The Prime Minister's Testimony

Gerald turned his attention away from the seething Otho and left him to himself.  For Otho it was a major challenge inside of his heart.  The gods had told him to listen to the Necromancer, but keeping that monster alive for even a second more…  He wanted to send the Circle Wizard to Geez so badly…  It was finally Lydia putting her soft hand on his shoulder that finally drew him back to the moment at hand.  "Trust him.  I don't… I don't like it myself, but I think we're supposed to trust him on this."  Otho felt tears threatening to burst out of his eyes and quickly turned away.

"Alcohol."  He muttered.

"Chicory!"  Lydia called, and the maid appeared at the top of the balcony.  "Would you be kind enough to show Otho to the cellar?  I think he needs something strong today…"

"I heard miss.  I think I'll have one myself, if it's all the same to you."

"And for me?"  Gerald asked, a small smile fluttering on his face.
