The Vampress and the Necromancer stood in the dark, especially as there was no room for the man on the mat without having a rather awkward position. (Even the woman had an awkward time climbing out from between the others.) Hermina was enjoying the time spent with him, but he was strangely quiet. Even in other situations he had at least whispered or was looking around, but the man seemed to be focussing on everything else but her. It puzzled her, but she felt like she shouldn't push the issue.
After the man had sufficiently warmed up, he carried the still warm stew out into the cold for the night, carrying a small length of rope to tie it in a nearby tree. Hermina followed him, helping with the knots and tying the basket so that it wouldn't move much with the wind that pulled her long white hair with it. She pulled it around her ears and eventually tied it back in a long ponytail to attempt to keep it out of her eyes.
