Think fast!

Soisen was a bit nervous as he walked down the hill to what would be Hagrid's first class, where he would introduce the hippogriff Buckbeak that Malfoy would later stupidly provoke. And the reason he was nervous was because he intended to steal Harry's position and be the one to befriend the hippogriff.

Maybe he could even fly!

-I think this is the first time I've ever disliked a book. Apart from Lockhart's, I mean - Hermione wasn't too keen on the Monstrous Monster book and its strong character that drove it to bite its reader - Although at least it didn't happen to me the same way it did to Sylvia.

-Don't mention it, she almost threw her copy at me to teach me a lesson -smiled Soisen- Too bad for her, I know the trick of the book -she said while showing her copy that wasn't tied with a string and was behaving meekly, to the complete bewilderment of all the other Gryffindor and Slytherin students.

-How did you do that? -Ron asked, not understanding how he had managed to calm the paper beast.

-Just pet its back, how else? -replied Soisen with an expression that implied it was common sense and questioned his sanity.

Ron wanted to respond, but was at a loss for words, so he shut his mouth and turned away from them with Harry as he tried to sneakily follow that advice.

-It's exactly as you said! Guys, open the book to page forty-nine-Hagrid listened to Soisen's explanation and was glad that at least one of his students could understand the playful instinct of the book he personally selected-Five points for Galegold.

-I wish I'd known that sooner," Neville muttered as he picked himself up off the floor after an attack from his book startled him.

-Hello, Hagrid, ouch," Soisen was elbowed in the ribs by Hermione.

-You should call him Professor!

-It's okay, it's okay," Soisen rubbed the bruised area, feeling aggrieved.

Wouldn't it have been enough to tug the sleeve of her robe discreetly?

When did this girl become so violent?

Don't tell me that the homework she left them during the second year hardened her character?

-Welcome everyone to your first Care of Magical Creatures lesson," Hagrid clapped his hands and began reciting what he had been rehearsing on his horse all afternoon yesterday, a tip courtesy of the professors, "Wait here while I go find today's creature, form a group over there, that's it.

Hagrid was glad he didn't stutter this time and went to fetch the surprise he had specially prepared to make a good first impression.

Soisen watched as Malfoy pulled the Dementor prank on Potter and was almost tempted to create an illusory Dementor to pee his pants. But, since that might cause the lesson to be cancelled, he decided to restrain himself and keep it down to mere harmless teasing. Unlike the original timeline, this time it was Ron who pulled Potter away from the conflict and not Hermione, who just rolled her eyes at the chosen boy's gullibility.

A temperature drop hadn't even happened!

How could the Dementors be around?

No wonder his grades were almost as bad as Ron's, he wasted all his time on quidditch and didn't study hard enough for sure.

-Ahem! -Hagrid caught everyone's attention with a throat clearing, "Ta tararan!

A grey feathered hippogriff approached and entered the vision of all the students, causing them to take two steps back unconsciously. Well, all except Soisen who actually took them forward to get a better look.

-Isn't it beautiful? Hagrid asked with his trademark grin that came out whenever he dealt with creatures as he tossed a ferret-shaped snack to the hippogriff- Say hello to Buckbeak.

-Hagrid, what creature is that? -Ron asked.

Soisen turned and frowned when he saw that Hermione didn't hit Ron.

This is discrimination!

Because he got hit for casually addressing his friend and Ron didn't get hit?

-This, Ron, is a hippogriff! -Hagrid was unaware of Soisen's injustice and explained earnestly in a deeper voice, "What you should know about them is that they are proud creatures. They are easily offended and they should not be bothered, because it might be the last thing they would do," he looked at everyone and seeing that he had their attention, he nodded happily and clapped his hands together, "Good! Who wants to say hello?

Neville immediately took cover behind the stone just like in the movie, while the rest of the students backed away, except for Potter, who stood there stiff as a scarecrow. Seeing how Hagrid was about to turn his head and mistake Potter's lack of action for volunteerism, he stepped forward.

-I will, Hagrid," as he walked past without looking at Potter, who realized at the last second that they had all left him in silent sacrifice were it not for Soisen's appearance. He was about to thank him, but realizing that he didn't do it for him, he wisely kept quiet as he stepped back to join the rest of the students.

Hermione for her part, couldn't believe her friend had the courage to approach such a dangerous creature.

-That's right, Soisen, very good! -Hagrid forgot professional courtesy and spoke as he was always accustomed to, "Approach it slowly and lean in, then wait to see if it responds. If he does, you can touch him. If not... we'll improvise something.

Soisen gave an old-fashioned bow and waited.

Buckbeak looked at him carefully and unlike what would have happened with Potter, where he sensed hesitation and fear, with Soisen he sensed only sincerity and trust, so he did not feel provoked or upset. Approvingly, Buckbeak bowed his head as well.

-Very well done, I'm impressed," Hagrid tossed another ferret to Buckbeak for good behavior, "The first time people take on a hippogriff they almost never get such an excellent result. Ten points for Galegold!

Soisen kept his place after straightening up.

-Now you can go over and pet him," Hagrid confirmed.

Soisen, with a firm but careful and respectful step, approached the hippogriff, who was looking at him intently.

-Slowly, slowly. That's it, Soisen, that speed is perfect," Hagrid commented, ready to intervene if necessary.

When Soisen got within two meters, he stopped and, without Hagrid's instructions, let the Hippogriff take the initiative to approach him. When his hand stroked the plumage on its head, it felt nice and soft. Apparently the hippogriff had taken a bath before the lesson, because he wasn't dirty in the least.

Well, except for the traces of ferret in its beak....

-Well done," Hagrid started clapping and the others joined in his applause, "Well, it looks like he'll let you ride him.

-That would be great," Soisen replied. But instead of letting Hagrid pull him up like a dummy, he took the initiative himself and jumped gently behind the wings, being careful not to pluck any feathers as he knew he wouldn't like it.

And with a swipe of Hagrid's butt, the hippogriff took off and took to the sky with its rider under the astonished gaze of the entire class. Applying a few simple spells to stay in place and avoid the pressure of the wind, Soisen enjoyed the flight immensely. On the spur of the moment, his eyes turned golden and the hippogriff's wings left a trail of rainbows in their wake.

Passing over the trees and above Hogwarts, performing a low flight almost touching the nearby river. Everyone outside the castle or looking out their windows could see a strange, twisted and beautiful rainbow.

It almost made you want to go kart racing on top of the rainbow!

With a whistle from Hagrid, Buckbeak returned to the ground where they were giving the lesson and landed with a trot. Soisen dismounted with a leap and his tousled hair was fixed without touching it.

-It was a great experience, Hagrid," he said still feeling the high, "We'll have to do it again another day!

-Oh, please! -In the midst of the excitement, Malfoy stood up with a jealous face.

-How am I doing on my first day? -Hagrid asked in a low voice.

-Perfect, "Professor," Soisen guided him as he laughed.

-You're not that dangerous, are you? Filthy beast," at some point, the Slytherin student was approaching the hippogriff recklessly.

Soisen didn't hesitate for a second, under the astonished gaze of the students and Hagrid, he not only cast a Petrificus Totalus on Malfoy, but using the Expel Charm, threw him backwards with a blue light to land in a large thorn hedge that cushioned the blow.

Buckbeak alternated his gaze between Malfoy and Soisen, calming himself as he saw that someone he recognized had defended his honor without the need for his intervention. Also, just to be sure, Soisen threw two ferrets at him as appeasement, which earned him a retort of satisfaction as he nuzzled his beak.

-Thanks for letting me know, Hagrid, it would have been unfortunate if Buckbeak got sick after eating Malfoy," commented Soisen, who looked very intimidating at the moment despite the smile on his expression....

-Did I say that? -Hagrid looked at him with a blank mind, but seeing the way he looked at him, he understood that he was trying to get him out of a predicament- I mean, of course! Children, remember not to act like Malfoy. He was the perfect example of what NOT to do in front of a hippogriff. End of lesson.
