Chapter 39: End of the Battle

During the confrontation, Lu Yuan had been quite perplexed by Yu Tianheng's behavior, but he quickly stopped thinking about this, since Yu Tianheng wanted to be humiliated so miserably, then he could not be blamed.

So seeing the approaching Yu Tianheng, Lu Yuan used a basic spear technique, and with his left hand, he stabbed towards Yu Tianheng's upper left body.

Yu Tianheng sneered as he saw the spear coming towards him, and he easily blocked the attack with a powerful punch. But to his surprise, Lu Yuan's spear suddenly shifted backwards, throwing off Yu Tianheng's balance. Before he could even react, he felt a fist crashing into his gut with immense force.

With increased strength and speed, Yu Tianheng was unable to react before being hit, the force of this move was so strong that the defense provided by his Martial Soul was immediately broken, causing him to spit out a stream of blood, as he was sent flying into the air.

But Yu Tianheng's nightmare was not over, for when he could barely open his eyes again, he noticed 6 Afterimages chasing him through the sky, until one hit him in the side of the shoulder, changing his flight path and sending him out of the Battle Arena.

Bang!

All this happened in an instant, making the audience unable to react until they heard the loud crash of Yu Tianheng's body hitting the ground.

The referee, stunned by the speed and ferocity of the attack, took a moment to regain their composure before declaring Lu Yuan the winner.

"The winner of this match has been decided," he announced, "Dragon Emperor is the victor!"

!!!!

After skillfully landing on the Spirit Arena, and hearing the cheers from the audience, Lu Yuan's expression remained calm as he turned to look at the downed Yu Tianheng.

Despite using his Spiritual Ability along with his fist technique, Lu Yuan retained a considerable amount of his strength, as the wounds inflicted on Yu Tianheng had only been superficial.

As Lu Yuan was turning to leave the Battle Arena, a rough and extremely angry voice echoed through the arena.

"Noo! I refuse to accept this result!"

Lu Yuan halted his steps and turned to look at Yu Tianheng, who was struggling to stand up.

Noticing Lu Yuan's gaze, Yu Tianheng used all his remaining strength to stand up, the pallor on his face could be noticed, and traces of blood on the edge of his lips.

"Yu Tianheng, the result was fair and clear to everyone. The winner has been decided, so please retire to your break room," the referee said, trying to calm him down.

But Yu Tianheng ignored the referee and locked his gaze on Lu Yuan. "Emperor Dragon, isn't it? How about we have a fair battle solely between our Martial Souls? The one who emerges victorious will be the superior of the two."

"Fair battle, huh?" Lu Yuan shook his head after hearing his words and turned around to leave the arena.

Yu Tianheng's shouts followed him as he walked away. "What are you doing? Wait, don't go! You coward!" But the audience's response was a chorus of boos and jeers, aimed at Yu Tianheng's disgraceful behavior.

Back in the break room, the members of Team Emperor sat in stunned silence, unable to believe their captain's pitiful display in the Great Spirit Arena.

Normally, they would have gone to check on him or even cause trouble for Lu Yuan, but this time, no one wanted to go out and face the ridicule of the audience.

Sitting among them was a striking girl with long purple hair and bright green eyes.

As she watched Yu Tianheng's condition, disappointment etched on her face.

Although she had no romantic feelings for him, she had developed a sense of goodwill towards him due to his persistent pursuit, and if it weren't for her concern for her missing best friend, she might have considered giving him a chance.

Now, all those thoughts that had begun to arise in her mind had completely vanished, and she found herself no longer interested in paying attention to him. Instead, she immersed herself in her thoughts, hoping that her best friend was safe and sound.

...

After leaving the Battle Arena, Lu Yuan began to reflect on the recent events and was shocked to discover several things that he had previously overlooked.

As a Superior Martial Soul possessor, he was learning to control the aura of his Martial Soul to avoid it affecting his emotions. However, he realized that Top-Level Martial Soul possessors like Yu Tianheng also struggled with this issue

Despite Yu Tianheng's calm appearance, it was undeniable that deep down inside he harbored the pride of being the possessor of the beast-type Martial Soul known as the number one on the Continent.

One must remember that Yu Tianheng at the time was not the same as he would be 6 years later. He lacked the experience and fortitude, being still in the process of training.

As such, it is possible that he was unable to control his anger when feeling despised and humiliated.

He remembered how Yu Tianheng had spoken to him sarcastically from the beginning and how he had immediately lashed out in anger when the battle started. Lu Yuan speculated that Yu Tianheng's resentment had already been brewing prior to their battle and that he was just the trigger for him to release his anger.

And if he added to this his Golden Dragon Martial Soul, which would undoubtedly upset the other party's Martial Soul even more, it was no wonder that resulted in this disgraceful outcome.

Lu Yuan was not foolish enough to believe that this was just a coincidence. He was surprised to realize that the mastermind behind all of this was undoubtedly Qian Renxue.

And by doing this, Qian Renxue had multiple objectives in mind. Firstly, to assess Lu Yuan's mastery over his Martial Soul, which was only the surface-level goal. Secondly, to demonstrate to him the danger of losing control over his Martial Soul, using Yu Tianheng as an example. Lastly, to sabotage the promising future of one of the key inheritors of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan!

This plan had likely been in motion ever since Qian Renxue brought Lu Yuan to her mansion.

Lu Yuan was certain that Qian Renxue had even predicted the choice of his codename, Emperor Dragon, which served to add even more fuel to the fire in his confrontation against Yu Tianheng

Even if he had chosen another codename, the outcome would not have been much different, so Qian Renxue probably decided to leave the choice to him.

Thinking about this, a shiver couldn't help but run through Lu Yuan's body.

'Worthy of being Sister Xue'er, her schemes are truly flawless.'

...

Returning to the VIP box, he saw She Long resting in his chair with his eyes closed, seeming not to have bothered to watch his battle.

"Uncle She, it seems that age is catching up with you," Lu Yuan said with a concerned tone.

"Brat..." She Long's face, which seemed to be calm as he rested, was filled with black lines in an instant.

What was wrong with his age, wasn't he only a little over 80 years old? He was clearly still in the prime of his youth!

Opening his eyes, She Long chose to ignore Lu Yuan's comment and instead asked him seriously, "How did you feel facing the heir of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, one of the Upper Three Sects?"

Sensing the change in She Long's demeanor, Lu Yuan replied in kind, "He was actually very strong, I think you must already know the reason, but he underestimated me too much from the beginning, which caused him to consume too much soul power, otherwise, although I would have defeated him as well, at least it would have been a more challenging battle."

She Long replied with a scratch on his head, looking slightly embarrassed. "To be honest, I didn't know much about the details either. It was someone else who took care of everything."

Indeed, before coming to the Great Spirit Arena, She Long also didn't know who Lu Yuan would fight, as he was only told the basics, such as to present the token at the reception at the appointed time, and everything else would already be arranged.

This did not surprise She Long much either, after all, he had served his Young Master for quite a few years, and his Young Master was aware of his poor abilities when performing this kind of task, so she directly let Ci Xue take care of everything.

To prevent Lu Yuan from asking questions and suffering further embarrassment, he changed the subject, "Although your answer lacks humility, it is correct, with your current capabilities, even if Yu Tianheng had been in his right mind, you would still get the victory. Anyway, Yu Tianheng is still one of the greatest talents of the younger generation and a rising star, besides being six years older than you. Regardless, winning is winning, and if Yu Tianheng wants to blame someone, he can only blame his own incompetence and lack of mental fortitude."

Lu Yuan agreed with his words, if the other party couldn't control his emotions, what fault would he have? Besides, his victory was completely fair, without any underhanded tactics, and it was for this very reason that the audience turned against Yu Tianheng's shameless request.

After speaking for a while longer, She Long then looked at Lu Yuan with admiration. He had exceeded Qian Renxue's expectations in every way and was indeed a prodigy worth investing all of the Spirit Hall's resources into. However, that was not a decision for him to take.

"Brat, it's time for us to head back," She Long said after a moment of contemplation. "Starting tomorrow, we will continue to come to the Great Spirit Arena. Although you can only participate once a day, you can still participate in different categories. Just remember that you will have to participate alone, so prepare yourself to be beaten."

She Long didn't forget to joke a little at the end.

Rolling his eyes, Lu Yuan walked together with She Long towards the exit of the Great Spirit Arena, they got into the carriage, and after making sure no one was following them, they headed towards the Mansion on the outskirts of the city.

After traveling for a while, they finally arrived at the Mansion, and seeing the strong sunlight illuminating the sky, Lu Yuan realized that it was already noon.

As Lu Yuan and She Long entered the mansion and made their way to the dining room, they were astonished to find a variety of delicacies on the table, which was usually kept empty.

As they approached, a captivating figure emerged from a nearby room, and upon seeing Lu Yuan, a gentle smile graced her face.

"Xiao Yuan, Did you enjoy your first visit to the Great Spirit Arena?" Qian Renxue inquired curiously as she took her seat at the table and played with her hair.

"You gave me a great surprise, Sister Xue'er, I had a lot of fun." Seeing such an adorable side of Qian Renxue, Lu Yuan also revealed a smile as he replied.

"It's good that you had fun." Qian Renxue replied softly, without asking any further questions. Both being intelligent individuals, they had already said what they needed to say.

"I see your suit got a little dirty, you can go wash up first. I'll wait for you to eat."

Lu Yuan nodded and headed for the bathroom.

She Long, meanwhile, didn't understand what had just happened, but as Qian Renxue turned her gaze towards him, he approached her and started narrating the events that took place at the Great Spirit Arena.
