After awakening, Lydia saw that Gerald was already awake and sitting with his legs over the edge of the ledge outside of the cave. She shuddered with the morning cold, which surprised her considering the warmth from the night before, and she sat up with a small stretch and groaned.
"Good morning." Gerald called to her with a smile. His voice was very quiet, and when she turned to call back she found that her voice was little more than a whisper when she replied "Good morning" back. The man put a finger to his lips as he turned around, and then just pointed upwards. He then quickly moved away from the ledge, but stayed near the doorway of the cave. She moved over to him, wrapping the blanket around herself for warmth, and the closer she got to the edge of the cave, the more she heard from above her…
"... over the edge?"
