Who would be happy with one?
A desire, such a feeling that they had never felt within the duration of their desolate lives. A want, something both had never felt yet sought for, lost to the other? They were really enemies by nature. Though they may be very similar, being birthed from the absolute law, they could be called anything but metaphorically close. It was clear that from the beginning neither was to accept a short end of the outcome, it was to great a loss.
To mortal beings as the human race, wants and desires come and go. With the concept of time, these feelings, that only may have been felt with the impulse of the mind, slowly fade away, becoming nothing but a casted memory of the past
But what of beings that possess no concept of time?
Of beings that had never had any want or desire?
To beings like these, to have a desire, the worth such a feeling possesses is unsurmountable, nor able to be understood, by forms of life that have had frequently felt this desirable emotion. To these lifeforms, this emotion is worthless.
Still, even absolute beings take extreme measures.

Quadel, Empire of Myanis
The village of Quadel was a farming village. Hardly ever did it look as good as it had today.
In the previously rural and minimalistic farming community, rare flowers and white ornaments decorated a silk white carpet that ran on top of a dirt pathway.
It was Jilun's marriage day.
Shortly after his departure to the City of the New Moon, he had met a girl named Xuanyin. He was around her age, and at the time of joining one of the powers of the city, the Aster Grounds, she was the prized disciple. Her position and status was one he could've never imagine he would one day be able to rival.
After a couple years, they had various encounters with each other. As Jilun, with his seemingly low talent, was able to climb the ranks of the Aster Ground. Being geniuses of the same faction, the interaction between them grew over the years as they spent more time with one another, whether if it would be for leisure or training.
It would be a decade before Jilun's return to the village, where he would come back to declare his marriage to Xuanyin. It marked the start of Myriad Variation of Timelines.

Not many people were in attendance for this special event, and it wasn't without reason. Jilun had intended for it to be as such. Jilun wanted to keep the wedding private.
This could be said to be a consequence of the constant prying eyes of all that had laid upon their relationship.
Xuanyin's beauty wasn't to be taken lightly, as she had only matured even further after their first meeting at 16 years of age. The disciples of the grounds simply couldn't get enough her, and even with the punishment of staring brought at the request of Fengge, it did not lessen her 'suiters' who still thought they had a chance.
But however small the wedding may be, it did nothing to reduce its significance.

It was a small ceremony, only three people stood in attendance.
While Jilun stood facing the parents of the both of them, he couldn't help but sigh.
Although today was a day he had waited for for many years, the missing attendance of Xuanyin's parents really made him feel bad for her. Usually, the man would ask the parents of the bride for her hand in marriage, but it seemed that Xuanyin had no parents, as she was an orphan.
This was a great surprise to Jilun, as he couldn't have imagined the things she had to have gone through, but was also amazed with the achievements of her situation. She had grown up alone, but disregarding the absence of loving parents and a stable shelter, she was able to become the Aster Grounds top disciple.
She never talked about this topic after she had informed him of it, hence, on a day not long after, Jilun had attempted to use the Aster Grounds resources to search for her parents, as he was sure she hadn't done so.
In fact, it seemed she didn't care for them at all. Though, Jilun didn't feel too sure of the situation. Even though she feigned perfect indifference, her avoidance of the topic only served to grant him unease on the truth of events.
But as much as he wanted to pin the nail on the coffin, it seemed that even the powerhouse of the City of the New Moon couldn't find out a thing about her background. Hearing this news, it didn't all surprise him. As Xuanyin grew up without parents at a early age, whether it be from lack of support or the poverty situation of the family, records on such 'worthless' and 'poor' people would only waste manpower of the Empire, so they would be disregarded within the Empires record.
Though, this didn't help rest his worry. Something she wasn't willing to tell him, with the relationship that they had developed over the years, meant it was anything but small.
But for the time being, he would let it go. He wouldn't let it ruin the day which was said to be one of the happiest days of his life.

Xuanyin and Jilun walked hand in hand as they travelled the length of the silk rug. Reaching the end as a pair, they knelt down in front of Jilun's parents.
Mei couldn't help but allow tears to gather at the edge of their eyes, like an overflowing river ready to take the earth with it.
Feng, the father of Jilun, however, smiled proudly as they began to pronounce their part of the oath.
While the pair of parents stood in front of Xuanyin and Jilun, Old Gi, who now had lost the ability to stand on his own, sat in a chair not far away from them, his smile a tale of the years he had lived.
Even Xuanyin, who had rarely showed any emotions, smiled.
Until time stopped.
