CHAPTER 21

BRENT's POV

He is handsome. I admit it. He carries more of a charismatic personality, chaste, clever, and everyone's favorite. Well, I don't have any problem with that. He's never become a competition to me, because as an older brother, Nathan has been good to me even though, I am just his step-brother.

My biological mom and I are just his father's second family. Dad said my mother died after she gave birth to me. But even if that is the case, Nathan's mother treats me like I'm her real son. But it cannot deny the fact that they were paying more attention to Nathan, since they knew that, I did not continue my medical study. It is not my passion. I think, I really inherited being artistic from my biological mother.

I didn't hesitate to enter the world of being a designer. There, I met the girl who inspired me in everything I do. My lonely heart before became colorful when I met Elisha. She didn't notice me at all times, but it was inevitable that my heart wouldn't jump every time she was with me. I never felt the real essence of love before until I met her and every time I am with her.

And it hurts... It was like a thousand knives were stabbed into my heart when I found out she was my brother's girlfriend. I know, I don't have any right to get angry and jealous at the same time because I knew from the start that Elisha can't love me back, I'm aware of that.

But... She can't love my brother.

This is crazy. Why Nathan?

When and where did they get to know each other?

Damn. No way?

Is it in Palawan?

Just then, something sank into my mind. It was when I caught Nathan coming out of Elisha's room.

No way. It cannot be that fast.

Most and foremost.

This cannot be.

Just then, another thing sank into my mind.

[FLASHBACK]

"Brent." She gently called Brent.

Brent suddenly felt nervous as Elisha called his name.

He smiled at the young woman, trying to make his face look calm.

"Hmm?" He response.

Elisha crossed her arms while she was still looking at the sunset. She takes a deep breath before speaking.

"With each passing day, I try to smile without getting hurt." She started out and released a noisy breath again. Brent wondered at what Elisha had said but he remained silent.

"And every time I try, I just get hurt more and more." A sad smile came out of Elisha's lips, still looking at the sunset that set little by little. Still, Brent was left confused and didn't have any idea of what she was talking about.

"I don't know where I can see him, where I can find him." She continued. "I don't know if he really likes me or if I was just his toy." Elisha scoffed irritatedly. "I want to punch him for leaving me after what happened between us. But I have no right to do that. Because I'm the one who brings the temptation to him, and we don't have any label." She laughed a little. "Well... It was just a dare after all. I was his..." Elisha paused, realizing that she couldn't say it. She gasped.

Brent started to have questions in his mind.

Who is she referring to?

It's her ex?

He was jealous.

"Yes, I admit it. I'm hurt by my own foolishness and desperately hoping for my own beliefs. Someday, the time will come we will be going to meet each other again. " Elisha bowed her head, and tears fell down from her eyes. She wiped her tears quickly and turned her sight to Brent.

"Are you okay?" Brent was worried about asking her.

"I need to be okay even if I'm not."

"Elisha."

"I'm sorry, Brent, for not loving you in return. I can't love you because I know that I'm not done loving him. And I won't stop loving him."

[END FLASHBACK]

Damn! Could it be... Elisha was talking about Nathan? Was it Nathan?

Really?

I quickly grabbed my phone next to my PC. It's already 7 pm, but I am still at my desk, facing the computer.

We have a company dinner tonight, but I decided not to go. Sir Mat, was looking for Elisha earlier, but I covered her up, I lied as well.

I dialed Elisha's number and tried to call her but I was about to jump when suddenly a phone rang on the other desk next to my table. It's her cellphone. Did she leave it?

I hang up the call. I leaned my back on the back of the swiveling chair and let out a deep breath. I feel so much weight in my heart. I also kept thinking about the guy she love for a long time.

'Was it really my brother?'

[THE NEXT DAY]

NATHAN's POV

Waking up with the person whom you love wholeheartedly in the morning is the best thing in life. I can't take off my eyes and put my smile away while I am staring at her sleeping beside me. She's like an angel that heaven sent to me. Her curly eyelashes make her eyes perfect, and her high-bridge nose and her thin red lips suit her face well.

I gently touch her red cheek into her jawline and down to her chin. I've been thinking for a long time about what she looks like and now, I know. Yet, that wasn't a reason why I love her, because there's no reason why I love this gorgeous girl.

I heard her hums as she moved her body towards me. She buried her face in my chest. I hugged her and kissed her hair. It was so soft and smelled so good, like her body.

"Good morning, love," she whispered. Her warm breath brushes my chest.

I kissed her hair again. "Good morning, love," I whispered back. I could feel her hugging me tightly. Her broad and soft breasts pressed against my stomach.

Were both half-naked, underwear on.

And... I love this feeling.

"Let's eat?" She asked me as she raised her head and looked at me. I kissed the tip of her nose before I could answer her.

"Breakfast in bed?" I winked at her.

She chuckled loudly.

"Please." I pouted, pleasing her. Just. I can't control my hunger with her body.

She pinched my nipple. I grunt when she did that.

"I thought you were going to the hospital? Hmm." Her eyebrows raised.

"Later. I want to be with you for a while, just a little time." I kissed the tip of her nose again.

She smiled. Caressing her soft beautiful thin shoulder. The warmth of her palm makes me crazy.

Seriously. Her hand came down to my hard manhood. She gently massages it, up and down. I groaned as she does it, slowly.

Fuck.

I gently brushed her hair pulled her upper chin, and reached her mouth with my mouth. I kissed her slowly as she massaged my hard manhood.

Dammit. How can she be so good at it?

"Come on, love. I'll cook breakfast for you." My face almost released a fire because she suddenly stopped massaging my manhood and left me hanging.

Damn.

"Put your clothes on, love. I love you." She gave me a quick kiss on the lips before she snatched the oversized t-shirt that was hanging to my swivel chair. She put it on and went out of my room.

I looked at my manhood, hungry for her touch. Damn! My poor dick, Elisha. Really!

I'm watching her right here from my seat while she's putting some Nutella on the bread. She's damn sexy in her oversized t-shirt, with her hair tied up.

She placed the bread on the plate and carried it to me. She presented it to me with some rice in the bowl and other dishes that she cooked.

She sat down in the vacant chair in front of me. "A simple breakfast for you." She said with a smile.

"Are you belong to the breakfast that you prepared for me?" I jokingly asked her that made her laugh.

"Don't be so naughty. Let's eat," she said, giggling, and put some food on my plate.

I just laughed, took a fork and picked up the sliced apple, and eat it.

In the middle of our meal, I heard the doorbell ring.

"Who's that?" She asked with confusion while eating continuously, chewing some meat.

"I don't know either. Wait here." I stood up and went straight to the main door. As I opened the door, Brent showed up to me, carrying a bothered expression on his face.

"Sanderson. What brings you here?" I asked him questioningly.

Before he could answer me, he turned his gaze inside my condo, that seems like he was looking for someone. When he couldn't find anything, he returned his gaze to me.

"Can we talk?" He seriously asked me, which remains an undefined expression.

"About what?"

"Privately." He said instead of answering my question. After he said that, he immediately turned his back to me and left my sight. I tried to call him but he ignored me until he finally got into the elevator.

He's creepy. What's with him?

I closed the door and went straight back to the dining room.

"Who's that?" Elisha asked me while chewing.

"Just. Uh... Sanderson." I shrugged my shoulder as I sat on the chair and go back to eat.

"Brent? Why don't you just let him in? Where is he?" She stops eating to get some water from the fridge.

"I invited him in, but it seems he's in a hurry." I can't understand Sanderson sometimes but this time, he's acting so weird. I don't know why. It makes me nervous.

"Oh, I see." Elisha places the glass in front of me and pours it water. "But... Can I ask you something? I've been wondering about this thing, uh. Why are you calling him Sanderson, instead of Brent by the way? Is he really your brother? Why his surname is different from yours?" She asked, looking at me with curiosity.

Now, she noticed it.

I cleared my throat before I gave her an answer.

"The truth is, we are only brothers on father's side, so basically he followed his mother's surname. But even though he is my step-brother, I never treat him differently. We wanted to change his surname but he doesn't want to. I don't know why. He doesn't even want me to call him by his name. He actually hates that, but I'm still calling him Sanderson."

"Brent was so lucky to have a brother like you," she said while smiling. "No wonder, many women admire you. You are a caring and loving person."

I smiled. "Do you think so?"

"Yes." She reached out my hand and brushes it gently. "That's why I fell in love with you." She added. A sweet drew on her lips, which makes me smile even more.

I've never felt happy like this before.

She's the only woman, who can make my heart melt with just every single word.

I couldn't imagine myself without her. Damn. I can't bear the pain if I'll lose her.

I cupped her hand. "Thanks love. I love you." Then, I kissed it full of sincerity.
