At the last second, the pickup veered off, breaking the Humvee's front fender, causing the pickup to spin out of control and drive into the side of one of the stables. The Humvee also turned and finally encountered Diana's vehicle.
Diana paused and made sure the Humvee driver's vehicle was not stationary.
For a moment, the two vehicles faced each other in a gunfight, and then Diana spun her SUV on the gravel and drove slowly to see if the Humvee was following them. When it did, he nodded and made sure the man's vehicle was fine.
"I wonder who the man is. We can use him for support when things go wrong," she said.
"I would definitely like to know his story." He took a deep sigh. "We haven't found a single piece of evidence yet about Alfred."
"I think he's too cunning to keep around anything that might accuse him. The only other thing would be if we could get into the house of the last girl who was killed. If we could smell him there, it would bother him."
