Tips

Just a list of tips for how to spot plagiarized fanfics

There are no comments or chapter comments

- Thieves love deleting chapter comments to avoid being called out. If a fic has no chapter comments or paragraph comments in multiple chapters, then the author is actively deleting comments which is very sus.

You can recall reading a similar plot before

- If you have a feeling that you've already read a book under a different name, go to google and search for a paragraph or line from the fic in quotation marks ("..."). This will show you if there are any other books with the same exact wording. Do it again in a different chapter to make sure it is plagiarized.

Your comments or reviews asking about whether the story is copied get deleted

- This happens when the thief doesn't want their other readers to find out the story is stolen. You should go on their profile to a fic that they are not the author of (so that they can't delete your comment without deleting theirs) and ask them. If they delete their comments, they are likely plagiarizing.

Funny dots or other characters before the chapter

- I don't know why but I've observed a lot of plagiarized fics doing this.

Lots of support and power stones from accounts that have never commented before or commented on a few fics.

- I guess they're trying to make you think it's good because a lot of people also read it or something.
