Good Companion

Melody rose from her seat, gently closing the squeaky door to the room. She then moved closer to Rebecca, pulling the chair alongside her. With a comforting touch, she patted Rebecca's leg through the blanket.

"It isn't right," Melody whispered, her voice filled with empathy. "A new mother needs rest. You shouldn't have to bear all this alone."

Rebecca sniffled, her voice quivering with emotion. "I don't know what's right," she admitted, her vulnerability shining through. "I feel so weak."

Melody squeezed her hand reassuringly, offering a supportive presence. "Rebecca, was your labor very difficult? I worried about you."

Rebecca's eyes filled with tears as she nodded, her voice trembling. "It was... it was hard. I thought I wouldn't make it."

Melody's grip tightened, her concern evident. "You're so strong, Rebecca. You've come through so much. And now you have a lovely baby."
