do with the future.

"Well, I'd say I probably earn about 375 Zyde per day." Vivian says without hesitation as she takes another sip of her water.

"I'm sorry, you earn that much in just one day? You could buy so much with that!" Raymond remarks out of shock.

"Why do you think I initially worked there, it's how I was able to afford this place." Vivian remarks back with a smirk on her face.

"That's fair… Are they still hiring?" Raymond says in response, then asks with a genuine look on his face.

"I don't think so, but if you'd like, I could bring you with me to work today and you can see if they'll hire you." Vivian says as she takes a few deep breaths to help relax herself a bit more.

"That sounds like a plan, let's do that!" Raymond says as he stands up and stretches a bit. "Well then, what shall I get for dinner?" Raymond says with determination as he gathers magic into his hand, forming it into a ball. Vivian gets up with a smile on her face as she sets down the glass of water.

"I'm thinking we should get us some Fayloma, how about you?" Vivian says instantly getting what Raymond wanted to do. She also starts stretching for good measure.

"That is a creature similar to deer that enhances its body with magic, right?" Raymond asks as he looks over at her while stretching and puts the ball of magic away somewhere.

"Correct, the ones in this area are known for being rather quick as they coat their body in magic." Vivian says confirming his remark as the two of them head back to the entrance. "One should do right?" Vivian asks as she looks at him seriously. Raymond smiles brightly.

"Well, if it's not, then we can always make sure to hunt more the next time!" Raymond says as he looks back at her, still smiling. "Well then, shall we go?" He says as she nods in response and the two of them exit the house and instantly begin running into the forest next to their house. The two of them slow down when they get further into the woods, and suddenly stop moving. They look around, walking slowly for a bit trying to spot a Fayloma, until what looks like a Fayloma suddenly charges past them, catching even them off guard.

"What the fuck was that?" Raymond remarks as the two of them look behind them, to spot what seems to be about the size of a regular deer, but a deep violet color with violet sparks coming from their body.

"Shit, that's a Feylomai, not a Fayloma!" Vivian says as she readies herself by smashing her fist together, causing Red orbs to appear from her body.

"Judging by your reaction, I take it that it's much more dangerous than a Fayloma." Raymond says as he notices the color of the orbs coming from her body.

"Yes, especially the Violet Spark Feylomai, since it charges a high amount of plasma within its body along with being able to enchantment magic on itself instead of just enhancing itself with magic." Vivian explains to the best of her ability as the two of them lose their smiles and become serious.

"I see, in that case, I'll assist you!" Raymond says as he takes out the magic ball he made earlier. He eats the magic ball, causing the magic energy inside of him to begin running wild, turning all the hair on his body from a white to a vibrant silver gradient of blue.

"Okay! Keep up!" Vivian says as she charges the Feylomai without hesitation. Raymond smiles once again as he casts magic all over his body and runs right behind Vivian, then casts a speed buff on her, to increase her speed. The Violet Spark Feylomai looks at the two of them and charges up its energy as charges right back at them. Right as the Feylomai appears right in front of her, she tries to uppercut it, but misses as it jumps back with immense force, cracking the ground below them. The creature charges once again, but gets blocked by Raymond appearing in front of her and redirecting it with his hand, allowing her to move to his left and kick it with full force, sending it into a tree, through two more. The Feylomai gets up and notices that it's missing one of its horns. Vivian smiles unconsciously as she charges it once more as a head on attack. It charges right back at her, and the two of them collide as she puts her arms around its neck, and it pushes against her with its hind legs. Raymond takes the chance to grab the horn that broke off, and then teleport in atop the Feylomai and stab it directly in the neck, causing it to let out a loud cry with magic, sending the two of them flying in opposite directions, both landing against a tree. The two of them quickly get up and ready themselves for some more action, but notice that the Feylomai is fumbling due to the horn in its neck, and it shakes it out with force. They watch it struggle, then collapse on the ground for about three minutes. By then, Raymond's hair returned to its usual white. Vivian stops her technique, causing the orbs to vanish. The two of them walk over to the fallen animal that they just defeated. They pay their respects to the dead animal then take it back to the house. Vivian and Raymond spend the next 15 minutes gutting the animal. Raymond starts preparing the meal while Vivian brings the rest animal that they didn't use to the basement for storing properly. 35 minutes later Raymond finishes making dinner and the two of them sit down.

"Vivian, have you ever had Violet Spark Feylomai?" Raymond asks as he admires what he made despite not having a clue as to what it tastes like.

"No, since it was not available in the stores, and because the ones in the future were much more difficult to kill, so we just left them alone." Vivian remarks as she smiles, then takes a bite of the food without a second thought. Raymond decides to do the same, and the two of them just sit there in silence for ten seconds, then smile as they enjoy the taste, seeing as it tastes like a nice rare cooked sirloin steak. They spend the next twenty minutes enjoying their meal. The two of them clean up the dishes, then head back to their rooms and get dressed for heading to work. Raymond enters the living room and sees Vivian.

"So for the trip there, a regular shirt and pants are a good start?" Raymond questions as he walks over to her and holds out his arms with a little spin. This causes Vivian to stare at his tail.

"Well yeah, they have changing rooms, so it should be fine." Vivian remarks without hesitation as she gathers herself once more. "That's always what I did before the incident that changed my life in the past happened." She says as she picks up her lunchbox that Raymond made for her.

"I see, well in that case, then we should get going." Raymond says as the two of them nod at each other and exit the house and begin making their way to the city.
