"I'm investigating the disappearance of a red wolf from the zoo."
"Do you think I'd keep a red wolf in my house? Huh! Aren't they dangerous?"
"Were you at Papagalli's Dance Club tonight, Miss Wilder?"
Derek rubbed Bella's arm and whispered in her ear, "Breathe, Bella."
"I don't go to dance clubs," Chrissie told Thompson, her voice harsh but still sugary sweet. "What makes you think I was there?" "May I come in?"
Bella withdrew. Derek bent down and kissed her cheek. "It's okay Bella."
Chrissie told Thompson, "You haven't identified yourself as a cop yet. Even though you're a pretty sexy number, I don't let any man into my house."
Silence. Then Thompson said, "The messages were sent from an email address belonging to a Bella Wilder in this residence. If you didn't send these messages, who did?"
"Who exactly are you?"
"Thompson. I have ties to the Oregon Zoo and, like I said, I'm investigating the disappearance of a red wolf."
"Do you have a name?"
