Doing Things

Naomi closed her eyes in pain, she had been ruthlessly destroyed in this fight, not only did her opponent triumph her in combat abilities, the scale of his skills and techniques were also impossible to copy.

She couldn't even remember the name of the person who was physically destroying her, she looked around at the crowd who was once supporting her, the pained faces each had as they watched her get beaten up was something she did not want to forget.

She smiled, at least she had done her best.

"I give..."

"Don't give up! Fight this maniac till the end even if it means losing your life! We were all beaten the same way by you and we lost our spot at the top, do not think you will get the easy way out by just quitting at the last second!"

"Yeah!"

The crowd shouted as they urged Naomi to keep fighting, Naomi looked at them, can't they see her useless situation, how was anyone supposed to fight an enemy they couldn't see?

"This fight is over!"

The referee intervened saving Naomi from getting anymore punishment, the crowd looked at Shiro and her agitatedly, they would have preferred if any of them had died.

"Nice strategy, it was like you knew I was blind"

Naomi looked at Shiro in surprise, how was anyone supposed to fight an enemy they couldn't see? Pathetic! She felt ashamed of her self just thinking about it, the person who put her in this situation needed an escort just to make it around the academy and here she was complaining about not being able to see.

"W-what is your name?"

"Shiro Kusikage, I am very sure I said that at the beginning"

Naomi just smiled but did not answer, she had a lot to think about now, she then turned around and began leaving the arena, just before exiting the arena, she took a look at the rankings she had once dominated, on the spot where her name had once been was;

No 1: Shiro Kusikage

No of battles won: 1

She was his first opponent, she then walked away not stopping until she was far from sight.

Shiro came down from the arena with relief written on his face, he was sure that if he had not caught her then, he wuld surely have lost.

He went straight to were Lydia was waiting for him, she greeted him with a warm smile before congratulating him, she had seen how difficult the fight was, even once doubting if he could win so the joy she had after the fight ended was something she could not begin to explain.

"Is there anything else you need to do?"

She asked him, if he still had energy to move around then she would follow him without complains, after all he deserved it.

"Nope, I have a lot of things to think about, this fight showed me some areas I need to work on so I will need to go back now"

"Sure. let's go then"

Lydia then led Shiro back to their apartment, she was also tired so she didn't have time to tease the little boy as usual. Shiro went into his room and sat on his bed, the fight was not stressful, if he was to compare, then the fight with the old man was actually more stress full.

Shiro began meditating on the fight, he knew that he still had a lot to work on especially now that his weakness of sight was becoming more apparent for everyone to see.

Keeping distance was a sure way to deal with him and he needed to work on that.

Having meditated on his fight, he got up and began practicing his evasion skill, it had saved him a lot during his fight with Naomi, he practiced the technique for a few hours before cultivating for the rest of the day.

The next day, Shiro went out of his room to see what Lydia was doing, he had been in his room since he came back from the arena a day before and he was now feeling lonely without anyone to talk to.

He came down and saw Lydia preparing their breakfast so he went over to help her, he didn't do much since she was already done with the cooking, he wanted to help her set the table but after making numerous errors Lydia took over.

"You are very strong"

Lydia said as they ate their breakfast, she was still thinking about his fight the day before and frankly she did not expect Shiro to have that amount of strenght, his defense was too high for someone who used sword cultivation and since she didn't see Shiro use body cultivation techniques she couldn't tell that he was originally a body cultivator.

Shiro smiled;

"I have to be strong, this is the cultivation world after all, strenght means everything"

The two finished their breakfast while chatting happily, when they were done, Lydia asked Shiro if there was anywhere she wanted to visit.

"Nope, I am happy just following you around"

Shiro nodded, he wanted to go back to the arena to see how things were going, he was still under the one week protection from challenges but that didn't mean that he couldn't fight people to accumulate wins.

Shiro and Lydia went around for a few hours before going to the arena, there were fewer people there than the day before, Shiro went around looking for someone to fight, he only had one win record and looking at his name on the board even he would believe that his ranking was based on pure luck.

When people saw Shiro walking around the arena, some of them ran over to him and began asking him to fight them in the arena, they knew that they couldn't challenge Shiro for his position on the ranking board but if they beat the person on the top spot, they could brag about it and use it to boost their image.

Shiro welcomed the challenges with open arms, if they wanted to contribute to his cause then he had no reason to refuse, the people that challenged him this time were very weak, Shiro just assumed that the stronger ones were busy training themselves and didn't always have time to visit this place.

Shiro defeated a total of thirteen people which helped to bolster his records.

No 1: Shiro Kusikage

No of battles won: 14

Shiro smiled at his record, he now had the highest fighting record in the arena.
