CHAPTER 103

CHAPTER 103

— A GLORIOUS MISSION!

Rabbi Ben Yeshua retired to his quarters and after locking the door, he went to a side wall where, after removing a falsely laid brick, he reached out and took some letters. Joy was etched on her face.

He opened them carefully, and as he read, Yeshua found that his tears were flowing. They were the fruit of decades of work, patient work of indoctrination and persuasion. But the Lord had blessed his work and there, where others would see what they would call — high treason.— Yeshua knew well, it was the dawn of Great Israel.

Correspondence kept hidden came from the most diverse sectors of the country. Industry barons, army generals, university professors, politicians and even the current interior minister. All successful and influential in their areas of activity, however, united as a gigantic invisible family in an unbreakable faith and with their firm purpose of creating the conditions for the appearance of the Messiah of Israel.

The Messiah, the rebuilding of the temple, the Greater Israel!

Yousef Ben Yeshua had spent a lifetime waiting for this moment. A compulsive scholar, his eyesight had been weakened by long nights poring over the Torah by candlelight in the Jewish settlements of Samaria. It was at great cost and with the help of influential people that he managed to convince the Israeli authorities to accept the presence of the Jews themselves in that region.

Yeshua still remembered the words of the commander of the police force who, at the beginning of the settlements, had been sent to remove them from the place:

"This territory belongs to the Arabs, we don't want problems with Jews here."

This sentence pierced him like a dagger. An official from Israel behaving like an unbeliever. Didn't he know that all that territory belonged to the Jewish people by divine right?

However, there are evils that come for good, and from that episode Yeshua drew an important lesson. In the future reign of the Messiah these people would have to be removed, there would be no room for unbelievers. And he had taken this important task upon himself, researching, mining men and women who, like diamonds, had enough faith in their hearts to help restore the throne of God over Israel.

Now a great network was created, ready to take over all the key posts in the nation. The Messiah would present himself. Immediately Yeshua would introduce him to all the other rabbis. Soon after, Parliament would be dissolved at the same time that the media would receive the big news: the re-establishment of the monarchy. The return of theocratic rule, the rule of the Messiah, aided by all Jews of good will.

The Messiah!

Yeshua's memory took a trip back into the past, remembering the days following the death of the man who was like his father, Apraham Boyle, the great rabbi of Czechoslovakia. Orphaned, Yeshua was raised as a beloved son by the master of the Prague synagogue. Under the rabbi's guidance, Yousef discovered the beauty of the sacred texts, their mysteries and their promises. It was then that, still embittered by the death of the one who had been his father, Yeshua had the revelation.

He was meditating on the pages of the Torah when a dazzling being enveloped in light appeared to him.

— Yeshua!

Fearful, the young man withdrew hugging the Torah.

— Yeshua! — said the resplendent being again, as if his voice came from all corners, although his mouth remained closed.

— Fear not, you are the chosen one!

— Chosen for what? — Asked the young man still trembling.

— You will go before the Messiah, preparing his way.

— But I? — The young man was astonished. — I still don't know how to manage myself, let alone carry out such a huge task.

— You will be prepared.

— Will I be prepared? When will this happen?

— It doesn't matter to you now, just know that first the fig tree will have to sprout, and the people of promise will return to their land.

— And how will I know, how will I recognize it?

— In the right time he will find you.

TIME PASSED AND YESHUA grew old. Before his eyes, the Second World War took place. And the fig tree had budded, watered with the blood of six million Jews, and Israel was once again a nation in its former place in the Middle East.

That's when the unbelievable happened. Yeshua participated in a meeting of rabbis with the Apostolic Nuncio of the Vatican, in which they discussed the rapprochement between the Vatican and the Jewish religion. The meeting was over and the rabbis were preparing to leave, when the nuncio's private secretary called him aside.

— Follow me, please!

Yeshua did not understand. He tried to argue, when the secretary put his finger over his mouth asking him to be quiet so as not to arouse the attention of the other rabbis. Out of curiosity, Yeshua followed him.

They reached a room where the Nuncio of the Vatican was waiting for him.

— Please sit down! — Said the priest.

Though somewhat reluctant, Yeshua complied.

— You must wonder why you are here, right?

The rabbi was silent.

— I bring a message — continued the Nuncio — A message from someone you've been waiting for a long time.

Yeshua stood as if petrified.

Could that man know anything about his true hope?

— It was in Prague — continued the Nuncio — where you received the messenger of light and learned about his mission.

Yeshua's heart began to race.

This can not be happening. Nobody knows about that episode!

— You had asked: And how will I know, how will I recognize it? And what was the answer? — in the right time he will find you?

Yeshua fell to his knees.

God the Messiah!

— Get up — said the Nuncio, helping him to compose himself — I'm just the messenger. I'm a simple servant like you!

— But how? — Yeshua said, trying to understand — aren't you a Jew?

The Nuncio smiled.

— It's true, I'm not a Jew. But is it not written that the kingdom of the Messiah will be established above all kingdoms and all nations?

— By Abraham! — Exclaimed the rabbi, does that mean...

— Yes — interrupted the Nuncio — a universal king, established on a throne that will encompass the whole Earth.

— But the Messiah of the Scriptures will be of the descendants of David — Yeshua said as if he were talking to himself.

— Yes, he is of the offspring of David. And his reign will be established from Jerusalem where it will encompass all the Earth.

— I need proof — said the rabbi — I need something to prove that your master really is the Messiah I'm waiting for.

— A test? asked the Nuncio with a smile.

— Yes, proof that he is a descendant of King David.
