Negotiations Part 3: Amongst the Wizards

Gerald's rest was peaceful enough, despite the many questions that were lingering in his head as he rested. His thoughts turned to Fay, as they often did during times of stress. Her face brought him comfort, even after the long years of absence and only her ghostly form to keep him company. Even so, he knew that her being able to even come back using the Sorcerous arts meant that she was purposefully waiting for him before progressing to the other side and beyond the great veil. 

Some would call this love, but he called it foolishness. After all, she could more easily rest in peace on the far side than in the trials. 

He awoke, again, to no Fay and nothing but problems awaiting him. He had only slept for around three hours, and he regretted waking, despite the necessity. 'Perhaps that's why Dreiss blessed us with the walking sleep.' He mused, but future musing would have to wait. The sounds of skeletons talking in their language was something that he heard.
