Chapter 42: Court Trial

Today was the day for Narumi's court trial; the accusations against her were really heavy, so because of that, people didn't expect she would even have a second trial. In fact, they were all expecting that today would be her last day as a famous businesswoman.

Daiki, do we have enough evidence to prove that my daughter is innocent?" Yuki asked, and she was practically shaking in fear. "Of course, Yuki ma'am. There's enough evidence to get her off on this." Daiki reassured her by squeezing her hands as he gave her a small smile. "I promised you everything would go smoothly, and I won't let you down."

Yes, mom, don't cry." Akiko said. "I believe Daiki's word will be kept."

"Can we trust that man?" Yuki asked, and her gaze landed on Daisuke, who had his hands stuffed in his pocket as he just listened to the discussion with an impassive face. "He doesn't seem like such a reliable man."
