Refusal

"Me and Aiko senpai know each other from the Same elementary." Sora explained briefly.

"Isn't the student council president one year older than Sora? Shouldn't you and the student council president be in different years and classes right?"

Nakeno didn't give up, he wanted to know all the information and find out if there was something his friend did, he was too curious.

"Your asking for too much, Nakeno, your so nosy…"

Sora was speechless by his new friend's curiosity, Which was a bit overwhelming. It was like he was trying to find out all of his information.

"Ehhhh… Don't be so stingy, we're friends, right?"

Nakeno was acting like a lost animal, acting pitiful as he turned his head to Ayane, and asked:

"Ayane-san do you know something?"

"Hmph, even if I did know, I definitely wouldn't tell you, you creep."

Ayane definitely didn't want to be involved with Nakeno, so she ignored him.

Nakeno was sulking as he had a sad face on, but no one came to comfort him.

"Don't be so negative, Suri-chan. Try to be nice to him okay, even though he's a bit stupid and weird.""

Nakeno was happy that his new friend was sticking up for him, but when he heard the last sentence he returned to his silent crying.

"I'll just ask Aiko senpai." Said Nakeno as he hastily asked the students council president.

But when he turned to to look at Aiko, who had been eating, without intending to join the conversation, and outright ignoring him, still he had to ask.

Rubbing his hands together like a crafty merchant, Nakeno asked with a smile:

"Aiko senpai, may I know how you came to know Sora."

Aiko put down the cutlery on the table, and turned to look at Sora, as she asked:

"Is that okay, Sora-Kun?"

"Sigh~ do as you please."

Sora took a deep breath, and no longer resisted.

Aiko looked at Nakeno, as she warned:

"Let me remind you, our meeting was nothing special. It's not as Dramatic and exciting as you think, Nakeno-san."

Nakeno waved his hand, and didn't care at all.

"It doesn't matter, I just want to know Sora's meeting with the girls, and If he did anything embarrassing.

Aiko's cheeks turned red, because of embarrassment. The way he said it meant that she was one of Sora's women, though she didn't speak up because in her heart what he said was correct.

"Your tongue is too eloquent, Nakeno-san."

With both hands, Aiko hid her blushing face.

(Haaa… This reaction is like a girl love, could it be that Aiko senpai also like's Sora, how many girls like him, ugh… how lucky?) Nakeno made a guess in his mind.

He didn't expect his casual joke to get this reaction, he secretly glanced at Ayane to see her face gloomy as she stabbed her fork in a tomato.

(From Ayane-sans reaction, she seems to also like Sora too…. Damn, Sora's luck is so good with girls, maybe too good, right?)

With Nakeno's EQ, he Deduced that both Aiko and Ayane really like Sora. But what annoyed Nakeno the most, was that Sora acted like he didn't know what was going on, and pretended to not to see that.

"Cough Cough… let's get back to the main topic." Aiko pretended to cough, like nothing happened earlier.

Nakeno looked at Aiko with eyes full of Interest, and said:

"Then Hitomi senpai, please begin."

Aiko reminisced about the past, her eyes would occasionally glance at Sora, who was having lunch and was calm.

"Me, and Sora~kuns first meeting, started when I was in my 3rd grade of elementary school. After school, I and my twin sister, Reiko, went home together. It as drizzling that day, but the weather forecast it would be sunny, we didn't take our umbrellas as our mother didn't prepare one.

"Because it was only drizzling, Reiko and I decided to go home by taking a shortcut. But the unexpected happened, we met a stray dog that looked like it had gone crazy. The mad dog chased us both, and because of the slippery wet ground I slipped and fell. Just when the mad dog was about to bite me, Sora-Kun immediately appeared and restrained the dog.

Aiko clasped her hands together, that day was truly a horrible experience, if it weren't for Sora who knows what would've happened to her sister and herself, her eyes were twinkling as she looked at Sora with a ruddy blush and fanaticism.

"I still clearly remember that time, when, with his bare hands, Sora-Kun picked up the mad dog, and threw it away far away. Then Sora-kun also escorted us both home safely. Since that day, me and Reiko would often play in the class Sora-Kuun~ was in."

"Thank you Hitomi senpai, for sharing your experience." Nakeno smiled gratefully.

(What the hell! Isn't that just like a scene from a manga? Where the hero saves the damsel in distress? Even though it's a cliché, it's very effective at luring girls in, just look at Aiko senpai.)

Nakeno now looked at Sora with a different look, he felt like he was looking at the main character of a manga, but that he was living in the real world, and actually managed to befriend the protagonist.

Wiping his mouth with a tissue, Sora, who had just finished eating his curry rice on the plate, turned to face Aiko.

"Aiko senpai, you came to see me, not to only to reminisce about the past, you have another purpose, right?"

"Humph!"

Aiko snorted, as she was easily found out by Sora, she folded her arms below her large chest, as she looked away.

(Sigh… Did I say something wrong? school girls are so hard to understand, I knew it, compared to school girls Mature women are the best.) Sora was suddenly enlightened, but also had a headache on dealing with the current situation.

" Hitomi senpai?" Sora spoke softly, trying to gently coax her.

"Sora~cchi." Nakeno called out to Sora, and pointed his finger at the sulking Ayane.

"This is so troublesome…"

Sora was not an airhead like most male protagonists that were oblivious to the feelings of the girls around him.

"What are you looking for me for, Aiko senpai."

Hearing his soft voice, she turned her head to see Sora with a small smile on his face, she subconsciously forgot all her anger and even smiled a little.

The reason Aiko was pouting before, was because Sora had called her by he family name. In fact when they were in elementary school, they called each other by their first names all the time. But after a year of not seeing each other, Sora Called her by her family name, which made it sound like they were not close.

It was as if she was an outcast. What irritated her even more, is that Sora is still so close to that bubbly girl, Ayane Mitsuri, and that he Ben gave her a nickname to make the two closer to each other.

Aiko suppressed her complex thoughts, and finally revealed her true intentions.

"Yagami Sora-kun, I invite you on behalf of myself and the student council to join the student council."

"I refuse."

Without hesitation, Sora firmly refused.

"Ugh, why?" Aiko was taken aback, she didn't expect to receive such a direct rejection, it stunned her for a couple of seconds.

"Because being a member of the student council is too troublesome, I would be creating problems for myself when I don't need to." Sora said it bluntly.

"But the new student representative will be joining the student council committee. For example, last year I was a new student representative, and I joined the student council. It's not just me, all the new student representatives will be joining the student council. Since Sora-Kun is becoming the new student representative, you should also join us the student council."

Aiko said excitedly, maybe because she was too excited, she subconsciously moved forward, her face and Sora's were only a few centimetres apart.

"Cough Cough… Student council president, aren't you too Close to Sora?" Nakeno coughed as reminder, and as Ayane looked at her with an angry jealous face.

Aiko immediately came to senses, and turned to look at the canteen as she saw all the students staring at the two of them, she hurriedly kept her distance, as her face was blushing red.

Nakeno gave a thumbs up, Sora was truly an expert, he didn't even have to do anything. He smiled, showing his white teeth.

Aiko regained her composure, as would be expected from a student council president and asked for Sora's input.

"So what's your answer, Sora-Kim?" Aiko asked, not daring to show her blushing face in front of Sora.

"Sorry, Aiko senpai, my answer will remain unchanged, I refuse your offer to join the student council." Sora said calmly, obviously this wasn't an impulse decision, but a well thought out one.

"But why?"

Aiko looked up sadly, she knew Sora's academic level, he was well ahead of the curriculum, so much ahead that he could qualify for higher education. she knew because she used to have study sessions with him and seek for advice for any problems that she had.

The reason she attended Seiko Junior High School, was because she wanted to go to the same school as Sora.

In 5th grade, Aiko and Reiko were asked which Junior High school they wanted to continue after graduation. After learning that Sora wants to go Seiko Junior High School, which is known for being an elite High school, Aiko and Reiko studied hard with his help to be accepted at Seiko Junior High School.

Aiko and Reiko wish they could spend their time in Junior High School with Sora, just like back in Elementary school. However, now that Sora refused, and with the student council members being very busy she won't be able to spend much time with Sora and would rarely see him.

"I was planning to join either the literature club or sports club, and as the student council president Aiko senpai has seen how packed the schedule is for them. If I join the student council I won't have any free time."

Sora raised his hand to pat her head, but remembered he was in a cafeteria and didn't want to put her in an embarrassing situation. Many students were watching them, so he pulled his hand back.

"Sora-Kun is right, sorry I tried to force you, forget about what I just said."

Aiko picked up her glass and put in on the tray, took the tray and left her seat and walked away.

"Is it alright to to leave her alone, shouldn't you be chasing after her, the student council president looks like she's about to cry after your refusal?" Nakeno asked.

"Forget it, let's let her calm down and give her some space first, what are you smiling at Suri?"

"Oh… nothing Sora-Kun, I just thought of something funny." Said Mitsuri, she was happy because Aiko left, now it was just her near Sora.

How Could Sora not see that with his experience of women that was clearly not the reason, he just shook his head and chuckled.

Seeing Sora chuckling and Ayane smiling Nakeno was confused.

"Am I missing something here, why does the atmosphere feel so strange." Nakeno was pretty scared seeing them act like that, it was like they were laughing for his execution.
