I watched as the Tech Priest made their final adjustments. We got several planets of Imperial guards ready for deployment. Bases set up behind the Sera Military as I know there's a spy for the Locust. Seeing there is collaborators within the government ranks as my suppose location was exposed. I don't trust them. But they are fine Cannon fodder.
I looked out at the streets and see the people celebrating the end of the war.
Its been a few days since the pendulum wars ended. Peace came to sera, and the people rejoiced of having almost a century of war ended.
A treaty of peace is ratified for Cog and UIR.
And those peace doves think that we actually won?
With the new Hammer of Dawn orbiting above the skies, it serves as a deterrent and power of the human race... I seen it how it implemented and it became a Cage for Cog to control... I felt pity.
Or that's what people supposed to believe.
I knew... Adam Fenix knew, and perhaps that Chairman knew...
It wasn't meant to last forever.
Prospectors found a impulsion pit that held enough resource to fuel their industry for several decades... But I knew....
It was the start of the coming storm.
One that will bleed the Planet with the blood of the people.
I have to play a long game. Ensure that Coalition collapse and make the population losses mitigated. And replaced the failing Coalition with the Imperium. It's better than having veterans looked down and being bossed around by some wench that is girl bossing her way in sera. At least I do care about the veterans...
Note that it is mitigated. I don't know what my supposed "brother" cooked up for this locust...
Last I heard was that the UIR sent 20 divisions to the hole in their end... May their god find some solace that they died well... Because being alive by those things? They are definitely seeking death as Salvation.
And I hope that it is not as bad as it seemed.
- Alexander Tyrus, Last Lord of Tyrus
[Recording #*** Start of E-day]
On the capital of Tyrus, people was doing their daily lives, retired soldiers was just exiting their service and ready to be merged with society. The scent of bread wafted in the air and people enjoyed a good trashball.
This day etched on the people of sera as the worse day of their lives, and after this moment, years of hell and war, now careening down on their face with a sledgehammer. Reminding them that war inescapable from humanity.
The ground began to crack and created giant potholes, some curious onlookers began to peer at the hole, wondering if some idiot forget to check their city planning.
Various eyes appears in the darkness of the holes and what met was a series of screams as the skies began to darken. And supersoldier mutants began to emerge from the hole bearing weapons and began firing upon them.
E-day or Emergence Day had arrive.
The attacks happened everywhere at once.
Doesn't matter if you are neutral, Cog or UIR, they attacked discriminately without remorse.
The skies is filled with tentacle shaped monsters and bat like creatures that blor out the sun and the ground is attacked by these giant monsters.
Public institutions were paralyzed due to the sudden appearance of the locust.
The police Headquarters was one of many that is attacked first and all the higher ups were butchered. Paralyzing their chain of command.
The local police garrisons that did survive, and tasked independently to keep the order were not even safe from the enemy before them. As their 9mm handguns that they commonly used for keeping the peace didn't even penetrate the skin of the Locust drone. And they were shocked at the futility as they were butchered by the sheer volume of firepower headed towards their way.
The Cog Garrisons were alerted but they met a foe that is different tactics than them.
They could attack everywhere and anywhere in the underground, due to the fact that the tactics they learned in the pendelum wars doesn't matter much. Every supply depot, every transit stations were crippled in a blitzkrieg. And what assured was a safe zone was immediately opened up in a pothole revealing the monsters.
The Remaining Military called them Locust as they were like hungry swarms of insects that hunger for violence.
"Shit! Shit! die you Freak!" A Cog Soldier opened fire at a horde of locusts at the intersection.
He was in a squad that is pinned down and surrounded.
The enemy before him was like a tide of steel and their bullets were like tickle before the enemies.
"Ammo, Running dry!" Yelled a man beside him.
He grunted and tossed him a Mag as he reloaded.
It took him one literal magazine to take one of them down and that's just their body. Their heads were like metal casings.
Their sole support is on one of the buildings provided sniper support is the only things that kept them in bay.
And the gunfire above them was a reminder that there is someone alive.
But as minutes goes on, he found that the sniper became silent... Then opened fire but not to the horde before him.
He realized the person next to him had their brains splattered across his helmet.
And the last he looked was a monster using his supporter weapons at the rooftop, grinning at him as his life was taken away. And that section fell and it flooded the rest of the defenders and made it more dire.
"We lost another one!"
"Can they just die already!"
"Big Fucking Uglies up ahead!"
"Boom." A duo of bigger monsters amidst the monsters before them began to barrel towards them with a enlarged grenade launcher and they unleashed a salvo upon the group.
Organs and bones were scattered across the pavement.
One of the soldier that survive the battle believe that he could melee them with his lancer bayonet and it snapped by bad angle and before he realizes it, his head was smashed apart.
The citizens were not fair better as they had war fatigue and now war is in their faces. Many tried to comprehend the reality of their surroundings, some tried to rationalize their
Thoughts.
But the gunfire and the corpses of their own people forced them to accept that reality is in their faces.
Many tried to rushed out of the cities and clogged the roads leading out of the city. Forcing them to walk. But they fell victim of the monstrosity and barbarism of the enemies that dwell below. And above.
The Monsters raised their banner that overlooked the city. And roared.
The Cog was paralyzed for a brief moment due to the majority of the generals were killed in the blitzkrieg. And soon they began enacting protocols.
The chairman began to call to arms for the retirees to reenter service.
Alexander that is one of the remaining few that is still held rank that was recalled and now he is given sector to command. He knew that he was not as strong as he used to, so he have to work behind the scenes.
He ordered the Cities in the struggling frontlines to be evacuated and the citizens regardless of Status entered to space.
A woman was dragging her two children away from combat that started near the school. And ended up in a Alleyway.
"Mommy, we supposed to wait for Dad to pick us up?" The girl asked.
"Benedicto, Sylvia I am doing what I can to get you two to safety." The woman hushed her children.
She felt thudding behind her and she cling onto her children in dear fright.
She heard a language that is different and clung to her children harder.
A series of red light appear from the corner of the alleyway and she met a group of humans wearing armor that is not cog. It was a olive green armor and it held a shiny aquila that held the world of sera on his breastplate.
She didn't care if it was the Cog or the UIR as long as she can get her children to safety.
One of them approached her
"Your name Citizen?"
"My name is Maria Santiago and these two children is Benedicto Santiago and Silvia Santiago" she answered.
The man still for a moment and nodded
"Copy, this is Arrowhead Squad... Target been found. Providing Extraction." He beckons her to follow them.
Seeing that there's no where to go. She unwilling to go after them... The man spoke to her with a familiar name.
"General Alexander have called all Military related families to be escorted to space. We must not waste time here Ma'am. Private Dominic Santiago is fighting for his life to get you off planet." The man held out his hand.
Upon hearing her husband name, she agree and followed the group and ended up in a evacuation zone.
APC began to roll out and came back with bullet filled holes and red robed men is plastering armored plates on the holes that been punctured through, Planes land every moments, people were converging to the safety zone. Hoping to get out of the warzone.
Paramedics tended to the wounded and laid carpets to those that were unable to be saved.
The war they thought was gone was directly on their homes, it was not like the radios and television that told them that they are winning.
It was a slaughter. The roars and screams echoes in the distance.
She met with a officer at a desk that just looked at her car id and imprinted a tattoo of a bar code on her hand.
"This will be your identification. Move along now." He looked so tired as he gesture her towards one of the aircraft that was about to leave.
She and her children were processed boarded a plane that was being readied off the planet.
She heard soldier screaming as explosion occure near the evacuation zone.
"Enemy contact!" One of them Screamed.
The horde of locust began to converge the evacuation zone and the citizen began to panic.
Causing strife.
She felt somewhat lucky as she watched the fight began below the surface. She looked around and saw the occupants tired and despondent. But she clung to her children and prayed for her beloved that is fighting for their lives.
She found herself above the sea of sera and landed on a floating harbor that held several triangular ships that is loading up the people to space.
Away from war.
Away from him...
Private Santiago was informed of his family evacuation and fought harder than everyone else. That even his brother Carlos halted him.
"Brother, you better stay alive! You don't want your wife to be a widow do ya?!"
A message rang out across the communications of every soldiers of Cog.
Fight till the bitter end, and stay alive so that you can meet your families in space! And if you felt that no hope is with you... Make sure, that You can bring as many bastards as you can and drag them deeper than the pits they came!> It gave the soldiers renewed vigor, though limited it may be. But the overall situation, it was thoroughly doomed. The Locust kept strategically popping up everywhere and making logistics chain unviable. Around 60% people of Sera was killed in the first year, and 20% reached in space. The rest disappear or hidden themselves. Many tried to flee into space but Alexander kept a cap as it was first come and first serve, he didn't want everyone to go to space. It would give them a mindset that there's always a option to just bail. He only managed to make several space stations for Sera that is able to fit the first few city population that is besieged. And if he laid all his cards out, he knows that Cog will confiscate his assets and the Rot fester... As he knew that they will nationalized the Companies he made. He may be called a butcher. But at least he was more fairer. As he was informed of the fact that the rich people is fleeing to a island weeks beforehand and left the majority to fend for themselves. He could only smirked at the misfortune that will fall upon them. Because Adam Fenix is on the list and knowing the Locust Queen? She will go in hell or high water to force him to make a anti-imulsion array. And those rich folks is just fair game. The situation turned dire as Alexander carefully play his hands, not too overbearing, not too much success. Keeping the status quo. Abd preserving as much forces as he could. His reason is to ensure that the rot cracked and collapse, he must deal as much damage to the locust hordes at once. Marcus Fenix is now a pawn, embroiled in between Alexander and the remaining CoG members. Regardless he wants to or not, he would be in a political strife. Chairman Prescott done the worse thing for humanity. Nationalizing companies for the war effort, drafting everyone that could hold the guns at the age of 14... Stim the soldiers that they bulked up from a cocktails of steroids and experimental drugs. Breeding Farms were enacted behind Alexander back. He felt disgusted, Breeding farms is basically enforced brothels without contraceptive and literally removing woman choice, to be a breeding vats for the most successful Cog Soldier and the moment the females had a period they were impregnated. Human rights be damn. For the sake of human survival. Are they no different from the locust? He never understood why Prescott go so far. Even to Alexander surprise he had the gall to immediately launch all hammer of dawn upon all Cog cities and metropolitan district. That single night before he ordered such a damned order, what he spoke to Alexander as he question the insanity of Prescott. He met a tired Chairman that was looking at his golden pocket watch. "Old friend... Do you think about this plan?" Prescott laughed. "You know that that is absurd, Prescott, It takes a week to even empty out the population. You are destroying what left of the surviving forces that is giving their all." "Tell me old friend... How many did we saved?" He looked at Alexander with weary eyes. "About 10 million people in Cog controlled territory is in space... 10 million... Out of 400 million... That is still trapped behind enemy line..." "It's a small price... I know that... I will be the sinner with blood on my hands... At least it brings me some comfort that... There is some semblance of our existence in space... Miniscule it may be." Prescott held his golden watch with some solace. Alexander stood silent as he knows he also had blood on his hands, he could have just summoned the endless might of the Imperial guards and the Astartes, they would be victorious... But that's just a empty victory. And people take it for granted... Only when they were at the last end of their existence... The Imperium will aid them... Ephyra, a Capital that was once the city of Tyrus, a Cultural center of Cog and now the tide is turning against humanity, the locust swarm and almost captured the capital, until Prescott gave humanity a three day to evacuate. It made everyone that was still in the cities panicking. The locust attempted to captured the civilians as a hostage... Thinking that the puny humans would never dared destroy their own country. They never understood the determination of a man so willing to burn down his nation to kill the threat. The pillar of lights began to light up from the skies. And rained down upon Sera, the cities turned to ashes and killing both Human and Locust alike. Turning people into pillars of ash as their bodies were superheated by the amount of heat rays that rained down from the heavens. Those that survive by heading the outskirts and avoided the Locust patrols were the lucky ones... This was a stain by Cog that committed a Genocide to keep the monsters at bay. Many of the morals still intact felt disgusted with Prescott methods, but they can't deny the effectiveness of his plan. Alexander just shrugged as he would had done the same. But a more better time and relocation of forces consolidated. The Hammer of dawn was effective. But the fact that it also took out unaccountable soldiers of Cog in the process is akin of skinning them off. Those that survive held some embers of hating the CoG. Alexander can't blame them. A three day evacuation for them to escape? That is feasibly not possible especially in a warzone against a enemy that burst out of the ground. People that survived turned into stranded, they had no home, their faith for the Cog had fallen and is hostile towards them. But surviving is all they could. Alexander order the ships under his authority to provide humanitarian aid and Imperial preachers. Giving the surviving masses that there is a different government that is coming to save them and it would be a word of plenty. While cog is implementing Operation Lifeboat, a way to make amends or just a way to conscript the remaining males into the army... The Stranded is slowly but surely becoming imperial citizens... But as they fought with a clinging on to a hope that Alexander know it is false. A brutal 14 years began. (Time: 14 years after emergence day) [Tyrus Prison Complex] Marcus Fenix, a Veteran of Aspho fields. Now trapped in a Jail, he disobeyed orders to bring a lightmass bomb to a bridge to delay the enemy in order to save his father. While general Alexander held the bridge for the survivors to retreat from, it didn't make a excuse for him to abandoned orders for a important moment for him. But in the end it was no avail. He saw his father fell under the pile of rubble and he was court martial for disobeying orders in a important battle, but upon hearing that he is a veteran and he was aware that his buddies, Alexander and rumors stated that it was Prescott that helped him from the shadows. That it moved to just mere 20 years He spent 4 years in that cell. Looking at that familiar ceiling as some creature that glowed with yellow eyes staring at his face from the ceiling. He heard footsteps and heard as a four of unlikely allies approach his cell. "Jack, Slice this door!" A man voice heard beyond the door And a sparks of a slicing began to glow in the door and it was busted through with a man foot at the door. "Alexander, you shouldn't had done that." The man exasperated. "Less talk and more action, we got a man to save. " a familiar voice spoke. "Dom?" Marcus was confused why his friend and his brother aligned with the general Alexander standing before him "You been pardoned, Chairmain Prescott words." Dom tossed a duffle bag that contains new armor and weapons. "What happened to the rest of the prisoners?" Marcus asked as he noticed all the cells are empty. "They been pardon as well... The situation gotten worse that we are literally hiring convicts from prison." Alexander muttered. As they walked in the prison complex. As Marcus Fenix was kept up to terms. He was reassigned to delta squad. Cpl. Dominic Santiago is now promoted. And Carlos is his private at the moment. He felt guilty of not helping his friend free so he decided to remained in place. Marcus is reinstated as a soldier. Alexander solair, due to expending his political assets of saving Marcus Fenix, and enraging too many individuals, joined Delta Squad as a major. His rank is frozen until he prove himself of killing many Locust as possible. It raised Marcus eyes as the rumors were true. They were about to leave the prison through the cell blocks, a locust battalion bursted from the main entrance and ready to kill the group. The Delta squad took cover as the Locust Hammerburst rang across the concrete pavement and sparks from the metal railing. Marcus fired back while providing fire support. Alexander vaulted through the hail of fire and revved up a chainsword as he reaped the lives of the locust before him. Marcus and the rest were shocked. Of his actions. They know how tough it was to kill a Drone especially in close combat. "What you waiting for? Locust is heading towards our location, and I not sure if I could handle them if I am babysitting you?" Alexander looked at them as he beckon them to leave the prison. As they reached outside, they could see clouds of dark smoke in the nearby Ephyra, and several Valkyries hovering around the prison complex. < Another rumble began to erupt and revealing several grubs that want to take them down. The Valkyries rained their rockets upon the group and one of the Drones managed to unleashed a Rocket attack at one of the planes engines. < < < As if on que, a Multi legged crab bursted out and attempt to attack Delta squad. A Valkyrie landed nearby and lowered its rear hatch and revealing a lanky cog soldier that is waving at them. And a Bald man manning a Lascannon at the side. The group rushed for the hatch as the man pressed the trigger and unleasing a torrent of laser towards the Crab like creatures and frying it. As they hopped aboard, the Lanly soldier gave Marcus a water can. "Are you, the Marcus Fenix? The Veteran at Aspho Fields?" The cog soldier asked. Alexander laugh as he pointed at not only Dom and also Carlos nearby. "Boy, We are all veterans in that hellhole. Your name?" "Anthony Carmine, Sir! I am a big fan of yours" The lanky youth saluted. "Is that situation that bad? To let young people like this in our group?" Macus asked. "Sadly yes, Prescott literally scraping the barrel in this offensive, prisoners, political dissidents, mental patients ... I should had just kept this boy safe... But... It was his choice." Alexander sighed. Marcus looked at the man funny, as Alexander life he was known to worked alone. Dom informed him that they will be meeting with Colonel Hoffman "Great, him again." Marcus Sarcastically spoke. As they landed in a plaza, that is a makeshift field base. A man saluted to Alexander. "Sir, We are now have a Lightmass bomb in our arsenal, and we need Delta Squad to reconnect Alpha Squad to get the Resonator, so that we can scan these sone of bitches tunnels and end the war early." He pointed at a king raven helicopter nearby and a group of women stepped out. "This lady over here would be your Intel operative and assist your group in the command center." Marcus face changed for a bit, but Dominic and Alexander noticed the subtle change and smiled. Gunfire rang out and several tunnel burst around the base and Delta squad assisted the defenders. "Remember, Delta Squad, You must reach to the last current location of Alpha Squad and get the sonic resonator. If any survivors, they are to reinforce your squad. And Marcus I demand that you should do 110% with the effort!" He saluted and walked towards the king raven. With bullets whizzing by. "Colonel, I suggest that we should reach to safety." Anya spoke as she was protected by the female cog as it pinged off her armor. "Two down" Carlos calmly spoke out "Now there's none." Alexander smiled. After the battle, the left the defenders to clean up the mess and reach to the destination of the ruins of Ephyra, Alexander held such remiscence of the old buildings, he was there for 169 years from its birth and it made him...with mixed emotions, buildings near collapse or riddled with bullet holes is what remains of the the beautiful city. Perhaps when the war is over, his first task is to rebuild this city again. Benjamin noticed this. "Sir... Were you born here?" "In a way... same thing I met your brothers in that port... How's Clayton?" "He's doing great, I heard he's been killing grubs left and right like a grub killer." Anthony positivity shine through despite he was the bland character in the group. "Maybe, give him a call when you have a chance, grub killer is a good nickname for him." Alexander smiled. "Will do, Sir." After the series of fight, they reached to the last known location of Alpha Squad one of them is dead and what they been sent is missing. Marcus began to listen more and Benjamin was fiddling with a broken resonator. < Lieutenant Kim picked up the call. "We found what seemed to be a remain of Alpha Squad, no signs of the Sonic resonator." < "We get crappy radios... And here I thought the MRE are bad." Alexander joked. As they made their way to the House of Sovereign, the defenses was harsh. As if the Locust were prepared for their arrival. But against a battle hardened group? They were slaughtered. Alexander noticed Anthony is fiddling with his lancer. "Fuck..." He groaned as he made his way to Anthony. "What's the matter trooper?" "Sir! Something wrong with my rifle!" He tried to show it to Alexander, but he was pushed to the ground by Alexander and a Longshot Bullet pierce Alexander hand, leaving a hole in its wake. After the battle ended, Alexander gripped Anthony collar and stared at his helmet. "I want no fucking moron in this squad, Anthony! If you died, what happened to the rest of your brothers that lived with a guilt because of your stupidity! Always reload after every engagement behind cover! They taught that in boot camp! Don't forget that this hand of mine that been pierced by a stolen longshot, would have been your fucking skull! Alexander held his pierce hand at Anthony helmet. Anthony nodded nervously as Alexander berated him for a solid minute. Marcus commented to Dominic at the berating. "Damm, reminds me of my drill instructor." Marcus commented. "Old times huh?" "Now, did you understand what I telling you?" "Yes sir, Always reload behind cover." "Good, Now help me perform triage before my Adrenaline runs out." Alexander smiled. He taught Anthony to perform simple triage and let a potion dropped in his wound. He could have immediately healed, but he wanted to let Anthony know the consequences of his mistake. He made a promise to Joseph that he would take care of his descendants. And he keep it as much as he can. The drones began to flood into the streets and now heading towards them, Marcus and Kim locked the reinforced door of the House of sovereigns and kept them out. They all knew it would not last forever, so they delve into the depth of the silent corridors, Drones came out from behind every corner and Wretches came from the ceiling and the vents. They were running out of ammo, but they often found stashes of supplies that was left by the previous defenders that was hastily retreated. Alexander mind was distant as he remembered the times he did served as a member of the house of sovereign, making policy to benefit the people... But now its just a mere echoes of the past. They hear a man mocking the locust in the distance. "Whoo! Nobody can stop the Cole train! And here comes the pain train!" His infectious laughter echoes in the distance. Delta squad reach the second floor and below them. They found the buffed man yelling out as he held a gnasher in one hand and a lancer in another and he mowed down the dron that were flooding into the room he was in. "Provide Fire Support!" Kim yelled as their guns blazed through the crowd. The drones fell by the sheer amount of bullets of the lancers, Cole noticed the help and gave a hearty laugh. "Damm, you must be the reinforcements!" "Your name trooper?" "Private Augustus Cole, From Alpha Squad." Benjamin walked towards him with his eyes sparkle. "You are Augustus Cole! The Number 83?" He asked. "Wow, I never got to meet a actual fan till this point." Cole laughed. "Me and my brothers watched your trashball game! Very big fan of yours!" "Damm, a fanboy and a celebrity... What a weird mix." "You envious?" "Alright Private Cole, where is the Sonic resonator?" "A few blocks down from here at the tomb of the unknown. We were separated when the grubs attacked. Wait... I know you... You are Alexander Tyrus, the last Noble of Tyrus! The U.I.R Boogeyman !" Cole exclaim. Alexander smiled wryly. "I am no longer a part of the House of sovereign... Just a Major Alexander." "Hell, I remember you sponsored me and made Hanover a nice place to live in. Cole train, run on real grain baby!" Cole laughed. As the group rushed pass the hallowed halls. They arrived in a room where the seat of power remained empty. "So much for a seat of power." "More like a place of lies." "Technically True Marcus, because politics is a snake pit waiting to devoured you alive. And you need to be ruthless and a con artist to survive." Alexander spoke. Recalling the times he had to push his policies. As they arrived at a reinforced door, Kim ordered Jack to slice the door opened, Alexander noticed movement. "Wretches! On the ceilings!" All of delta squad raised their guns and found a horde of these creatures snarled and dropped from the ceilings. "Crap, crap, crap so many of them!" Anthony yelled out as he fired towards the sheer amounts of these monsters swarming them "They are in the vents! Marcus, Dom, deal with them!" Alexander barked orders After a few minutes and a pile of smoking corpses later. Alexander sounded them off. "Check your ammos and inform me that you ran out, I got enough ammo to share." Alexander smiled as Cartridges and ammo boxes appear next room. They began to refill their empty weapons and ventured forth. "This is Delta one, we need more intel" Kim asked for directions. <<*Static*>> "Must be Seeders... And multiple ones as well." Alexander gritted his teeth as he handed Marcus a designator that was left behind, the locust wasn't aware such a device would wreak such havoc within their ranks. "Alright, Marcus, Hold onto the Hammer of dawn designator, use it to wipe out the seeders. Along your paths ,while I use this to kill the seeders on my path." Alexander patted his portable Lascannon. "Shouldn't you work with the rest?" Kim asked. "Faster that way, and Alpha squad is in dire need of reinforcements, I will meet you up near Alpha squad, and speed is of the essence." He pointed at the distance, there was two passageway leading to their destination. "These grubs will soon understand why I am UIR Boogeyman..." Alexander smiled. (Drone Pov) Me thinks that our king and queen is wise. They sent a company to deal with these interlopers and attack the squads of these inferiors... King know that they are getting a device to destroy our home. I waited with my kin as I manned the troika, aiming at a hallowed halls... We were supposed to protect the seeders to bring this city under our control. So that we are free from the infestation from below... I felt unease... As if something screaming death in the darkness. A single inferior visor appear in the darkness, but we all could see him clearly. It was glowing red and felt like it was leaking blood from its visors. My kin immediately opened fire, Gnashers,Hammerburst and grenades were lobbed at him. He rushed towards our barricade with impossible speed, I pressed the Troika to kill that abhuman. But he seemed to dodge every bullet every placed shot. And he got too close to the first line I saw a slaughter, we were the elites, handpicked by our king. Given the best armor and metal skulls to make us sturdy. But he dodges and slid as he use this strange device to ripped us to shreds, thousands of microfilaments of whips erupted from the target. He reached to my position and slapped me with a wooden stick caving in my reinforce metal body. And the troika I using was my nail. It was like staring at a symptom of violence... "My king..." I grumbled as I spat my blood. He pause... He knows what I said and approaches me... His hand emitted a red flames... "What monster are you?" "The monster that humanity created to kill the likes of you." Was all he said as I felt my body is burning, I screamed as the flames engulfed me... Then there was silence... I found myself in a strange darkness and thought I got away from that demon... "What a delicious looking morsel" That is the last words I hear before my consciousness disappeared. (3rd pov) Alexander stood before the barricade defenders, he lit a cigarette and sighed. Seeing that this locust have metal skeletons and cybernetics to make them smarter is not a good thing. Especially the metals they used as a skeletal frames is tainted with the warp. He looked at the bodies and found that they were not much... Around 500 of them manning the defenses. He would had join Delta squad but he noticed their presence is more dangerous. "So they are making a move now... Better issue armor piercing bullets" He muttered as he walked towards the edge and below where he stood was a seeders that jams the radios. He tossed a plasma grenade and watched as it shrieks and burn itself to death and shot it with Lascannon till it burn to ashes. He set charges and kept the bodies, the people of sera does need to know about the warp, he doesn't need to risk the four chaos gods to Interfere. And bless the locust with their gifts. He rushed past the target and destroy hordes of locust along way. He arrived at the location where Delta squad is providing cover fire across the street. "You took your sweet time!" Marcus yelled. "Grubs got new tricks, they have metal in their bodies now." Alexander nonchalantly said. And they got spooked. But they ignore that and discuss it later. The locust lived up to its name. They swarmed endlessly to the streets and attacked them on all sides. Even sending down their reinforcements from the skies. "Great... Now grubs learn how to paradrop." Marcus sarcastically. "Ah Hell, Raining Grubs? I didn't sign up for this!" "Shut your hole, Anthony, Means we are in a target rich environment!" After what seemed to be forever, the Locust retreated. "Reconnect with Alpha squad... These grubs is not retreating without a reason." Baird, in his hair filled glory walked out with his men and sarcastically spoke out. "Great, you all want a hug or something?" "Nope, you stink for days." Alexander snapped back. "Where is the Sonic resonator?" "Right inside the tomb of the unknown." The locust began to swarmed over them and they are fighting for their lives, most of Alpha squad that assisted Baird was killed. Anthony yell out. He raised his gun nervously at a crowd of locust heading towards them. "Contact! One fucking ugly bastard dead ahead!" All turned to look at his direction. And a giant locust roamed with a ceremonial blade loomed over them. Slowly walked as if he didn't care about the fire power. He calmly walked towards Kim that ordered them to retreat. He was shielded by the darkness as the bullets was halted by the mere flicker of the shadows that envelope the giant Marcus and the rest of the squad saw Kim was held by the neck and his face stared directly at the monster. The beast smiled as he used the blade and stabbed Kim repeatedly, ripping out his organs and heart. He devoured the still beating heart Infront of them. Marcus and Dominic closed the door of the tomb of the unknown as the locust fired at the group. "Great, the Asshole get the promotion, why not the smart guy?" Baird groaned. "Because Assholes always survive, Private Baird. And he have more knowledge about the grubs, and we need that pretty head of your to help us survive in your own way." "Thanks for the positivity pep talk." Baird shot back. A roar echoed within a tomb that made them froze. One of Alpha squad panicked and rushed out. Baird told him to stop. "Gyles don't!" He went before he could hear it and as he turned around the corner, they heard screaming as the man was ripped apart. Alexander took a peek at the corner. A giant humanoid is clobbering the man, the corpse spasm by the sheer blows and his armor was flattened. He whispered to the squad. "Bezerker. And it ain't the one that had her morning pills no less..." Bezerkers are just female locust in steroids, a perfect baby factory to churn out drones, they have no sense of sight as they seared their eyes out. And their heightened smell and hearing is dangerous. Even a veteran knows that he would stay away from that thing as heavier ordinances could kill that thing. "Great, this looks like a job for me then." Alexander spoke. "Doors bolted right? We have a literal ramming tool out there. I distract it and make sure that it would be the key, you avoid the havoc that I will do... " "What the hell you are planning to do Major?" "I am gonna roast the shit out of her." Alexander smiled as he ventured forth in the darkness of the catacombs. They hear roars and cursing from the depths. "Hello, Ugly... Damm you smell! Your crotch really smells like a dumpster fire, even a prostitute is better than you!" A roar was response as a gate crashing was heard, Marcus and the rest of Delta squad sneak and found the doors been ripped apart. And more taunting is heard. "Your face is so fucking ugly that no wonder they chained you up! You are the definition of how to fuck a ugly bitch and lived to tell the tale, How the fuck your kids are so dammed ugly, its beyond my mind to comprehend it?!" Another crash was heard and a roar accompany it as the Delta squad reached the inner depth and leading outside the tomb. They heard the final taunt. "Hell, no you freak, I date slender women, not some brainless freak, you look worse for a dinner date! Hell, no clothing designer would even bother making you a dress! " A crash of the last door groaned by the sheer blows. "You hit like a pussy! That's all you got! And you swing like one!" The final blow was heard, giving the rest of the team to rush out and see Alexander hiding behind a pillar. And the Bezerker is looking furiously for him. Marcus armed the designator at the Locust Bezerker and a beam of light rained down and searing the flesh of the monster before them. "Need another more..." "Great, I distract it once more, Hey you, you Damm bitch, over here! You want a manly man! Come and get me! Or it's that your ego is hurt huh!?" Alexander yelled. The monster albeit the pain, noticed Alexander voiced and rammed her fist at his direction, making Alexander raised his Chainsword to defend the blows. Marcus saw the designator was ready once more, and another beam of light rained down and killed the Locust bezerker, frying its insides as it dealt one last blow to Alexander before passing. The blow made him crash into one of the pillars. Marcus sighed as he held his hands to Alexander that just been caved into the pillar. "You good sir?" "I seen better days, now about that transport." What news gave the group a bitter look. "This is colonel Hoffman here, we are unable to provide air transport due to night approaching and you must continue the trip to Lethia Imulsion Facility on foot. " There was a collective groan. Going in the night on foot is basically suicide especially kryll is set loose. They were like a sky piranhas that is with vampire flavored text and they hate the light. "I know someone that could help us. A guy name Franklin is nearby that I got some favors with. He got a junker." Dom spoke out. "You have friends with a stranded?" "Originally, I was supposed to let them look for my wife and kids, but this time to cash in the favor. And hopefully this would bring the end of the war." Dominic smiled. "Woo! We going to be heroes after this!"
