CHAPTER 02 : Paralleled Twin

On the side of the school building, Ali, Dallas and Zyaire were sitting underneath a big tree. The weather is overcast so they are not afraid of the sun. The breeze is fresh and there are many butterflies flying around because of the wild flowers growing.

Ali is playing with the grass when he suddenly stood up. " Why are we here? I'm bored. Can't we just go to the forest and look for wild animals. I'm thirsty. " He said. Ali is obviously aggravated because they had been sitting and doing nothing.

Dallas woke up from his sleep because Ali was making so much noise right next to him. He put his hand on the grass to support his body as he sit before he took the book that is next to him.

" Just wait. He's coming. " Zyaire answered whilst scratching his head. Ali sat down on the grass again, frowning. He was playing with the grass once more when something suddenly came to his hand. It's a white rabbit that got lost. " Can I? " He asked his friends. Dallas was about to answer when they smelled blood. This is not a rabbit blood but a human blood.

'Someone's coming here.' Ali became alert around. The smell of human blood is not new to them because they study in the same school with humans. But what Ali smelled of blood was that it is so strong that if he came any closer to him he might not be able to stop himself and would absorb this person's blood.

" He's here. " Zyaire hinted. " Why does he have people with him? Who are they? " He asked while looking into the distance. Dallas followed what Zyaire was looking at.

There were four young men wearing the same uniform as them heading in their direction. The two still seem to be teasing each other while the other one has his hand on the shoulder of their other companion who is looking at them while waving in their direction with a smile.

As the four of them came closer and closer, the smell of blood grew stronger and stronger. Dallas noticed that Ali was quiet so he looked at him. Ali simply sat there and did not move. " Ali, are you okay? " Dallas asked worriedly, Zyaire looked at Ali.

Dallas bent down to look at Ali. When he patted his shoulder, he noticed the gradual change in the color of Ali's eyes, it slowly turned from brown to red. Dallas additionally observed the growth of his fangs. His breathing is so fast that he is ready to attack his prey anytime.

Dallas doesn't know what triggers his vampirism. This was not the first time he had seen Ali act like this but this was the first time he had witnessed Ali slowly turning into a vampire because of someone. His vampire nature solely comes out when he is angry.

Ali's hands have formed into fists and his veins are showing. He growled. Dallas held Ali tightly and as he held him he could sense how strong Ali was. " Let them leave. " He stated to Zyaire with a hint of warning in his tone. Zyaire simply nodded and walked towards the direction of the four men.

Ali woke up in a familiar place. 'Why am I in my room? What happened?' He asked himself. He was about to sit up when he abruptly got a headache. He held his head when he suddenly remembered the scent of blood that he had smelled earlier.

" You're awake. " Said his older brother who is sitting across from him while preserving a journal again. There was also tea in front of him placed in a small glass table. Even if there is a tea, Atlas would not drink it because for vampires, tea is like a poison.

He folded the journal and went to Ali's bed and sat next to him. " How are you feeling? Are you okay? Dallas told me what happened to you at school. " His older brother asked calmly. Ali just looked down, silent. Atlas sighed before speaking again.

" Blood domination. " Ali appeared at him with a puzzled look. " What occurred to you earlier was blood dominance. That means, Ali, you have found the person who can make you stronger if you drink his blood. "

Ali still doesn't understand what his brother means. " Listen, Ali. There are two types of vampires – the ordinary ones and the exceptional ones. The ordinary ones are like me and grandpa, the vampires who have no power, the ones that are inferior. The exceptional ones are also referred to as paralleled twins. This is an uncommon case amongst our kind because they are the only ones who share the same destiny with the equal man or woman that no one can ever interrupt. "

" It was first discovered five hundred years ago. There was a vampire who attacked a human because of the sturdy odor of his blood. But the vampires found out too late because he also died an hour after the death of the person whose blood he sucked. Only five to ten percent have this case of paralleled twin. And until now, the officials are still searching for whoever is experiencing it for them to observe. So Ali, you need to find who your paralleled twin is earlier than the officials. "

" But, brother, grandfather said... " Atlas interrupted Ali's speech. " Ali, do not inform this to grandpa. If grandpa finds out about this, your paralleled twin will be in danger and even you can be in danger as well. So don't tell this to anyone. " Ali just nodded.

He looked at his brother once more with concern in his eyes. His brother patted him on his head. " Don't worry. No matter what happens, brother will always be here by your side. I won't let anything bad happen to you. Okay. " Ali smiled at his brother.

Ali sat on his mattress looking outside. It's darkish however it's nevertheless shiny outside because of the moonlight. No clouds can be seen in the sky so the twinkling stars are clearly visible.

As he looked at the beautiful moon he remembered what happened earlier. Before he passed out he saw the face of one of the four men who had been blocked with the aid of Zyaire earlier. He stares at Ali with concern in his dark alluring eyes. He is tall with darkish hair. Pointy nose and heart-shaped rosy lips. His jawline is well shaped and he has fair skin.

Ali sighed. While quietly staring outside, Dallas suddenly knocked on his window with Zyaire carrying two rabbits that he waved while smiling. Ali was surprised by the sudden visit of his friends and he at once opened the window.

" Why did you come through here? Why not through the front door? " He asked whilst closing the window again. " Maybe due to the fact that your grandfather won't allow us. " Dallas answered while patting away the grass and leaves that is on his garments. " We have something. " Zyaire stated whilst waving the two rabbits in front of Ali.

" You even brought two rabbits. " Ali giggles. Dallas and Zyaire were smiling while looking at him. " Maybe because you want it. But if you do not favor it, we are going to just return it to the forest. " Zyaire acted as if he was going to return the rabbits to the forest.

" No, I want it. Thank you. " Ali immediately took the two rabbits that Zyaire was holding. " Is that why you have dirt on your clothes because you are searching rabbits for me? " Ali asked while pressing the noses of the rabbits. " Hmm. " That was Dallas' only answer.

Both cold and pale rabbits were left on the floor in Ali's room. Dallas pass a tissue to him because there was blood left on Ali's lips. Ali accepted the tissue and wiped his lips.

" What happened to you earlier and you act like that? " Dallas, who is sitting next to Ali on the bed, asked. Ali put down his hand with a tissue as Dallas leans his body backward with his palms on mattress supporting his upper physique. Zyaire was standing near the window facing them.

" My brother said it was blood dominance. " He answered while playing the napkin in his hand. " Blood dominance? " Dallas asked. Ali gasps. " Nothing. Forget it. " He said playfully whilst waving his hand. But both his friends face were determined to know what it was which leave Ali no choice but to tell them. " Let's keep it a secret, okay. I promised brother not to tell anyone. " And then, Ali start explaining to them what blood dominance is as well as paralleled twin.

" It means that the only one who experiences blood dominance is the one who has a paralleled twin. And the paralleled twin is a person with whom you can share your destiny with. " Dallas summarized. " So complicated. " Ali nodded in agreement. " Has this happened before? " Zyaire asked.

" Yes. Five hundred years ago they first learned about paralleled twins. " Ali answered. " Then, who is your parallel twin? " The three of them looked into each other's eyes. " I don't know. All I know is that he is one of the four friends that Zyaire refers to. " Ali looked at Zyaire. Zyaire shook his head. " I only have one friend amongst them. I don't even know the other three. " He answered with a denial tone. Ali laughed at his friend who act like a child just now.
