Page narrowed her eyes and thought that she and Robert had been secretly married for years without others knowing. But why did the one-time thing become known?
She sent a message to Corey inquiring about the situation and continued to talk with Paddy.
Boss, Mr. Snow has deleted the surveillance logs. And I've talked to the other people who knew this thing at the bar. Corey's message said.
It makes sense that no one should be aware of this. Page thought as she raised her eyebrows.
It was interesting. The information that ought to have remained private got out.
"Page, tell me how long you and Robert have been together. I'm your best friend. Please don't hide it from me anymore." Paddy said in a petulant voice.
Page coughed and tentatively questioned, "Have you seen the picture? Why are you so sure?"
"Because everyone is talking about it though it doesn't seem to be any evidence."
"It's not true. There's no such thing." Page replied.
She asked Arno to look into it in a message she sent him.
"So it's fake," Paddy did not doubt. And even felt a little regret, "What a pity, your families have such a good relationship. A few years ago, a rumor even said you were Robert's secret wife."
The fact that Robert was spotted at the Civil Affairs Bureau once caused this rumor among the upper class.
The woman who appeared with Robert wore a lot on purpose and not be recognized. So the upper class didn't make a lot of noise about it.
"Not me, probably Robert's first girlfriend." Page answered coolly.
"Yeah, I believe you don't like this kind of man. All my friends said Robert sucked because he had a wife but continued to date his ex-girlfriend.
"I made a fool of myself, believing the rumors." Paddy patted herself on the head. "Why not go shopping with me later? I'll make it up."
Page consented since she wanted to unwind after being busy for a month.
Her marriage to Robert was over, and she didn't want more people to know it.
There wouldn't be one more person who would learn about it.
Page and Paddy met in front of the mall where they often shop, and Paddy saw the hickeys on Page's neck.
"Wow, got a boyfriend?"
"No, that was just a mistake."
Page cursed Robert in her head because the hickeys on her neck couldn't even be covered. That was outrageous to her.
Paddy giggled, "As an adult, I get it."
Paddy's private life was sordid, but she had no intention of hiding it. And she wouldn't commit adultery while dating someone.
Page liked her because they resemble one another in some respects.
Page put Robert out of her mind and bought some drinks with Paddy. Then Page heard a woman's voice when they walked into a store they frequented.
"You are so pretty, Vita. This dress looks great on you."
Page looked over and saw Vita, whose face was pale, dressed in a white sarong.
"Thank you. It does fit." Vita looked at herself in the mirror and replied to the woman with a grin.
Paddy also noticed these two and couldn't help but roll her eyes, "What bad luck, I can't believe I ran into them."
Zara Hosea was Vita's close friend, who didn't get along with Paddy. They had been against each other since they were kids.
Zara always liked the punk style. She wore earrings and had short hair. She also dressed like a boy, wearing ripped jeans and a denim jacket with a strong metal vibe. She was entirely different from Vita.
Paddy no longer had any interest in shopping at this store. At this point, Zara also noticed them.
"Oh my god, it's Paddy and the woman who seduced Robert." Zara laughed mockingly and walked right up to Page.
"Page, right? You're not favored in the Lynd Family. Why not take a look at yourself? How dare you seduce Vita's man?"
With some embarrassment, Vita approached Zara and patted her, "Well, stop talking about it." Then She took a look at Page.
"Why can't we blame her when she dares to do something like that?" Zara said while glaring at her with some anger.
Vita bit her lips, tears in her eyes.
Zara looked distressed. She glared at Page and said, "How dare you, a mistress, be so righteous? I must punish you today."
Then she slapped Page.
It happened suddenly, people next to them all looked confused.
Zara acted recklessly, and Paddy came forward to stop her because Page looked defenseless and it was unfair to her.
However, Page's delicate hands deflected the slap.
"You don't even deserve to punish me."
"Let go of your hand!"
Zara's face went white as she felt a sharp pain in her wrist. A crisp fracture was heard.
"Ow!"
Zara screamed with a shrill cry of agony.
Page shook off her hand, a seemingly unremarkable move that sent Zara tumbling backward. She knocked over several hangers and fell to the ground in a heap.
"Are you crazy?"
Vita was stunned and rushed up to help Zara.
Zara covered her hand and wept from the pain.
Paddy was also shocked, but she sided with Page, "Zara started it. It's her fault."
"She is the one who erred by seducing Robert, and she ought to have learned her lesson!"
"No, she didn't..."
Just then, a footstep sounded, and they heard a man's voice, "What's wrong?"
