As I walked through the labyrinth, I could only hear the sound of our steps echoing through the corridor. Suddenly, we heard a crash behind us, it seemed like something was breaking. When we turned to see what had happened, we heard the sound of glass breaking and the agonizing sound of something that didn't seem human approaching quickly.
When Jack was hit by the monster, he started screaming, his screams of pain and fear echoed through the labyrinth. Sarah also started screaming when the Dead-Mirror reached her, her desperate screams of fear were terrifying. William and Mary also began to scream when they were hit by the monster, their screams of terror echoed through the labyrinth.
I could hear the sound of my companions being consumed by the fears reflected by the Dead-Mirror, they screamed and struggled on the ground. I could hear the sound of my own heart beating wildly in my chest, and the sound of glass breaking when I picked up the broken piece of glass and tried to attack the monster.
However, it was in vain, and the only thing left was my body lying on the ground losing strength but somehow I hear a giant explosion near me.
[----------]
I think I'm close to the place, according to my memories there is a hidden chest near a rock and a tree. I know this place because in my past life one of my lords was a knight who found this place and managed to get his hands on a magic sword.
Suddenly!
"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
I hear screams of agony and as a reflex, I quickly lean against the wall of the labyrinth and start walking slowly. I lift my head forward and see countless bodies lying on the ground, and along with them is also a large monster in the center of the place.
I know this monster, and if I'm not mistaken, the name of this creature is Dead-Mirror!
The Dead-Mirror has a humanoid appearance, but its entire body is made of dark, fragile glass. It has bright eyes that seem to reflect the soul of the people it faces. It has long, dark hair that falls freely over its shoulders. It is tall and thin, with a cold and impassive expression.
The Dead-Mirror's main ability is the ability to reflect the soul of the people it faces, showing them their greatest fears and regrets, and using those fears against them. He can use these visions to manipulate people and lead them to do terrible things, like kill their loved ones or commit suicide. He is also able to heal reasonably quickly from any physical damage, since he is made of glass. But! To perform this task he can't be exposed to light.
The Dead-Mirror has a weakness for bright light, he can't stand the light and it makes him temporarily blind and vulnerable. In addition, he is fragile and can be easily broken. Once broken, he can't heal and is destroyed.
The Dead-Mirror is cold and calculating, he has no emotions and only acts to achieve his goals. He prefers to work in the shadows, manipulating people and leading them to do what he wants. He rarely exposes himself directly and prefers to use his abilities to achieve his goals indirectly.
For a monster like this to appear here, there is only one answer, he is sure that no one here really poses a threat.
I see shiny items near the lifeless bodies, in other words, the people who died didn't open their initial presents and didn't discover their classes. A smile appears on my face, it's time to show off my skills.
I was hiding behind a wall, watching the Mirror-Dead approaching. I knew I only had one chance to defeat this monster, so I had to be strategic. I raised my right hand, holding the magic bomb, and with all my strength, I threw it towards the Mirror-Dead. I shouted a verbal command to activate it, causing a huge explosion of yellow flames.
BOOM!
The ground shook because of the impact.
The explosion hit the Mirror-Dead head-on, causing enormous damage and cracks in the dark glass. The monster trembled and its bright eyes went out. For the firelight was penetrating deeply into the dark body of the monster.
I knew I couldn't miss this opportunity, so I ran out of my hiding place with all my strength. I held on tight to the bronze pickaxe and ran with speed, without wasting time. For I knew the monster could still be dangerous, but I was determined to finish it. When I got close to the Mirror-Dead, I started hitting its glass structure with my pickaxe. I heard the sound of glass breaking and the monster disintegrated with each blow.
I continued striking until the monster was no longer a threat. I took a deep breath and looked at the final result of my fight. I had won, but I knew I couldn't relax, as the labyrinth still held many other dangers.
I see a notification appear in my vision, with the words "Congratulations! You were one of the first to defeat a Mirror-Dead in this Season!" I smile, feeling a mix of relief and accomplishment. Another notification appears, saying "[You have received 1 bronze level gift!]."
After reading the notifications, I ignore the bronze level gift and move towards the loot that the mirror monster dropped. I crouch down and with my hand, I pick up a small black crystal.
[Heart of a Mirror-Dead]
[Description] = A black glass heart that contains magical energy that can be used for various recipes.
This item is crucial for creating a nightmare bomb. In my past life, I saw the terror that a bomb with the capacity of mirror-dead hearts can cause. This item will be useful in the future.
I start walking towards the bodies lying on the ground. Some are dead, others breathing with difficulty. I crouch down and start collecting all the items that are on the ground: 5 initial gifts, 5 bottles of water and 5 breads.
As I collect the items, I think of plans to use these people to my advantage. I remember my past life as a slave, but now it will be different. I open my mouth and emit a verbal command to the system: "Create a master and slave contract!"
Immediately, a white sheet with red letters appears in front of me. The contract's description states that the signer of this contract will be completely submissive to the master of the contract, and if the slave does not obey the master's orders, the master can kill him with just a thought. The system can also inflict pain on anyone who breaks the contract's rules. At the bottom of the contract, there is a line to be signed with the slave's blood. I smile, knowing that now I have a new power at my disposal.
I look around and see that there are four people still alive. The closest to me is a tall and muscular man, with dark brown hair and deep brown eyes. He has a defined jaw and a short and well-groomed beard. Compared to my body, this guy is a real war tank and I feel a bit envious. He is probably a knight, but I don't think much of it and I approach him with my pickaxe pressing it against his neck.
I hold a water bottle and let some drop on the man's face, making him open his eyes. I don't give him time to think and I press a little harder on his neck, causing a small wound. In a cold tone, I say: "Sign this contract or die!"
Without hesitation, I show him the contract and press him to sign it with his own blood. He hesitates for a moment, but eventually gives in to my threat and signs the contract. I smile, knowing that I now have a new powerful slave at my disposal.
After reading the man's name, I keep the signed contract and look at Jack with a smile on my face. He is sitting on the ground, with a lost and panting look. I approach him and say: "Welcome aboard, Jack. You've just become my slave."
He looks at me with anger and despair in his eyes. He tries to stand up, but I push him back to the ground using the invisible power of the contract.
"What have you done to me?" - Jack screams with anger. - "I will never be your slave, you can't control me!"
I laugh and say: "Ah, but I can. You signed this slavery contract with your own blood. Now you're mine to do whatever I want."
Jack tries to stand up again, but I push him back to the ground and this time a horrible pain arises making him writhe.
"Don't you dare challenge me again" - I say with a cold voice. - "Or you'll regret it."
Jack curls up on the ground, with tears in his eyes. He knows that he is now my slave and that he has no choice but to obey my orders. He bows down before me, knowing that his life as a slave has just begun.
Without showing remorse, I turn my back and walk towards another body, but this time it is a woman's. She is a young woman with red hair and green eyes. She has a round and soft face, with rosy cheeks. She is tall and skinny, with long arms and legs. She wears light fabric clothes, with a white dress and a blue shawl.
I approach her and kneel by her side. I grab the slavery contract and put it in front of her. I press my pickaxe against her neck and say in a cold tone: "Sign this contract or die!"
I turn to Mary and say: "Welcome, Mary. You've just become my slave."
She looks at me with tears in her eyes and a tone of despair in her voice.
Please, don't do this to me. I don't want to be your slave. I have a family, children and friends, a life out there.
I laugh and say: "Your life out there no longer exists. Now you're mine. And if you disobey my orders, I will kill you."
Mary curls up on the ground, with tears streaming down her face. She also bows down before me.
I repeat the same process for the other two people who are nearby. After Mary it's William's turn. He is a mature man, with gray hair and light blue eyes. He has a short and well-groomed beard. He is skinny and of medium height, with a proud and upright stance. He wears fine fabric clothes, with a long green velvet coat.
And lastly, Sarah is a mature woman, with black hair and brown eyes. She has a serious expression and an oval face. She is tall and has a strong and athletic body. She wears black leather clothes.
I move three steps back and look forward, move my two hands to my back and puff my chest like a commander. In a cold tone, I issue an order:
Stand up! Stand in order, men to the right and women to the left, come closer to me.
For the first time, I realize that these people are a greater arm than my body, I feel like a dwarf next to these giants.
The slaves stand up, with fear and uncertainty in their eyes. They line up, with the men on the right and the women on the left, as I ordered. I stare at them with my expressionless face and say: "You must be wondering where you are and why this is happening to all of you. The answer to that is simple. You were chosen to enter the infinite labyrinth, there is no entrance or exit. The only hope is to reach the end alive because only the strongest will have their doubts answered."
In this place there is magic. Powers among other things that should only exist in the world of fiction.
"Do you have any other questions?"
"They don't react, they just stay silent, digesting my words. I don't think much and raise my voice again. 'Jack, come closer!' As soon as the words come out of my mouth, he approaches and says in a respectful tone, 'Do you need something, master?' I ignore him and respond, 'Jack, speak the word. Configuration.'
He obeys my command and says 'Configuration.' Suddenly, the space around us twists and letters start to float in the air. Everyone is impressed by this scene, but they don't dare say anything.
